Link had been laying underneath a small human structure that connected to the top of the building. He often laid there when he slept, it protected him from the winds that were known to get bad up at their height. It was good for rain protection too, he hated the rain and getting wet. He had been awake for a little bit now, he often woke when the light started to trickle down through the clouds. He just didn’t have much motivation to get up at the time when he did wake up.

He rose to his paws and moved out of his little hiding area, stretching each leg individually as he came into view. Once out in the open, he shook his pelt out and dislodged any dirt or leaves that may have clung there before he took a seat and watched the area around him. He watched the human and their vehicles move below there, sometimes catching the tiniest glimpse of other cats moving way down there. He often wondered what it would have been like to be chosen for a job where he wasn’t constantly stuck at the top of this building.

Saffiah had only woken up and actually moved herself an hour or two ago. She valued her sleep and didn’t always like to interrupt it just to walk around and make sure everything was still as it should be. But then again, she liked her job and wasn’t about to complain about it.

She walked away from the kitty houses and back towards their main area, walking down an alleyway which seemed relatively empty. Luckily there weren’t any humans here, she had had issues in the past where they’ve tried to scoop her up and then found out the wrong way not to touch her. She flicked her ears back to listen to the sounds of footfalls, making sure no one was following which no one was at the time being. Once she had decided to be done patrolling for a little while she hopped up ledges to get on top of a smaller building, she could see other cats she knew atop ones around her as she laid down. She placed her head on her paws and watched the activity going on around her.

the black molly couldnt help but feel a bit annoyed when she realized there was another she-cat trying to get the attention from outlander, and she was about to roll her eyes when her bright eyes landed on the source of the familiar voice and they widened a bit when they recognized the she-cat. immediately, her focus was off flirting with the handsome-yet-slightly-dimwitted and onto the council member who was quite far off from the skybuilding that she wasnt supposed to spend her life. the ebony she-cat gracefully lept from object to object, gaining enough momentum to glide from the trashcan onto the rooftop, landing solidly on all four-paws just beside the pale fluffy molly, and she let out a low "meredith, let me escort you back to the skybuilding. the other council members could banish you for talking to outlander; theyve done it before, before you were on the council and before i was a page. i saw it happen and my goodness it was humiliating. i really think you're an excellent addition to the council, and i really dont want that to happen to you. please.'"

the petite she-cat sat down on her hind quarters, wrapping her tail around her paws as she kept her warm eyes locked on the larger tom as he spoke and played around a bit with hunting. she couldnt help but notice how thick his fur was and mentally was thankful to her parents genetics that she had short-fur now that the summer was coming; it was still early in the day but she already felt the heat. "honestly, if you dont mind, i dont see the problem with it. worst case scenario, i can either work on helping improve some of your techniques, or even just block an escape route for me to keep prey from escaping. you'll have your uses." her voice was both genuinely sweet and a bit playful.

the pale tom wasnt at all offended by her little jab at him about his sleeping habits; now, it it had been any other cat, he may have had a more grumpy reaction. but with lynette, not only was she technically his superior, as an alpha guard, but they had always had a pretty good relationship like this, picking fun at each other but always without actual cruelty in their words or hearts. plus, the tom would be lying if he said he didnt find the oriental cat's unique look absolutely beautiful, and he would admit, at least to himself, that he did get caught staring at her on occasion. watching the way her sleek body glided down from the roof to the ground beside him, he had to shake his head to clear the thoughts away and felt himself smirk a bit at her final comment about brawling. he gave a playful scoff, taking the chance when she looked away at the streets to slink forward a step and nip at her hip gently, completely playful before taking a few steps back. he winked at her as he purred out his words. "come at me then lynette. prove your strength against a big, bulky tom like me."

xxxxNebula held her breath as she watched her son hunt down the lizard. At first, he seemed successful when he had the lizard captured by his tail, but things took a turn for the worst. The lizard escaped from her son's grasp and left his tail behind in the process. Oliver spat out the tail and went to capture the lizard, but his attempts failed. She held back a sigh of disappointment as her son collided with the wall that the lizard had escaped into. "What did I do wrong?" She whispered to herself, her gaze still on her son as he stumbled backwards toward her. He was the secret son of the council member, Eclipse. He should have so much more potential in him, but it appeared that she had done something wrong in the process of training him. Her other son, Orion, had been successful under her training, but Oliver was proving that he was nothing like his older brother or his strong father. Maybe the council had been right in their decision.
xxxx"Come, my son. You need rest." With a flick of her tail, she rose to her paws and padded away to the spot where the queens and their kits would sleep and eat. She masked her disappointment, but she was not looking at Oliver.

He was not really hungry, but he did not want the pigeon to go to waste. "I wouldn't want it to go to waste.. sure." He responded, moving forward to join the she-cat and tear into the pigeon. He spat out some feathers before he reached the flesh of the bird. Once he had taken a few bites, he sat back and licked at his lips once more. "Heard of anything interesting lately?" He inquired to the other page, lifting his paw to lick it and rub against his face.

"Why would you waste a perfectly good bird?" He questioned, head tilting slightly as he stared at the feline. Suddenly, he squinted his eyes at the she-cat as a realization dawned on him. She looked familiar, did she not? A little bigger than what he remembered. "Hey, aren't you.." He began before Eris intervened and hopped onto the garbage bin to stand next to the feline. Ah, it was Meredith! A council member who definitely should not be here and talking to him. Did she come all this way to shove a pigeon onto him? He thought she would have more important things to attend to. He sat there watching the two felines converse with one another. "Your secret is safe with me." He chirped, giving a flick of his tail.

She moved over slightly to give the tom room and personal space among the carcass. She'd plucked the feathers individually before she ate what she couod of the pigeon. Once she'd eaten her fill she sat down on her haunches, licking her maw as she thought about his question. "Unfortunately I haven't," She shrugged, "Although Meredith, the council member, has been sneaking out recently," Chava added quickly as it came to mind, "A little birdy told me," She gave him a playful wink, "It isn't my place to say, but she's acting quite childish in my opinion, I'm fairly certain it's probably boring up there, but clearly the other members have found themselves something to occupy with," She shrugged. Chava wasn't the type to keep her opinions to herself, she spoke her mind quite often.
"Forgive me for... speaking unkindly about our council members," she's let out a soft sigh, "I respect them, however they do have flaws and they don't even try to hide them."

"Hey!" The lithe cat laughed, "Look at me, I'm strong," Lynnette teased standing tall, squaring her shoulders back and marching a few steps forward before she sprung at him. Although it was probably a 40/50 percent chance on her end of the stick, though she couldn't deny a challenge, especially not one of her own. She took the pale tom's tail in her jaws waiting for him to spring at her. Taking the chance once he had done it, to doge his attack and latch onto his shoulder with a gentle bite and sheathed claws. Using her hind legs to push herself forward, knocking the tom off - balance a little. She was a logic feline; a quick thinker, it came in handy for such things.
She'd learned her tactics when she lived in the barn outside the city. Her families shelter was seemed out by intruders and predators, learning the skills she's learned would be important, and still is. She'd impressed the council enough the find herself as one of the Alpha gaurds.

"and i know the stories, but let's face it, kitty, they have no one good enough to replace me." she purred slyly, a hint of teasing in her voice that indicated that meredith shouldn't be taken so seriously. she turned to outlander as he approached. "thank you," she mewed after he spoke, basking in the feeling of importance. "look, i think the rules are ridiculous. i want to be able to stretch my legs, and frankly, no one is going to stop me!" meredith leaned in close to eris, until she was nose-to-nose with the page. "...right?" she asked, blue eyes narrowing slightly.

He didn’t know Rosaline that well, she was about a year younger which meant she became a council member later than he had. But he had never had any issues with the she-cat, she was friendly and he liked to have cats to talk to.

Saffiah flicked her ear back in the direction she heard footfalls before lifting her head as she heard the voice. She got to her paws upon seeing Quinn, another guard, but unlike her, he was an alpha guard. She nodded, interested in the idea of something to do at that moment in time “Hello Quinn, yeah, a patrol does sound good right now,” she agreed, throwing a glance around the rooftop. She hadn’t been doing anything, so a chance to get off her bum and do something made her paws itch. “Oh the rats, yeah, I haven’t checked up on that in a little bit so that’s a good call.” she said with a nod. She was glad that it had been Quinn that approached her, she had never had issues with the Tom in the past so she liked him.

Kona had only arrived at the humans’ house four days ago, as soon as they had their weird paws on her they slapped a pink collar on with a gold tag on it that said her name and the house she lived in. She had spent the first two hiding. Mainly under the couches because the smaller humans couldn’t reach her under there. She came from a place where the cats had their own individual like cages, and there wasn’t a big open space like this for little humans to grab at tails. But, the third day she became adventurous, she explored the house a little and found it wasn’t too bad. Definitely different from what she was used to, but not horrible. Today she got to go outside, they had a fenced in yard and she was allowed out, the humans opened the door for her willingly.

She stepped hesitantly outside, she couldn’t even remember the last time she had been out. Maybe it was when she was very little, and had a mom. Maybe her mom was out there somewhere looking for her. She shook out her pelt, almost to dislodged the thoughts as she leaped out of the doorway and into the open yard. There was a garden, with plants to hide in. And a dog house, but a dog didn’t live there, in fact there wasn’t a dog anywhere. She explored the yard a little before hopping to the top of the fence and stayed there, watching the area around her. She caught the distant scent of other cats in the distance and wondered if their humans had small humans too.

xxxxSeeing the dejected look on Oliver's face and his body movement, Nebula felt her heart sink for her poor son. The next words uttered from Oliver's mouth made her heart sink further. He only wanted to make her proud, and she only wanted him to be successful in his life. She wanted him to have strong kits with an equally as strong queen to continue her legacy. He was only young.. he had time to learn. There was still hope for her son. Putting a smile on her maw, she turned to face her son. "I am proud of you, Oliver. I can see that you are trying your best. I'm sorry that I'm so hard on you. I only want to see you rise and never fall." She told her son, moving closer to him to nuzzle his cheek with her own. "I have someone I can speak to. Don't you fret, my dear." She added, giving a small flick of her tail. The only problem was finding the tom she was thinking of. Her son wanted to speak to a page, but she would do him one better. She would go directly to a council member and beg him to reconsider. She would do anything for her kits to be successful, even beg.

He lashed his tail a little bit, wondering if the she-cat was tormenting some poor cat. He remembered going up with her on kit alley. Honestly, he could not stand her, but he could not say such things. However, it appeared that he was not the only one who felt so against the council member. Chava seemed to think that Meredith was childish, and he completely agreed. "Don't worry, I agree with you. I can't imagine having to hide your face from everyone, but it is for their own safety.. not everyone agrees with their ruling. We do have alpha guards for a reason." He noted, lifting a paw to lick it and rub it against the side of his face to clean off the blood from the dead bird.

He added, peering over his shoulder back to where he had come into the alleyway.
