"I know, but even so." Shadow curled into as small a ball as she could, which was hard because of her shoulder wound. "I just... want to sleep," she murmured, but her mind was too troubled to properly rest, she knew.

"Dawn is almost here. Have...Have my parents gone? And did...any of my other family come?" She asked, trying to keep pain from her voice. In all this time, Fang and her daughters hadn’t once come for her.

Sariel came up beside Ash as the white furred Alpha spoke, and her gaze softened. Despite being one of the powerful Alphas, and one of the forest's strongest wolves, in the moment, the Alpha looked no more than a Pup, desperately hoping for her family to come and surround her with their warmth. "Fang, Merida and Anna?" She shook her head. "I’m so sorry."

Shadow's heart sank when Sariel told her that Fang and her daughters hadn’t even tried to come, though she had come to expect it by now. "Thank you, Sariel." She looked up as Everest spoke, and gave a small smile and a nod. "Of course. I love you too, Everest."
