โ€Youโ€™re very welcome, Aster. Like I said, feel free to stay as long as you need. Weโ€™re happy to have you around.โ€ Heโ€™d noticed the femaleโ€™s slight change in attitude. She seemed perhaps happier. Or hopeful. He had Serai to thank for that. Her reassurance had quite an effect. He was glad to have an experienced friend on hand here. The subject of food was brought to mind as he looked around, it occurring to him that not all of these dogs had humans to care for them. He wasnโ€™t sure how long it had been since some of these dogs had eaten. Hours of travelling to this location, heโ€™d not seen a scrap of food, apart from the occasional washed up rat. Facing the clouds, he let out a long sigh. There had to be something better out there. Maybe by the time morning arrived, they could decide their next move. That was counting everyone chose to stay. As two more females arrived, Max stepped forward, sending both an acknowledging look. โ€œWelcome. Youโ€™re both staying I hope? What are your names?โ€ He looked to both with curious eyes.

The dog had a powerful aura about him. She could tell that. A future leader perhaps? Though he did seem a little hesitant. Maybe this was his first time in holding authority. Quinn felt she could sense that from him. His inspiring words allowed a surge of hope in her chest. Still, if a pack were to form, she wasnโ€™t entirely sure what she could offer. After all, she had lived a luxurious life as a pet. She couldnโ€™t hunt, she couldnโ€™t scavange or fight. Sheโ€™d either adapt, or suffer the consequences of her sheltered life. Quinn hoped she could fit into pack life. Lucky for her, the dog in charge seemed to have nothing but good intentions in mind, and she felt this as he approached. She dipped her head in respect, smiling up at him. โ€œIโ€™m Quinn. And yes, we do hope to stay around for a little. If youโ€™ll allow us.โ€ After saying this, she glanced at Kona, checking if what she said was on her friendโ€™s mind too.

september was halfway through her piece of ham when pawsteps and the faint sloshing of water sounded from around the corner. she immediately snapped into motion, stepping protectively over her prized meat, waiting for the opponent to arrive. her hackles raised in a hostile demeanor as a retriever came into the alleyway. september's lips had only begun to peel back into a snarl when the other canine introduced themself. her ears pricked in surprise, not prepared for such friendly behavior. dogs were starving, and this one was no exception. september could see most of the dog's ribs poking through her flesh, and her fur quickly lay flat, her hostile eyes softening. she had fully expected maddened behavior, as that was what she had seen in the other animals she had come across.

but felicity seemed friendly enough, and september felt like she could trust such a dog with her name. "my name's september. pleased to meet you, felicity," she said with an acknowledging dip of her head. her tail wagged slightly behind her to show that she meant no harm. september watched as felicity dug through the trash before pulling out her own meal, scarfing it down quickly. the blue merle turned back to her own food, finishing it in a few ravenous bites before turning back to the other dog. "did you happen to hear that howl? i think i'm going to go investigate if you'd like to join me."

Kona couldn't help but smile as she took in the number of dogs that had made it out, it was quite a difference from the two or three she'd assumed would have survived the shaking earth. She snapped out of her thoughts as the large male spoke to her and her companion, her ears perking up as she turned to the female German Shepherd "I'd love to stay.. if we can.." The small Aussie turned back to the lead dog, her nub of a tail wagging slowly, something she hadn't done in what felt like a long time "I'm Kona.. it's nice to meet you all." With a smile, she glanced over the whole pack, letting them know that she was greeting them as well "I'm so glad so many of us are here."

Chip
Male, 1 year, goldendoodle, Mentions;_ ; @ Tiger, Cookie
_____________________________

Chip walked along with them, stopping occasionally when he thought he had seen food-good food-but it was always a false alarm. He looked at Tiger as he spoke; "Uh... He glanced around at the ruined buildings ad torn up street. He would usually be up to go explore and find another dog to aid them but the surrounding area was completely new. At least, it didn't look familiar and he still felt a bit shaken from what had happened. It had been terrifying and he thought he was gonna die. What had made it worse was that his Mother and owners had disappeared as well, and he felt alone. He was so joyful when he found Tiger and Cookie and to be around others. He shook his head. "You can go, I'll stay with Cookie. We'll wait for you," He said, not wanting to admit that he was fearful of getting lost and losing them.

"We'll stay right here," Chip smiled, tail wagging. Cookie should stop and rest, Tiger was right about that part.

He hadn't heard Cookie's growl. Or he didn't want to. Instead, he hopped after Cookie to her spot, standing a few feet away from the Rottweiler. "Of course we have to do this!" He barked. "You could get hurt or even worse-killed!" He whispered the last word, as if fearing he'd die if he said it any louder. Chip's tone was friendly, childish and rather happy/

Chaos
Male, 5 year, German shep x Husky, Mentions; _; @ Dante
_____________________________

He nodded. Dante. His eyes remained glued to the ground up ahead, although he moved much slower than he wanted to through the water. He felt his coat gathering more water and although it wasn't that long, it still pulled a thim, making it harder to walk. Chaos shot a few glances at Dante every now and then, still not completely sure whether or not he could trust his new companion. He was one to travel alone, not with another. But for some reason he wasn't bothered by this dog.
Chaos ignored his growling stomach, the faster they got there the better. Perhaps he should've eaten that rat. Then again, he could have died from it if he had eaten it so he quickly changed his mind again.

He looked at Dante as he began to speak. Chaos frowned. "Um, yeah, I was," He replied, quickly turning to watch where he was stepping. The question hadn't offended him in anyway, just brought back good memories about his past life.
Free food, Free hugs, and just being around Misty and his owners made him feel joy. Now he wouldn't feel any of that again though; thanks to the destruction. Chaos lifted his head and faced Dante again. "What about you?"

Aster
Female, 4 year, German shep x Irish Wh, @ Maxwell, Serai, Kona, everyone
_____________________________

"Thank you Serai," Aster nodded her head with thanks before looking back up, this time at Maxwell. "Thank you as well," She said. If it wasn't for his howl, she wouldn't have ended up here with medical advice for her leg and feeling hope inside her.

Aster looked up at the two new arrivals. She was curious to see how many dogs would show up after this. What if one dog was trying to come but they couldn't? She shook her head, trying not to think of all who had died during the destruction. She imagined the terror and how helpless those had felt, and rid the thought form her head.
Where would they stay though? Her eyes looked over the once nice city. Maxwell spoke of finding somewhere safe but Aster looked around in doubt. Where would somewhere safe be? Outside of the city? She'd been outside and didn't mind it but it was still quite dangerous. At least what she could remember. The destruction felt not that long ago though, animals were still probably hiding in fear.
She averted her eyes from the dull landscape, turning to the newcomers, although she didn't introduce herself, she hung back.

Castile 1

Postby White Eagle » Sat Jan 05, 2019 1:08 pm

โ™œ ๐•ฎ๐–†๐–˜๐–™๐–Ž๐–‘๐–Š โ™œ
Male-3 years- Bisexual- Pomsky (Pomeranian-Husky) Tags: Open

โžคRoaming around in an abandoned city can be lonesome. The eerie silence of a once lively and tireless city made the dog whimper at all of the memory with his owner. Each building he passed played a memory of something the pomsky did with his beloved friend. As he walked passed the buildings he decided to take a detour into a wooded area in which he strolled on for a few minutes until he could smell a pungent odor. The irony smell resulted in a massive trigger alarm to go off in his head. 'Someone has been hurt!' The pomsky soon started to dash towards the owner of the blood which caused him to pause for a brief moment to ensure he still had the scent.
Since Castile was farther away originally he could not hear the howl that Maxwell erupted out earlier. But that did not mean Castile could not help another. His legs were causing impressions as they ran through some of the muddy terrains, yet the dog did not care. Ever since he was a little pup he was taught to help save lives whether it be therapeutically or physically. Since Jack was a part-time doctor's assistant at the local hospital so sometimes he was given tasks to alert and carry medical supplies for possible patients. Which luckily for him he still had on his medical vest which held many basic and life-saving tools.
After nearly half an hour of running, he could hear voices from a few dogs meters away, "Hello? Is anyone need of medical assistance? I am Castile a first aid dog for the Lower Manhattan Hospital Center." The male slowly stepped out from the shadows just to not scare the possible strangers or to not seem aggressive and hostile. Anyone could tell he was a service dog without looking at his collar because of his blue and white vest and the red cross on both sides. His pouches were on both sides and the back and each had the hospital information on the flaps.

โ€œThatโ€™s what Iโ€™m here for. You take care now, Aster. I know thereโ€™s not much I can offer you, but let me know if thereโ€™s anything more I can do.โ€ Serai turned to greet the pair of newcomers, wearing a beaming smile as she approached. โ€œWelcome, both. Iโ€™m Serai. Good to see more faces turning up.โ€ She looked the pair over quickly. Neither seemed wounded. Just looking very relieved to have found them. It was lucky theyโ€™d gotten out quite unscathed. Serai was impressed by how little some dogs were wounded. She herself had a few scrapes, but nothing major. She repeated both their names in her head, hoping not to forget them. There were quite a lot of identities to remember now. Sheโ€™d try her very best not to forget anyone.

Serai was anxious to get moving. Her top priority was to know of a safe place to spend the night. Did Maxwell have a place in mind? She wasnโ€™t entirely sure. Judging by the old chain he wore around his neck, he looked to be a dog that didn't have a lot of free roam. Serai however, knew this city like the back of her hand. There were a number of place sheโ€™d lead her pack in the event of a storm, blizzard or drought for protection. The subway was always her favourite. But that may have flooded by now. Then there was the abandoned apartment complex on a block in Queens. But that may have come down with the quakes. She was silent as she thought deeply. If Maxwell didnโ€™t have a place in mind, maybe theyโ€™d have time to check both out.

Tiger was relieved he wouldnโ€™t have to send the young dog off alone. Cookie seemed agitated with the help they were trying to provide, but that didnโ€™t put him off. Sometimes, that was just the case. Those in need dont always understand how much help they really need. โ€œChip is right. Youโ€™ll never make it much further on that leg. Just hold tight. Iโ€™ll be as quick as I can.โ€ Tiger bounded through the deep water, feeling it rise to his chest as he sprinted further down the street towards an area heโ€™d hope to find another body. He needed someone with strength. Or maybe knowledge of what to do. Either would be useful. Or more beneficial than what little he could offer.

Like that, a miracle seemed to appear. A dog stood directly ahead of Tiger as he rounded a corner, as if coincidentally wearing a vest providing much needed medical supplies. Tiger had no idea of this just yet, but the words that followed gave him great relief. A dog looking for wounded who needed help? What sort of miracle was this? โ€œYes! Over here!โ€ He barked, wasting no time in approaching this interesting looking figure. He wasnโ€™t shy in his approach, and skidded to a stop just short of the pomsky. โ€œIโ€™m looking for help. Thereโ€™s a dog back there. She canโ€™t walk. Hurry.โ€ Cookieโ€™s situation wasnโ€™t currently a matter of life or death, but he was more anxious of waiting too long. Her injury could worsen, or another earthquake could strike, or maybe they would be left behind by the dog whoโ€™d called out. Tiger began leading the way, stopping short a few yards to look behind him. โ€œThis way.โ€ He barked.

Good to be free again.โ€ He leapt expertly over a high pile of rubble, his underbelly just scathing the top edge of the rocks. The water was becoming unbearable, slowing their movements and affecting their pace. โ€œThe city took this pretty bad. I mean, thereโ€™s not a whole lot left. The wave mustโ€™ve gone on for miles. The extent of destruction amazed him. But Dante was yet to find out just how badly the entire state had suffered.

โ€œCanโ€™t wait to get out of this damn water. Hopefully wherever this howl is leading us, thereโ€™ll be some place we can dry off.โ€ Dante wasnโ€™t used to travelling with a companion, but the company he found pleasant. Should a pack be awaiting them, however, he wasnโ€™t so sure. Dante was never usually good at following orders as he was making them. But maybe theyโ€™d find strength in numbers. Maybe other survivors had skills he didn't. There was always the option of walking away if things went south.

โ€œThere. Looks like we made it, Chaos.โ€ A low platform provided dry footing to a gathering of dogs, and Dante suddenly felt his tail waving slowly behind him as hope and promise rose to his chest. It was a big group. Slightly overwhelming, but looked to be taking in new arrivals. Without hesitation, he approached, stepping to the very centre of the group where a black dog just finished making an announcement. โ€œHey there. You taking in new arrivals? I wouldnโ€™t mind staying โ€˜round for a while.โ€

Drizzle gave a slight whimper as she glanced over at Kona And Quinn, she wanted to help but she was much to shy. She whimpered and dug threw the ruble, looking for remains and prey. She glanced at her side, it was still blood-smelling as she licked it. She spotted a dead rat and pounced over to it. She ate a little bit of it and then spit it out. It was gross. She sniffed it again and realized it was most likely laying there for days, and the Huge wave hit it and it makes it taste salty. She mumbled as she threw the rat under the ruble. Her side hurt so bad. She lay down and licked her side, her leg didn't hurt as her side but she did take notice of it. She lay for 10 minutes then she padded up, once more, again digging threw the ruble. Then something popped into her mind, she wondered if chip was around, but as she looked around and gave a sniff, there was no sign of chip or his scent.

Fiery

4yrs - Strait - Male - Doberman - With Dogs - Mentions: Ajax - Tags: Open

Fiery Jumped off the huge building he had been sitting on and gave a low growl, still upset by his owner. He wasn't in a good mood at all. He looked at his collar and sighed, it was hard for him to do this but he must. He dug a small whole and threw the collar in it, then he covered it back up. He kicked some bricks over it and growled again. He left it and glanced at Ajax, it looked like none of the dog's were doing anything. He wondered who would be their alpha, maybe the dog that sent the strange howl. He wondered at he stalked over to a puddle water pond and gave a drink. He made a weird face because it was salty, but it was all he had, it was super salty. He looked up in the sky, it look cloudy and rainy. It was only 12 hours since the huge wave had struck all of these dogs. He shivered. He thought the little black dog, sparrow and where he was now. But it didn't matter where he was, because fiery had a new life now.

Dove

5yrs - Strait - Female - Husky- Alone - Mentions: Chaos - Tags: Kona, Quinn

Dove woke up from a long and dreadful nap, trying to forget about the huge wave striking. She was trying to focus on the white blur of fur she saw. She was sure it was her brother, Chaos. She ran across the ruble and she scents 3 other dogs. She peered around the corner of a torn down house and she saw 3 dogs, One digging in the ruble, the other 2 talking to each other. She padded over to the ruble and sniffed it, trying to pick up any scent. She wasn't going to join these strange dogs, she rather be a loner, and follow the strange howl by herself, But she might as well ask these dogs if they've seen chaos, but she refused to tell them anything else. She padded over to them and narrowed her eyes. "Hello, have you seen a dog like me pass by here, his name is Chaos." she said to the dogs. She ignored the whimpering dog digging in the ruble.

Ghost

3yrs - Strait - Male - Alone - Mentions: Kona - Tags: Open

Ghost opened his weary eyes as he stared at the top of a wall, he rolled over ad shook himself. He sat up and padded along the side of the wall. He jumped down and continued his search for his littler mate, Kona. He jumped over some shattered glass, ignoring his limp leg. He found a tiny dead mouse, he gulped it up in a second. He didn't even care how nasty it was, he was going to starve if he didn't eat. His stomach growled in hunger, that mouse was tiny. He padded on and lapped some salty puddle water. He shook his pelt and shivered, he was freezing. He stop to rest inside a pile of wood. He slept for 1 hour and then he got up and moved on again. His leg hurt so bad, he was sure it was broken, or something was wrong with it. Just then he picked up a faint scent of other dogs, if he followed it, he could ask the dog if they have seen kona! He ran as fast as he oculd, carrying his limp leg behind him. He saw a dogs, starring at him. His head felt tired and dizzy. He was about to open his mouth but, he fell down, fainting.

The growl was fairly expected, but she backed off a bit. As soon as the September made her introduction, all was well. Felicity smiled and agreed with September's reasoning to investigate the howl. "I agree. C'mon, let's get moving. This water is icy." Felicity was glad she was a strong swimmer - many dogs must have been swept to their deaths by this tsunami. The water was still there - a little less than a foot remained, creating a swamp of a city. The retriever tried walking, but gave up and swam most of the way. As she and her new aquantince approached the approximate location of the howl, she saw a group of dogs. "Hello." Felicity called, returning to walking slowly instead of paddling in the murky water. "A group of us is a good idea - strength in numbers." She nodded, speaking to the group. She saw others speaking to the group about joining - if this was a pack of sorts.

the collie nodded, waiting patiently as felicity finished her meal. her mind began to wander back to the howl as she sat in the shallow murky water. she had a feeling that whatever had produced the noise would welcome the two, but there was still a lingering thought at the back of her mind: what if it was a trap? september frowned, staring at her paws. if there was something waiting for them, she would just have to fight her way out of it like she always did. felicity finally finished, and september got to her paws with a wag of her tail, beckoning for her to follow. the howl had sounded like it had come from the south-east, so she followed her instincts and wove a path through the water and debris, keeping watch for stray nails and other dangers that may be hidden beneath the water's surface.

it wasn't long before voices began echoing off of the building walls, making it sound like they were coming from every direction. but september didn't mind the haunting noises, willing her brain to come to the conclusion that they weren't harmful. she watched as felicity ran up ahead without hesitation, rounding the corner. she opened her jaw slightly, about to bark a stern warning to the younger dog when she heard friendly barks respond to felicity's introduction. september's frown deepened. any predator would have attacked by now, and the welcoming voices that reached her ears helped september believe that there wasn't any danger waiting for them, at least not yet.

the blue merle hesitated before following felicity, her face remaining blank as her eyes skimmed over the group of gathered dogs. although surprise stirred within her, september knew from experience that showing expression to strangers might not be the smartest move. she glanced back from where she had come, a thought sinking in. with all the noise from the multiple conversations coming from the group, she had no doubt that an unwelcome guest might hear all the ruckus. "a group would be an excellent idea," september said, agreeing fully with felicity. "but we might want to keep our voices down, i know for a fact that dogs aren't the only animals in this city," she finished, not bothering to introduce herself. september was normally much more friendly, but hunger still gnawed at her stomach and her paws were growing cold, a thing to be expected when standing in flood water.
