He turned to Erle " I was some sort of a father figure to Sand and coal, and it was really cool. I can't imagine what it feels like to be an actual father. You'll do great."

Dune cast a smile at Arian. Her face was still contorted with worry, though her eyes seemed soft and caring. “Thank you. There is no more advice truer than that.” She swished her fluffy tail over the grass as she carefully peeled off the final feather. “Ahhh, at last.” She blinked at the bird with satisfaction, the bent down and took a small bite of the wing. The meat was savory, and tasted delicious. Small things could pack a good punch. Or taste, in this case.

Athena frowned in confusion. “That was my response to the attack” she stated.

Moon glanced up at Jasmine before she bent down and took a mouthful of the herbs and grimaced, but the honey helped with the bitter taste. “I’m-“ she began, but another contraction overtook her and she groaned.

The shewolf chuckled at her sister.

"Oh I know about small wolves who can be amazing fighters. Our rivals have one, and we have another. I’m sure he’s around here somewhere. I believe you. If you think you’re a more formidable fighter, would you be open to joining our group of Warriors?" She asked.

Alita wanted to immediately say yes, but common sense prevented her from doing so. She had no idea what a warrior would be expected to do, and didn't want to get herself into something she couldn't get out of.
"Hmm... Warriors. What kind of responsibilities does that come with?"

"I haven’t even BIRTHED mine yet, haven’t seen their faces, and I already know that while I was a great Warrior, I will be ten times that Warrior once I’ve first nursed my young." She smiled wryly. "Were you a Warrior before you had Sand and Coal?" She asked. She’d seen Dune around, but...had never really paused to interact with her. Or...anyone, now that she stopped to think about it.

"I didn’t say you didn’t have a response." Mattias stood again and shook out his bright coat. "Here. I’ll show you. Attack me. Use whatever tactics come to mind. Try to take me by surprise," he urged her. "Another rule of combat is to always be prepared for the unexpected. Your opponent can use moves you don’t know, or trickery, and no matter what, even if you don’t know the move, always be ready to retaliate."

"It’s alright." Jasmine's voice was soft, calm. That was one of the things that made her a good Healer. Even in some of the most severe situations, she always carried an air of calm with her, in hopes it would soothe her patients. This time was no exception to that. She placed a paw just above the swollen part and lightly applied pressure. "When you feel this, push, okay?" She asked, glancing at the other female.

Shadow looked back to Alita as she asked. "Assisting with guarding our borders, chasing away enemy wolves, and fighting for the Pack when a situation calls for it," she explained. "Many Warriors eventually get the chance to train a Trainee someday as well, and come with me to the bi-monthly gathering between the Lightning and Fire Packs, which is actually tonight," she remembered. "It sounds big, but all jobs here are...relatively simple."

Alita nodded, and did well containing her excitement. All that told of it was her tail thrashing furiously against the ground. "I accept."

OOC: Ohhh man I really wanted to say "I'm a warrior, aren't I?" but it doesn't fit. Aghhhhhh. Viper I think will get this XD.

Dune swallowed her bit of jay, spitting out a small, hollow bone. She tilted her head at Arian. “Of course you will be. When I was younger, I was in a battle skirmish with those wretched Lightningwolves. There was a mother there- her name floats from my mind- and her son was there as well. A wolf had tried to linger for the poor son’s shoulder. However, the mother immediately recognized the threat and rushed at the attacking enemy wolf.” She dipped her head, unstick in a feather of that paw. “All I can say is that wolf did not get close enough to harm her son.” Dune forced a weak grin on her face. The second question was much simpler, thank the Sky-Dogs. “Why yes, I certainly was.” Her tail wagged twice as she took another bite gingerly out of the bird.
