Sandpiper batted at pretty much nothing in particular before responding. “Yeah, I would too! Even if the dog being thrown was me.” She teased, wagging her fluffy golden tail with glee. Her smile grew wider as she closed her eyes for a brief moment, enjoying the cozy, warm fire as the rain pattered the windows outside and lightning crackled through the stormy grey clouds. Sandpiper let out a small sigh of pleasure.

The mostly white male flicked his white tipped brown tail aNF put his ears back a bit...but not flattened to his head. He waited for the other male to say something of his own now, though kind of would welcome silence too. “I...I don’t know...” he trailed off. I care what you think... he thought to himself. “It does concern you,” he said, not seeming to realize he’d said it aloud...If only you knew, was his second thought to himself, as he sighed a bit.

The sweet and kind lady dog watched him with brown eyes. She tilted her head a moment as he questioned her. She flicked her totally brown tail a couple of times. She said “Oh, I herd sheep, sometimes pesky chickens or whatever. Seems most of us do. What about you?” she asked, then looked up as another Dame walked in..

Sandpiper’s eyebrows raised up in surprise ad Pollock spoke in a.. somewhat sly tone. Interesting.. “Um.. well.. er.. not really, you know.. just... not quite? I guess?” She responded, her pelt becoming even more hot due to embarrassment. It was the truth, really. Sandpiper has never seen any dog eyeing her or seemingly interested in her. She had had several crushes on a couple of dogs for a while, but did her best to drop them. She knew if they didn’t like her back it would be almost impossible to.. to get close, however much she wanted to.

Sandpiper eyed the pug with an eyebrow raised. He could certainly be of help... it was very nice of him to offer. “Well... yeah..” she trailed off, her mind wandering to the dogs of the farm ‘Pack’. A smile grew on the she-dog’s face as she picked up her voice once more. “That is actually a lot of help.. thanks, Pollock.”

Sandpiper gave a small chuckle as she shuffled her paws around on the floor. "Yeah... yeah, that's right." She said softly, keeping her eyes on the fire as her cheeks heated up with mild embarrassment. "This will sound weird, but.. Canyon's kinda cute." She whispered, her voice sounding like a strangled cow from the effort of trying to form the words.

Sandpiper glanced towards the chonk little round Pug with gratefulness. "Thanks, Pollock. You're a real lifesaver." She complimented with a happy smile as her silky golden tail thumped gently on the ground. Her ears flicked back and forth at the sound of the pounding rain and the sparkling fire. Every noise now sounded great, for some reason, to Sandpiper.

Thomas sat in the corner away from the group, looking around, and occasionally flinching at the lightning outside. This was the first time he had been in the mansion for this long. He looked around again, wondering who all these dogs were. He had rarely talked to them before and wondered if they even liked him. He just felt even sadder, so he decided after a minute he was gonna leave, and try to get back outside

Poppy licked her lips with immense satisfaction as she glanced down at her now empty food bowl. Beautiful yet saddening sight... no more to eat. Not that the Healer was really hungry anymore. She stood up and stretched her legs, making a small, unintelligible noise. The she-dog scanned the small groups of chattering dogs, and her gaze fell on her second Trainee, Thomas. “Oh darling..” she whispered to herself as her gaze softened. Thomas seemed to be down lately, and she didn’t know why. Poppy heaved herself to her feet and padded quietly to the Pitbull. “Hello, dear.” She spoke, her voice gentle as she put a small, happy smile on her face. “How are you feeling?”

Sandpiper waggled her eyebrows teasingly and pattered her fluffy paws on the ground a little bit. “It is totally an honor,” she barked quietly, winking at the little Pug. She felt happy that someone had given up their time to just talk with her, not ordering her on suitors or anything of the sort. Just... chat.
