Murdoc's eyes widened when Maxwell began to speak to him - he was surprisingly kind, and seemed like he'd make a good leader. The Doberman relaxed, looking at the ground. "No, no, it's alright, I'll stay.." Murdoc spoke, lowering his head and looking back up from the ground. "I'm just a bit shaken up from the water.." He said, looking back down with a sigh escaping from under his breath then noticing a small gash on his leg, in which he licked until it no longer stung, then lifted his head back up whenever someone began to speak.

Murdoc's back began to itch. As he turned his head to itch his back, he had realized that his short coat had somehow been infested with fleas. It was just another problem to add to the list. Maybe he wasn't too cut out for this whole surviving without humans thing."It's better to stay in a group.. I believe." The nervous Doberman paused."Murdoc's the name." He introduced himself, then sat down, looking up from the ground and made eye contact with Maxwell, awaiting his response, but was soon distracted and turned his head whenever someone else began to speak. Murdoc was rarely around other dogs, so this was an interesting experience for him.

Kona shivered slightly, the cool water finally getting through to her skin, chilling her to the bone. She turned her head slightly to the side to look at her companion, somewhat concerned for her as she coughed "Me too.. I'm so glad though." The red Aussie turned back to look out ahead of her, her eyes scanning the dilapidated buildings and flooded alleyways for anything suspicious, but it was to no avail, they were the only ones around. She stiffened a bit at the German Shepherd's words, her mind flooding with memories she'd hoped to never remember "Ahh, I was a stray.. my owners were.. horrible." Kona couldn't admit it, but she envied her new friend.. she'd give anything to have had a life like the one the German Shepherd did "What about yours? I'm sorry they left you behind.."

Winter trembled with excitement, this was everything she could have ever hoped for, at this point in her life that is. She pulled herself closer to the new dogs, her ears perking up a bit "It's nice to meet you all.. I'm Winter.. and I'd love to stay if you all will have me." The blue merle took a moment to look around her, her eyes scanning each dog that had been drawn by the howling "I can't believe so many of us made it out.. this is all so crazy.."

Chip
Male, 1 year, goldendoodle, @ open
_____________________________

Chip ambled along what was the street. It was now simply rubble and debris, quite sad to look at. His leg was sore and a faint yet sharp pain broke through it occasionally on the uneven terrain. His creamy golden coat was caked with mud and dirt. He hardly noticed though as he picked up his pace once more, ignoring his leg the best he could before having to slow down again. He had heard a howl. A howl, in the midst of all this chaos surely was a good sign, yes? He clambered over a large piece of stone, tail wagging furiously with determination. Finally he managed to get over. Chip's brown eyes examined the surrounding area. He was going the right way, he was positive the howl came from nearby. He tried not to think of his Mother and owners as he looked around, but he couldn't help it. He spotted a larger dog not far from him. A rottweiler. Chip lifted his head, trying to see them better. She was injured. She was walking odd, a sort of limp. Chip decided he should go help her when another dog appeared. He stepped back, lowering himself back down. He seemed friendly, but Chip felt nervous. Chip decided he should go with them-they seemed to be heading toward the source of the howl as well. He stood up straight and picked up his pace into a light trot towards the dogs. Not sure what to say, he stayed back a few feet when he approached them. The goldendoodle cleared his throat. He probably looked and sounded childish, and he was still very young. Only a year old.

Chaos
Male, 5 year, German shep x Husky, @ Dante
_____________________________

Chaos walked briskly through the ruined streets and buildings, alert and on guard. There was a howl, he'd heard it. He set a course for it in his head, and had been walking for a good time now. His body was sore and bruised, and his paws ached but he ignored the pain. The sooner he'd get there, the better.
He let out a sharp growl as he stumbled forward. The slab he was standing on tilted forward with him. He leaped to the side, feeling an agonizing pain shoot up his legs. Perhaps he had more than just bruises and sore paws. He looked up at the overcast sky, his ears laying back. He didn't like this, not one bit. He resisted the urge to curl up and hide, or run away from the city. He had to find the source of the howl-obviously there were other survivors, he doubted he was the only one who survived the quake and wave. He shuddered as he remembered it, hoping he'd never have to go through any of that ever again. Chaos found himself wading into water, and he turned his head up in fear and disgust. He tried to stay in the shallow parts, scrambling, when he could, to stones and man-made debris sticking up. Unfortunately, as Chaos looked ahead, the only way forward was through water. He wouldn't have time to go around it, he needed to go now. He relaxed himself as he swam through, getting to walk here and there.
Another howl erupted through the air, and Chaos turned toward it. It sounded different. He saw another dog not far from him in the water. Chaos exited the water. An extremely large mound of some type of material-metal, stone, and perhaps wood-supported him. He walked over it, so that he was a bit higher than the other dog. Chaos barked to let him know he was there, not sure what he'd say in the first place.

Aster
Female, 4 year, German shep x Irish Wh, @ Maxwell, Ajax, Serai, Winter
_____________________________

Aster growled in frustration at her leg-wishing she never injured it. She felt out of it and agitation scratched her. The terrain made it extremely difficult to get around, and she stumbled and tripped over the debris continuously. She was starving as well. She felt the exact same as when there were humans around and the world was in tact still-nothing had changed on her side. She almost didn't hear the howl-she'd been passed out, halfway submerged in water. Thankfully she did though and for once she looked forward to finding others.
She spotted figures not far from her and hurried forward, limping on her leg. It had a gash down the side, and she wished it didn't get infected. The figures happened to be multiple dogs. She assumed one of them was the one that had howled. Aster accelerated to a slower pace, holding her head low. She couldn't help it-it was throbbing with a light pain. She stopped behind the dogs, not bothering to say hello or anything. The buildings had just fallen, there wasn't anything good to say right now.

Maxwell was pleased with the Dobermanโ€™s introduction. Initially, heโ€™d expected the male to scamper off. He seemed shy, and not very well socialised, but Max respected him for making the choice to stay. He gave a nod of acknowledgement when Murdoc stated his name before facing the excited Aussie, grinning as she spoke. โ€œGood to meet you, Winter. Youโ€™re more than welcome to stick around.โ€ He took a moment to study each dog individually. Some were quieter than others. Probably still shaken by what had happened, or what they had lost. He arched a brow at Serai, who seemed lost in thought, her eyes locked upon the destruction. There was a subtle glint of hope in her eyes. โ€œYou waiting for someone there, Serai?โ€ He asked sadly. It was a long shot that a reunion would take place any time soon, but Maxwell was certain theyโ€™d come eventually. This was a big city. Anyone couldโ€™ve made it out. A little faith was just required. A female limped approachingly behind the crowd, and Maxwell took off hesitantly to greet her, a little cautious of her mood. โ€œYou alright there?โ€ He asked worriedly, his eyes moving to her gashed leg.

โ€Oh, Iโ€™m sorry to hear that.โ€ Quinn trailed off slowly. She hadnโ€™t quite considered this dog never hadnโ€™t a family, and now felt guilt creeping into her system. Quinn had lived a good life compared to many dogs out here. Knowing her words may have sounded insensitive, she gave a brief explanation. โ€œI didn't mean anything by that, sorry Kona. Itโ€™s just, living a certain lifestyle, you sometimes forget what others are going through.โ€ She managed a smile at the female, then felt a pang of sadness in her chest as the question wasnโ€™t brought to her. โ€œOh, itโ€™s no problem.โ€ She played it off causally, avoiding eye contact as best she could. โ€œThey made it, thatโ€™s all that matters. I just hope theyโ€™re safe, wherever they are.โ€ It was difficult not being beside them through this. What if they were hurt? Got sick? All Quinn could do was hope they were safe and well. She was relieved to see the water growing shallower. And even more so when figures came into view ahead. โ€œLooks like we made it. Cโ€™mon!โ€ Quinn was surprised by the crowd that was already gathered. All this time, sheโ€™d expected to come to face to a singular dog. Looks like his howl attracted more than anyone could imagine.

september crept quietly over the asphalt, her claws clicking against the pavement. she had no clue where she was, she only knew that she couldn't stay in one place for long. the city may have been abandoned by the humans, but dangers still lurked in the shadows. her brown globes stared intently at the path ahead, not straying for anything. the hunger inside her had grown worse and was now clawing at her insides like a monster, threatening to break through her skin. scavenging had become harder. she wasn't the only dog in the city, and nine out of ten times she had decided to rummage through garbage, she realized all the food had been taken by other hungry creatures. her eyes had grown dull and her trot had turned into a slow-walk as her energy slowly drained. without food, she didn't have energy, and she knew that if she didn't find something to eat soon she would starve to death. september turned into an alleyway, raising her nose into the air and letting the many scents of the city waft towards her. she walked towards a set of garbage bins, standing up on her hind legs. she wobbled for a moment before resting her paws on one of the bins and knocking it over. the metal crashed against the concrete, and september glanced nervously towards the street, hoping no one had heard.

Cookie was panting heavily now. With both her head and leg she didn't think she would
make it to the source of the howl. What would happen to her if she didn't? Would she be
able to find food? Water? She couldn't possibly think of drinking that floodwater. Even though,
it was beginning to look even more refreshing. She shook her head only to send pain running
through it again. What had happened to her head? She didn't know what had happened to it.
Or her leg for that matter. Maybe, she should give up. At least for today. But if she did that
then the source of the howl might be gone. She didn't even know if she would even remember
the howl if she slept. She was beginning to slow even more when she suddenly stopped completely.
She pricked her ears as she heard a noise. She turned her head and almost yelped in surprise at
what she saw. Another dog. She pricked her ears as the dog spoke. Didn't this dog know that she
could easily hurt him? Didn't this dog know to be careful around other dogs you didn't know? She
then realized that this dog was probably doing the same thing she was. Could this dog really help
her? He looked small. She stared at the dog for a long moment before saying, "Yeah, I'm trying to"
she said glancing away. "I don't think you could help. You're kinda...small."

Ajax relaxed a bit. Okay. These dogs seemed friendly. And they we're looking for more
survivors! Alright then! He glanced around at the other dogs. Most of them looked relieved
they had found others. He was glad too. He wondered what would happen now. First he should
get to know these dogs. That was the first thing he should do. No. First he should decide if he
was going to stay or not. If, he stayed then he would have other dogs to help out when the going
got tough. But then he would have to look out for these dogs aswell. If, they formed a pack that
is. But if he left he wouldn't have to do that. Then again he was sure he wouldn't last long out
the no matter how good of a dog he was. He knew what he should do. He just wondered if that
was a good idea. It's better than leaving... he thought to himself.
He would stay. He was sure. He turned back to the dog who had howled. "Name's Ajax." he
said with a nod. "And I would like to stay." he knew this was the best
thing he could do for himself at this time. And might be the only thing that could keep him
safe for the time being.

Kona gave her a small shrug, at this point in her life she didn't care if she had a family or not, especially now that all of the humans had left and left their animals behind as well "I don't mind..I met a lot of nice individuals along the way." She turned her head to look at the larger female, a smile crossing her face, she greatly appreciated just how kind this dog was, even though they'd only known each other for a couple moments "I understand that, you didn't offend me or anything." The Aussie picked up her pace a bit, the water pooling around her paws getting less the further they walked, this was good news to her, she would finally get out of the cold. Kona nodded at her comment, realizing that what she'd asked may have been a bit rude and out of place, seeing as how this dog truly loved her humans and was probably extremely upset that she couldn't be with them to keep them safe "Ahh I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up.. I'm sure they miss you though." She lifted her head as they approached the many figures ahead, her heart beating rapidly "So many made it out.. that's amazing." The red merle sped up to a trot, her hopeful gaze scanning the area and landing on each dog, then stopping on the one that seemed to be in the middle of the rest, probably the one who howled.

Winter smiled happily as all of the individuals introduced themselves, they seemed like a great bunch of dogs, and would probably be affective at keeping each other safe in this apocalyptic world they were living in. She snapped her head to the side as Maxwell addressed the injured female, her gaze instantly locking on the painful looking wound "Oh wow... that looks bad.." The Aussie somewhat cringed at her statement, hoping they wouldn't mind the extreme obviousness of it, as she didn't know what else to do. She'd never had a cut like this, and when she did get hurt, her humans were there to take her to the vet.. what would happen to this poor dog? how would they be able to patch her up? All of this only made her more upset, the thought of going on without humans was so hard, she'd depended on them her entire life. Winter looked down at her paws, her head lowering a bit as thoughts and memories swirled through her mind, perhaps this group of dogs would be all the protection they need, they would be able to help each other.

Chaos
Male, 5 year, German shep x Husky, Mentions; Dante,; @ open

Chaos looked at the other dog, taking on an alert and protective stance, just in case. He'd have to go back in the water soon, unfortunately. Chaos slid back down the stone slab, stifling a whimper of pain as his paws skidded down into it. He landed awkwardly in the water, but managed to keep his head above the miniature waves + ripples. He attempted to get up but failed the first time, he had landed halfway on something prickly and hard.
He squirmed into an upright position, sitting in the murky water. His paw pads were cracked and he noticed some blood within the minor scratches. He got up, his fur clinging to his sides-at least it wasn't too long, he didn't know how'd he live with that. Chaos trudged through the water, some distance away from the other dog. He shot some glances at the dog, but couldn't quite make out what he looked like. He seemed large, probably bigger than Chaos. Which was likely. He held his head upward, his eyes locked onto the ground meters away from him.

Aster
Female, 4 year, German shep x Irish Wh, @ Maxwell, Ajax, Serai, Winter
_____________________________

Aster lifted her head, wincing at the dull pain. She realized this must've been the dog that howled. She tensed as he turned to her and called her out. But then she looked at the other dogs. They seemed beaten as well. Aster forced herself to relax and turned back to the male who had howled. She was fine, and he seemed friendly. She took a small few steps forward as she spoke. "Could be better," She said with a light shrug. Her tone was dull and unamused though despite her now softer gaze. Why should she bother looking pleased with the condition the city and herself were in, there was no point to it. But she felt her current mood dying out and began to feel hope. Perhaps this was a fresh start to a new life. She already saw a pack forming inside her head, and wondered what the other dog had in mind.
Aster's eyes landed on the female-Winter. She probably had had owners before the destruction. Aster had grown up on the streets, having to deal with her wounds herself. But she was right, it was the worse injury Aster had experienced by far, and that was saying something. She gave Winter a curt nod, but refused to say anything to her, not wanting to sound harsh due to her mood. These dogs didn't know her well and she wanted to come off friendly most of the time, although she probably looked rather belligerent and unapproachable right now.

A strange sensation suddenly raised Danteโ€™s guard. A feeling he was being watched. His jaws lightly ground together, and he took a slow breath before turning around. It was then his eyes met the figure of a light coated male did the dog seem to bark to make himself known, and Dante responded with an inquisitive head tilt. The dog, seeming now to walk away mustโ€™ve also heard the howl, but before Dante lost sight of him, he moved his speed to catch the husky, who now looked to be in pain from what he could tell.

โ€œWhoโ€™re you?โ€ He asked in a voice that held some authority. He wouldnโ€™t hurt this dog. He was smaller, and from what Dante could tell, had wounded himself in his awkward stumble into the water. He sighed, and finally lowered his head to lose his threatening stance. โ€œI wonโ€™t hurt you. But Iโ€™d advise you stay from the water wherever you can. This stuff is infectious.โ€ He turned his nose from the floodwater below in disgust. Sewage, seawater and the muck of the city had all come together as one, likely hazardous to anyone who drunk it. He pulled his head back in disgust, then rounded back towards the husky. โ€œYou heard the howl? I was about to head there myself. You coming?โ€

Serai finally drew her gaze from the destroyed city, exhaling a breath of distain as she drew back to Maxwell to answer his question. โ€œYou could say that. My pack, Iโ€™m hoping at least not all of them were wiped out.โ€ He voice grew heavy, but before she allowed her mood to dawn pity on her, she sucked in a breath and put on a brave face. โ€œAnyway....we got some newcomers arriving?โ€ Her eyes flicked among the group, spotting an Aussie approaching, accompanied by a German Shepherd. But before she could greet them, she first looked to Ajax. His announcement that he was staying brought a smile to her face. The more who stuck around, the better. Then, the wounded dog arrived, and Serai wasted no time in inspecting the wound from a visual perspective.

โ€œLooks like a flesh wound, but I could be wrong. If Iโ€™m correct, youโ€™ll make a full recovery in time but with plenty of rest.โ€ Which wouldnโ€™t be easy in these circumstances. It would be in this dogโ€™s best interest to stick around. That way, Serai would happily keep an eye on her recovery. The female was within her right to neglect Seraiโ€™s advice, but she still put it out there, just in case. Sheโ€™d seen a lot of blood and gore in her time. This was serious, but not much different to what sheโ€™d encountered. โ€œDo you feel any internal damage to the leg? Any aches in the bone or tendons?โ€ Serai was curious as to what caused this. Maybe falling rock, or perhaps sheโ€™d caught it while running. Though she waited for a reply, Serai wasnโ€™t expecting much. She could take a hint if she wasnโ€™t up for talking.

Tiger wasnโ€™t sure exactly how he would help. But one thing was for certain, he wasnโ€™t going to leave this dog wounded all alone. Sure, he was considerably lower in weight than the female, but still a decent size. โ€œAhh, have some faith. Youโ€™ll at least let me try, right?โ€ Tiger wouldnโ€™t ever pass by a moment such as this. An opportunity to help. A chance to show those in need that there was still hope. Movement in the water behind caught Tigerโ€™s attention, and when a small golden dog entered his sights, he smiled widely. The only reaction he really knew. โ€œHey there.โ€ He greeted with an upbeat tone. The newcomer seemed shy, a little hesitant about approaching. With concern taking his eyes, he now turned to the Rottweiler, judging the situation as best he could.

Two options formed in his mind, neither one seeming superior at this point. โ€œTry leaning on me. If I canโ€™t handle it, Iโ€™ll say so, donโ€™t worry.โ€ Tiger was hoping she wouldnโ€™t refuse. The last thing he wanted was to walk away from this unsuccessful. โ€œIf this doesnโ€™t work, Iโ€™ll go get help. Or maybe....maybe...heโ€™s up for it?โ€ his eyes looked to the young dog in front, and it occurred to Tiger he didn't know his name. In fact, he hadnโ€™t introduced himself all. โ€œIโ€™m Tiger by the way. Good to meetโ€™cha both.โ€
