"My little ones were small when they were born too, all three of them, and well... He turned out pretty well." Shadow nodded towards Leo, who was still not standing at his full height, yet was about shoulder height compared to the Alpha herself, and she was large by any standards, male or female. "I wouldn’t worry about it so much unless they refuse to feed. Accalia is busy at the moment, from the looks of it, but if something is wrong, I’m sure she can spare time to help. That IS, after all, part of her job."

Shadow was more than a little frustrated a temporarily retired Healer had to come in place of the officially appointed Healer for the sudden and early birthing of Pups, but such was life. Things sometimes went wrong, sometimes the unexpected happened, and this had been unexpected.

"Let’s get you into the nursery, if you think you and your Pups are both well enough to move?"

Riley/female/L-pack/Location: Camp/2yrs and 2 months/Tags: Shadow, Leo, all wolves going to the meet
She replied, "I'm really sore, but its not that far. I will need help carrying the pups." She stood up and swayed from exhaustion and she bent her sore body over to pick up Lucy and Buddy. She looked around to see if her other three pups were picked up and her water and prey. She shakily stumbled with all her body parts screaming in agony and pain towards the nursery.

ATHENA

Athena shifted her head slightly closer to Mattias, her eyes peering up at him with worry glimmering in her blue eyes. “I just worry a bit sometimes. I know you won’t leave, but... I’ve never been a mother before and I just want to know that this is the life you wanted” she admitted sheepishly, lifting her head to rasp her tongue over the pups.

"Smoke, Sandpiper, fetch Toby and Cole if you can. Tell them we'll be leaving in a few minutes. Aala, help me and Leo carry the little ones." Shadow phrased it as an order, not a request. "Leo, you’ll take Buddy. And let Riley lean on you if she needs support." The Alpha's tone was brisk, but not cold, then she herself bent down to pick up young Myst, the first born of her litter, and started towards the nursery.

So many Pups all at once. It’s hard to keep track of them all now. Well, why am I complaining about Pups, of all things? I suppose there are worse things we could worry about. Shadow decided. What really would be a problem was if after all this time there had been NO Pups.

Leo dipped his head, glancing at Smoke and Sandpiper. "I’ll catch up soon." He pushed his shiny rocks over to the side where he could pick them up on the way out, then he scooped up the little Pup called Buddy, careful to grasp his scruff, and not to let his teeth touch the soft skin underneath.

He walked at Riley's side as the she-wolf got to her paws again, walking slowly as to allow her to lean on him for support if she was too weak or tired to manage on his own. Though it wasn’t because Shadow had said so, he told himself. He knew that he would’ve even if the Alpha HADN'T ordered him to.

"Athena, let me tell you this. When I was a Pup myself, and even a Trainee, my greatest joy was the days spent playing with my siblings, and when I was about three, maybe just a bit older, I helped Moon with her first litter. I always wondered what it would be like if one day, I would be able to look down at a litter of Pups and be able to say they were my children. Now I can. And I have the most beautiful she-wolf in the whole forest. How could I not be happy?" Mattias smiled, just from the corner of his lip. He meant what he said. Every word.

"This is the life I wanted and more. Is it the life you wanted? I know we didn’t exactly plan on having Pups just yet, and yet, here we are. Quite honestly, I couldn’t be happier. What about you?"

Riley/female/2yrs &2 months/L-pack/Location: Camp/Tags: Shadow, Leo, every wolf going to meet, pups
She stumbled and almost tripped. She sighed knowing that she didn't have to deal with the swinging of her stomach anymore, unless she had more pups in the future. Over the last couple of weeks, she has had major discomfort from her bulging stomach. She stumbled and this time tripped. She fell to the ground, but got back up with a grimace on her face.

ATHENA

Athena stretched her body out, and some of the pups were unlatched again and Athena fretted slightly but curled more tightly around them. “I’m very happy. I never thought I would have a mate. I just thought that I’d love day by day and a friend and a hunter, not a mate and a mother as well” she explained to Mattias, and tilted her muzzle to nuzzle into his neck.

Leo shifted to walk just the slightest bit closer to the young, pale furred she-wolf, pushing his shoulder lightly under Riley's slightly lower one to offer something to lean on after she had stumbled the first time. The last thing they needed right now was Riley falling on the uneven dirt and grassy ground and hurting herself, and ESPECIALLY not while she was already carrying on of her young ones!

"It’s okay to lean on me, y'know. It'd be better than fallin' out here, right?" The young wolf asked around his mouthful of the soft pup-fur. "Or am I really THAT repulsive?" He added the last part as a joke, but around the fur, he wasn’t sure if his tone came out quite right. Oops.

Although Mattias himself had in the past had very similar thoughts, in the case of Mattias, it was because he hadn’t gone out of his way to make contact with many wolves. He had a select few friends, and them aside, other wolves could approach him, but he wouldn’t make active attempts at making further friends, or consciously deepening the relationships he already DID have. This one just kind of happened overtime, and oh what a blessing it had become. He felt luckier and luckier with each and every day that passed.

"Whatever in the name of the sky-dogs ever made you think that? You’re just so...out there, you have ties and friends all throughout the Pack, you’re one of the most skilled Huntresses! One way or another, even if I hadn’t existed, you would’ve caught SOMEONE's eye." He firmly believed that, but it only made him all the more glad that he DID exist, and that he shared the same Pack as her.

Sandpiper
Lighting Pack | Hunter Trainee | Location: Camp | Tagging: Shadow, Toby

Sandpiper dipped her head in acknowledgment to Alpha Shadow, whizzing her tail over the ground once before turning around and peering across camp. She darted forwards, raising her muzzle and sniffing around the camp. "Toby?" The Trainee barked, uncertain of wether her mentor was still in the camp or not. Sandpiper's claws dug into the soft soil as the paced around, her nose waggling excitedly.

OOC2: Alpaca hasn't been on for at least two days, is it safe enough to say that Nova's finished giving birth..? I don't want to continue without her, but Accalia can't be stuck in limbo for a while..

She snorted as the last part was a joke and leaned on him. She replied saying, "Thx." She smiled and nuzzled his ear. She walked into the nursery and set down Lucy and crawled into the bed and laid down. She nudged Lucy to suckle, but she resisted.
