Cinnamon squinted, feeling a little dizzy as she had just woken up. It took her a good minute to focus, and she dipped her head with respect when she did. Her muzzle lightly brushed the ground, then the Trainee lifted her head. Cinnamon’s tail gave a couple greeting wags and she gave a smile. “Good morning, B-Beta Striker,” she stuttered, doing her best to stuff down a yawn as she curled her tail around her hind leg.

Sandpiper
(Mobile)

Sandpiper circled around once, her pelt sparking with anticipation. She wished to just bound into the forest and see what they could do right this second. However, the Trainee knew that would probably one of the worst ideas ever. A plan needed to be set before they could make any move forwards. Phooey.

Cinnamon shuffled her paws with clear embarrassment. "I know. My apologies," She said, offering a small smile in the Beta's direction. Thankfully, she was starting to feel more awake, and her vision was becoming less blurry. She sat down and flicked her ears, curling her tail gently around her front paws.

Accalia

Accalia raised an eyebrow as she lifted her head from her work. Little piles of leaves, stems, sprouts, flowers, and roots were scattered around her as she arranged them into neater groups and stashed them away. She blinked, then smiled. "Why, hello there, Mick! What can I do for you?" She asked, tilting her head as she absentmindedly peeled a leaf away from her paw.

Striker smiled. “ Hello cinnamon, as Talon had told you, I’m Beta, and Talons Mate” he wagged his tail a little bit and looked over at Talon. “ oh! I forgot to tell you! We have to be back here around midday, because I have to Do a ceremony for Tendril.” He shook his fur out and sat back down.

Cinnamon tilted her head with genuine interest. “Tendril’s ceremony? Awesome!” She giggled, already imagining what it would be like. She’d never seen a Trainee-to-Warrior/Hunter ceremony in her life. From what she picked up it wasn’t a common happening. The she-wolf had started to already think of what it would be like when she graduated.. then firmly shook out her fur. She’d just started training! “Are you going to watch Talon and I?” Cinnamon asked a little shyly.

Striker smiled at the trainee, and he saw her gettting a little nervous. “ Just for a little bit, Talon invited me, but I’ll have to get ready for the ceremony in a hour or two” he smiled, and looked over at Talon. “ I’ll leave you guys to it, and stay behind a little, so you guys can have your privacy.” He nuzzled Talon gently, and sat back down.

Wariness flickered across Toby's face. He looked questioningly at the larger male. "We're taking a Warrior with no training for large game into a hunt? Hunting large game has killed wolves with more training and strength," he pointed out. The ONLY position a lesser trained wolf would be able to run is back, chasing the creature forward, and if the elk or moose or whatever they found tried to kick, that could be it. "Oh wait! Everest! She’s also a Hunter, isn’t she?" Or maybe he was just thrown off by this.

"Even if a Warrior is brought in for whatever reason, it HAS to be a skilled Hunter who takes the actual kill. Making the kill doesn’t seem like the hard part, but if I recall, it is the second most dangerous piece aside from the slide-under maneuver. I was hoping you would make the kill, actually," he admitted.

"There has to be a better motive for it than that. We remember well. We lost Fish, and Blake shortly before. We lost Aiyana too, and it hangs heavy. They didn’t need to leave it as a reminder." It caused confusion. Wasn’t there supposed to be some sort of a truce or something? Karter twisted to gently groom back his shaking mate's fur. "She’s not gone, Aala. I can FEEL it. She’s not gone forever."

He had to believe that, and for the moment, he did. As long as June was under a mother's watchful eye, she would be okay, but the worst thought, even worst worse than death itself, was to realize she might grow up not knowing or acknowledging her birth parents. That was all the more reason he had to get her back.


SHADOW | Alpha | L-Pack | Tagging: Everest | Location: Camp


Shadow followed Golli with her eyes, confusion flickering across her face just for a moment. Golli was a kind wolf. Battle aside, as far as she could see, he was a gentle giant. What could have possibly happened, to have made drama about him? She hated the feeling, like she was a Trainee or a vain younger Warrior, hoping for news to spread around and received on all the happenings, but she couldn’t help her curiosity.

Finally Shadow's eyes turned back on Everest, the curiosity replaced with confusion. She tilted her head to one side. "Him? Golli? You sure you’ve got the right wolf?" She asked.

They were lucky, Mattias reflected. They were incredibly lucky they’d come out the other side of the Pack's recent darker times and had found each other. He couldn’t have been happier, he knew, for his heart skipped a beat at bee touch, however light, and he couldn’t help but smile when he looked her in the eyes.

"You’re beautiful," the red Warrior whispered, reaching up to gently lick her forehead. She was the most beautiful she-wolf in the world, and nothing and nobody could or would ever change his mind.

"Oh they trampled a little, but not me. More...each other." Arian nodded towards Roland and Trey. "The only thing that worried me was Dawn and Blaze," Arian admitted, looking down at the two of Moon's litter. "They came to me when you dropped them off, but neither of them have moved but to suckle since. They never played with the other Pups or made any attempts to even stand up," she admitted.

All the others had. Some more than others, granted, but all the others had at some point stood and wandered, even if it was only for a brief time. Dawn and Blaze, although the oldest of Moon's litter, had not.

Catania bounced lightly on her white paws. Although she was no longer a Pup herself, that crazy energy had only been SLIGHTLY tamed. She doubted it’d ever disappear entirely...and it was so much a part of her being and personality that she knew she didn’t WANT it to. "Hmmm...I dunno! But I’m too crazy anyway," she noted, though her voice was cheery. "I doubt I’d attract anyone enough either way. The one wolf I HAVE liked keeps pushing me away."

Her smile faltered just slightly at this, and she stopped her bouncing, but resumed it a moment later, though noticeably less enthusiastically as before, more than anything as a facade to distract her thoughts and make her look normal. Well...CATANIA normal, anyway.

"I've killed deer with my father before." Alita said, shifting her weight uncomfortably. "I may not be trained to only hunt, but I can still do it effectively." She looked to her Beta, then to Toby, hoping for approval.

Toby narrowed his eyes. "Must’ve been some hunt. Full grown deer have killed adult wolves," he remembered, and it wasn’t just stories. He’d seen it happen. He wasn’t eager to put a Warrior on the hunt for large game. Not by a longshot, but that call wasn’t his. Even if he’d been placed in charge of leading the hunt, he wasn’t in a position of authority enough to decide what ranks hunted or not.
