━━━ ❝ ADELAIDE DENIZ ❞ ━━━
adelaide arrived three days ago, early in the morning before 5, and this morning she was up at 4:45am cleaning out stalls, feeding her three horses and taking marli for a walk. marli spent most her time on a lead, tied up when adelaide rode so she could keep an eye on her, and then when adelaide was mucking stalls out, she was tied to the wheel burrow or adelaide herself. on occasion when working flare, adelaide put marli in flare's stall after it was cleaned out, put a few toys in there and the pup was fine for hours. flare was a thoroughbred x german warmblood filly, she turned three about four months ago. she was already huge, hitting 16"2 hands currently, adelaide knew she'd be taller than her other two horses, she was just massive already, she was also very, very hot and excitable like any thoroughbred, unlike her half brother and sister, who'd been bred from two seperate thoroughbred x german warmblood mares to a german warmblood stallion making them both mostly warmblood, flare was from a pure bred thoroughbred mare crossed to the same german warmblood stallion, making her half and half. now, not to say all thoroughbreds were hot, because they were one hundred percent not all hot, some of them were as quiet as the shetland pony next door, but flare, she lived up to the "hot red thoroughbred mare" stereotype. often people asked if flare was in pain with the ammount of foolishness she did, the bucking the rearing, but she'd had eight top vet opinions, x-rays and ultrasounds on her entire body, nothing was wrong, she was just a brat, came with being a hand raised foal, see, flare's dam (mother) passed away when she was about a week old, having been bitten by a snake and found deceased in the paddock, adelaide had to hand raise flare as they couldn't get a foster mare to take her. flare was very respectful in matters of the ground, but she liked to push buttons, see how far she could go without getting into too much trouble. adelaide haltered the mare with a leather head collar and lead the big mare towards the cross ties, her metal shoes clacking against the concrete stable corridor. she walked the mare into the cross ties then turned her around and throwing the rope over the mares neck she clipped the two leads onto the side clips of flare's halter and started to brush her down. the mare had 4 long white stockings and a big broad blaze, she was certainly an eye catcher that's for sure, she had the movement to match, when she behaved, she looked like a seasoned competition horse. when adelaide finished grooming flare, she ran the comb through the mares mane a few times then a brush through her tail before she started to saddle the mare up, leather brushing boots on all four legs and then a grey saddle pad, conveniently but unintentionally matching adelaide's grey breeches. she put white half pad on then the dressage saddle and fastened the girth before grabbing the ps of sweden bridle and pulling it gently over the mares ears, fixing the saddle pads matching grey ear bonnet. the mare flicked her tail as she felt her girth tighten up again and then followed adelaide out the stable towards the indoor arena. adelaide was careful of the riders already in there, seeing another young horse be silly, she wasn't phased, but knew to be careful. for everyone's saftey, adelaide always put a green ribbon in the mares tail, a green ribbon meant "green/inexperienced horse", a red ribbon meant that the horse kicked, which while flare did kick out, people with a brain knew not to get too close to young horses as sometimes they kicked anyway, so a green ribbon was the easy solution.
their warm up started interesting, flare had a massive trot, covering the arena ground in seconds, and when she was warmed up enough to canter, the mare's stride started off super large, and eventually shortened after a full arena length, the mare's tail begun to ring and after a few more strides, flare shortened her stride even more and handstand kicked out her hind legs, adelaide however didn't shift in the saddle instead, she gave the mare a half halt pulling her head up and kept riding while flare did a few more bucks, stopping and rearing twice before carrying on beautifully.
