Striker nodded and smiled. “ Thank you, Alpha Shadow. “ He walked to the edge of the Rock and looked at the crowd. “ As you may have noticed, Alpha Max is not here. He unfortunately passed to the star wolves two weeks ago due to an infection. But in Fire, we have good news, Both Moon and Arian had successful litters, and prey is very plentiful. Hunter Trainee Tendril was appointed a full fledged huntress, and I have appointed Rubin to be my Beta. That is all, and Thank you” he bowed his head and backed up to where Shadow sat. Breathing out, he tried to stop his legs from shaking.

He stared in astonishment as Shadow said Riley had her pups. He caught Leo in the crowd and decided tto talk tto him after everything was done.

Shadow smiled the slightest bit, nodding in respect to the younger Alpha. "Well done," she murmured. Most Alphas had a hard time standing upon the ledge and making the announcements the first time. Striker made it look like nothing, a calm and confident outer face, just what an Alpha needed.

"Whoa wait, WHAT?" Smoke demanded, getting to her paws and staring at Alpha Striker with wide blue eyes. "Alpha Max is DEAD? But that’s impossible! He took on three opponents at once and then died of an INFECTION?" Insensitive? Maybe. But that was just how she rolled.

He looked at rue “ Of course! But we must wait till the trading is over”

Flurry drew her tongue over her shoulder a couple times, then glanced upwards with a rather bored look stamped onto her face. She scanned the crowds, when something blue and shiny caught her eye. The she-wolf's eyes widened with interest as she ruffled her fur and stood up. Another wolf had their paw on the.. feathers, from the looks of it, and had quite a sad aura enveloping them. Flurry couldn't resist approaching, since bright and colorful things were her weakness. She tilted her head and her tail bobbed as she came up to the wolf, a smile evident on her muzzle.

"Evening, Lightningwolf." Flurry commented, her voice sweet as she sat down, a glint shining in her eyes. "Those are some nice feathers you have right there, dare I say." The Huntress continued, raising an eyebrow as her grin grew wider.

"Let the trading section of this Meet begin!" Shadow announced. She had a host of questions regarding Max's death, but it seemed insensitive to ask questions of the Healer who tried and failed so recently to save him. Shadow leapt down gracefully from the rock back to the ground of hard-packed dirt below.

When the trading was announced, Leo immediately turned to see if anyone had brought flowers he might be able to trade for, but not before looking around to check where Sandpiper was, and could not find her in the crowd. Good for now. Just for a few more minutes.
