Striker gasped at the she-wolfs impact. He rolled and quickly nipped at her ear. He jumped up and behind her to grab at her flanks, but no too hard. She needed the strength for tommorow.

OOC: Don’t worry. Everyone's still sparring, so we haven’t moved far, and either way, I reckon this big battle will last a few days.

"You’d think. Like I said, Shadow doesn’t go easy on ANYONE." She shrugged. "Though I’ve heard it said that Ash- her mate- is our Pack's best and strongest Warrior. Something about dire wolf blood in his veins, so they’re an even match. This's how they’d fight in a real battle, though I suspect...there'd probably be a BIT more teeth and claws."

Hearing the sobbing and howling of the familiar voice belonging to Blizzard, Fish stood and picked up her trout, walking over to join Blizzard, she dropped the trout between them. "He caught this for me in apology. I know he loved both of us. If you want, we can share this, honour the last catch he made for us." Fish wasn’t great at offering comfort, but for once, she understood the pain another wolf felt.

Dune

Dune yelped with laughter in her voice as she whirled around to face Striker, but found she couldn't thanks to him holding her down. She giggled and twisted around, breaking free of his grip and facing him. She bunched up all her energy and leapt over Striker, barely making it thanks to Striker being a fairly large wolf. As soon as she landed on her paws she turned around and leapt on his back, bringing him down to the grassy floor.

Tendril blinked at Ash and Alpha Shadow spar. It was almost like a dance. Swift movements, agile turns, and quick darts here and there. It truly was stunning to watch. Tendril nodded lightly and sat down. "Have you ever fought in a battle?" the Hunter Trainee asked softly. She immediately blushed at her straightforwards question. Rude. "I-I mean, you don't have to answer, that was a bit.." she trailed off and shuffled her paws awkwardly.

Ash felt the nip at his shoulder, and responded with a swing from his other forepaw, the ginger-orange fur streaking through the air and contrasting against his black coat.

Fish nodded faintly to Blizzard. She could understand that. She couldn’t eat the whole thing herself right now, even if normally she’d eat that and more. As Cody approached, the Warrior leaned into Cody's touch. "I had so much I wanted to tell him," she murmured, closing her eyes to shut out the world around her. Sometimes it had been hard to picture going to the river without him and not sharing the same space, but to not share the same EARTH with him anymore...that was another thing altogether. She lifted her head and stared up at the darkening sky, anger and grief mixing as she glared up at the sky-dogs. She had never had an encounter with a sky-dog, but she’d heard that sometimes, they sent messages or something of the sort to loved ones. The Warrior made herself a promise right then and there.

Never again. Never again will I leave anything unsaid. So I guess...with that, I have some things I need to say before I do anything else. She blinked up at the stars. So far away...he's so far away now...he respected me, cared for me...sometimes he sounded like he was just about ready to say something to Alpha for her occasional mistreatment of me, and...he didn’t think I was crazy. He thought I was FUN.

Smoke flicked her tail dismissively, swishing it across the dusty ground. "Nah man, it’s all good. I’m a fairly straightforward kind of wolf myself," she pointed out, and...she wasn’t wrong. She always spoke her mind, said it how she saw it...however that was, without much in the way of care for how it made other wolves think or feel. "As for if I’ve seen a real battle...once. And it was nothing huge. It was just a little skirmish, and I came away with this!" The she-wolf turned to reveal a small white scar parting the fur on her left flank. "Battle scar!"

Shadow ducked the blow, but felt the air move over her as she just narrowly managed to dodge. She grinned. At seven years old, the Alpha's skills weren’t quite as sharp as they had been when she was a younger wolf, but she was still a formidable fighter, still seeming to make an even match. Though it weighed heavily on her mind that if the raven spoke the truth, there would be a battle tomorrow. A REAL battle, so more than anything...she was using this as a way of working on her skills, betting a little practice in beforehand.

She threw herself forward without hesitation. A head-on attack if too slow could be costly in a fight against a Warrior as experienced as Ash, but Shadow was hardly a slow wolf, and she was most certainly a confident one. Tensed and at the ready, the white Alpha sprang.

Ash felt her pounce slam into him, and he slid back, since he wasn't fully balanced with the one paw up. He pulled his back legs in, and sprang back with the same force.

Shadow growled, narrowing her eyes as he slammed into her, and she shrank back, trying to absorb the worst of the impact, but was still shoved backwards. She struck forward, slashing at his chest.

He felt her claws across his chest, and he let himself move with the blow, instead of against it, so it only made it about halfway across his chest. He growled, and snapped at her foreleg.
