โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโPreacher's ear swiveled back towards Alice and Macy at the soft shuffle of hooves and the stallion stole a look down at the filly who tucked herself to his side all the while peering at Harper inquisitively. He let out a whuff leaning down and brushing his velveteen muzzle against the foal's cheek, his eyes flicking towards Alice. His gaze held a gentle curiosity and gratefulness to them. The mare letting her foal so close was a sign of trust and with that he nuzzled Alice's shoulder softly, he wouldn't simply forget about her while in the presence of another. He had a knack for being able to share is affections and attention, never being one who focused to much on one versus the other. With that being said he turned back to the mare as she approached gingerly- progress. He didn't make any particularly large moves towards her but he replied to her nicker with one of his own, noting the soft smile that graced her features and meeting it with his own. He took the moment to admire her, she was unusually beautiful. A white head with a pinky muzzle and a rose grey pelt that the sun glittered off of. She was smaller than himself, if he were young and reckless covering her would prove difficult but many seasons of life had offered the stallion with a plethora of knowledge, and he would prove to be tactful throughout the entire process, should she have him of course.
Though the distant thoughts slipped his muzzle as she spoke and his ears perked towards her, a sign of his attention but his gaze flicked between Harper and the filly next to him, he was indeed focused on Harper but his attention would forever be split between mares and foals. He was an attentive parent, regardless of genetics. He had stepped on a foal once by accident when he was young and reckless, it was a lesson that he needed to be aware of where he placed his clumsy hooves. Though he smiled at her words and bobbed his head, it didn't garner a reply but he watched her, his nerves just hitching the slightest as her gaze flitted between Alice and Macy. There was a world of unknown variables that could unfold. Alice didn't seem overly dominate and pushy but he knew she would assert herself as a lead, and he would let her. She seemed capable and her age meant she was knowledgeable- he trusted Alice's judgement and knew Preacher was never the type to dwaddle in the affairs of mares. He would let him bicker and argue for a few moments, only daring to step in when things got bloody. He was known by his old mares to chase out mares who caused trouble- he wanted an argument free herd. Just as quickly as the nerves of what could occur between the two mares Harper's attention was back to him and he felt it ebb away, and he flicked his tail softly giving a soft smile at her name. Harper- it was simple yet memorable, it suited her nicely. "No need to apologize Harper, a great deal has changed in the recent week." He commented it gently, testing her name and deciding he quite liked how it felt coming from his mouth. It had a soft yet reliant feel to it. Like the name of someone who you could trust to give you information. "I would be more concerned if you weren't so reserved. Being standoffish right after a roundup- especially towards stallions- is the safest way to be." He let his words come out with a soft chuckle though they held a hollow truth to them that would sit in one's belly like a rock. Some mares come out of a roundup desperate and end up in a cruel stallion's herd. He had seen it many times before and each time it chipped away at him a little bit more, even if the mares weren't his own he felt sad for them and a desire to beckon them away from stallions who lead their herd with an iron grip. Nevertheless he stretched his muzzled towards Harper with a shoft whuff, "It's lovely to meet your Harper." He let his head hang extended towards her, an offer to exchange scents should she accept it.

โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโThe attention that showered down on her coat from Abacuss' gentle grooming had Pandora cooing softly. She was engorged in a world of her own, everything else around them merely a mirage of colors that smeared together into nothingness. Her mind wholly focused on her stallion, her adoration with him was clearly outlined by her loyalty to him. Many times she could have been swept away by the bachelors that sought her out, and many times she had chased them away- teeth bared and angrily bellowing at them. She could feel her skin flinched away at tender parts but she didn't dare move away, curling her head to the side to groom at his pelt too. His words met her ears and the the loss of Winter her gaze faltered softly. The whole herd. Her beloved companions, mares she had grown to love in time, mares she had established herself with. While Pandora hadn't been the lead they also knew not to push her around. She had always been more tranquil and relaxed but she didn't tolerate aggression or mares who refused to share the affections of Abacuss. Winter had been young to lead, but she could be trusted to some length- it was unfortunate that her knowledge had faltered during the roundup. Pandora shifted to press her muzzle against Abacuss' cheek in comfort, "No one knows where the path of the roundup might lead. It was no one's fault, I'm merely glad you made it out safe." Her tone came gently but the striking of a hoof and clacking of teeth to the side snatched her attention.
Pandora pivoted to face the mare in question, perhaps the reunion to her stallion and the loss of her herd and colt fueled her actions but Pandora's ears flattened immediately. This mare was a foreigner. She watched the dappled palomino sidestep with a toss of her head, she merely watched the mare distastefully. The palomino was smaller than herself simply due to their differing breeds and her gaze remained on the mare, her eyes heavy with emotion- she was in no mood to be goaded on by a fool. Abacuss would let the mare know of her status with him, and if the mare continued to trifle with her she wouldn't hesitate to correct her. With that she watched as Abacuss left her side to go to the side of the opposing mare and nose her side gently, she didn't care about the sharing of affections but she could feel irritation grip her pelt at him allowing the behavior. She would be a handful, that much she was sure of and Pandora merely snorted, grounding herself and her emotions. "Meeting new mares so quickly hmm? Already one tagging along too, more herds must have been effected than I recall." Her words came softly and she glanced at Sudu, she seemed willing to tag along with Abacuss and not even wait out for her former stallion. Though Pandora paused before she flicked her tail to and fro, she could smell Sudu's heat in the air but Pandora was farther into hers and she deliberately flagged her tail before she pivoted, "I've met many stallions. Seen more than I could count." Her words came gently but they held a firm point to them. She could have her pick of the stallions roaming around, and she wanted Abacuss to know that, she wouldn't be taken for granted and even if she did remain loyal to him that didn't mean she would come without some form of courtship. With that she advanced towards him, opposite to Sudu and she let her body brush against his, flicking her tail to the side before moving away, she pivoted once more and faced Abacuss, giving just the slightest tilt of her head before her gaze flicked to Sudu. Her actions held purpose, she wanted to insure that the pretty palomino knew that Abacuss was Pandora's first, and Pandora would have his affections as she liked. Yet she also wanted Abacuss to give some level of effort to his actions.

โท S U D U[ mare ] [ nine ] [ stallion: abacuss ] [ heat: 3 ] [ tags: abacuss, pandora ]
Stallions were a bit like birds, the paint mare knew; they flitted between the females, relying on their plumage and their dances to win them over. They tended to believe that a bit of grooming was enough to diffuse a confrontation, and sometimes, they were right. Some mares might find their inner fires quelled by the pleasant touch of a stallion, but Sudu was not quite so tractable. She relished the attention, of course, and she kept a flinty gaze locked on the perlino mare as Abacussโs nose moved against her skin. Lifting her head to graze her teeth against his withers, she ran her nose down his shoulder before giving a delighted squeal -- delighting not only in his attention, naturally, but in the fact that the other mare was there to see it.
Then Pandora was speaking, which was of little concern to Sudu, and she instead slowly pinned her ears as she watched. There was the flagging tail, and the suggestive brush against the stallionโs side; the taunting words, and the heat perfuming the air that she knew was no accident. Keeping herself close to Abacuss, knowing she was being instigated, she made it a point to contribute her own scent as well, whisking her tail over her rump and ensuring the bright hair brushed against the stallionโs stifle in the process. โSo many stallions,โ she agreed, keeping a light tone as if she were thinking the matter over. โI guess you canโt be first to all of them, right?โ A playful smile flicked across her muzzle, though she kept her ears angled back. Quite a few mares backed down when faced with a challenge, Sudu had learned, but sheโd also faced her share of backlash for imprudent remarks. It was clear that Abacuss and Pandora had a history, and she was well aware of the sparks her words might ignite, but she would never know where they stood if their feelings were not out in the open. It was something she had never understood, the polite courtesy of mares deferring to each other, as if manners were more important than desires. She was not one to shy away from what she desired, though, and it was becoming clear that this new mare was the same way.
But, the fact was that she had spotted Abacuss first: not in the sense of having known him before the roundup, but that hardly seemed relevant. There was only the present, and the mare had a possessive streak. It was unsupported, she knew, seeing as how they had only just met, but the fact was unchanged, and she had no issue sharing it with the mare before them, her steely eyes unrelenting.---โ I N G O T[ stallion ] [ five ] [ mares: rosita ] [ tags: rosita, serenity ]
It didnโt take long for Ingot to discover that the mare was right, as they so often were โ there was someone else nearby. Another mare, and his nostrils flared as he came to a brief halt. Ears perked, he blew out a sharp breath as he listened and read the scent on the air. A few quick steps brought him to a spot where his field of vision opened up, and his dark eyes landed on the mare. Before any other thoughts could swarm his head, he turned to be sure Rosita was still with him. And the idea of their foal; the thought gave him an energetic burst and he gave in to a small, playful rear. โRight you are,โ he told her with a smile, before heading towards the newcomer at a trot.
He thought better of it after a moment, eager as he was to claim her attention. She was beautiful, and he tossed his mane with a friendly nicker. Convincing himself to stop at a respectable distance, he held his silence for only a momeny before sending a curious whinny her way, ears fixed forward. Heโd experienced a number of flighty mares, and so he was always prepared to adjust his plans for approach. He found that most often, it was gentleness and kindness that did the trick, and while he considered himself a thoughtful young stallion, he was a stallion nonetheless, for better or for worse. With an eager nicker, he took a few curious steps forward, mindful to try and balance his hormones with at least a little bit of decorum. โSo many of my wishes are being granted today,โ he began, carrying himself in a way he hoped was flattering to his stature. Some mares seemed to appreciate a scarred coat, while others cast an uncertain glance. There was little to be done about it now; his fearlessness was forever advertised. โWould you grant me another, and share your name?โ
---โ H A R P E R[ mare ] [ four ] [ no stallion ] [ heat: 2 ] [ tags: preacher & co. ]
She was startled, frankly, by the scene before her: a massive stallion so tenderly regarding a tiny foal? In her own young life, what she had seen of stallions had mostly been abrasive or curt, both traits that were conspicuously absent from the pair before her. Observing the interaction, her surprise quickly turned to humble respect โ there was still gentleness out in the world. It was a breath of fresh air for her tired spirit, really, and she could feel her wariness coming off in layers. Perhaps he truly was a gentleman, then, and she closed the distance between them to bring her nose to his. Whuffing gently, she let his scent envelop her and etch itself into her senses. He was one she would remember. She tried to separate the thoughts as they came together โ having to remember him if they became separated during a future roundup โ and kept her muzzle against the stallionโs fondly, grateful for his kindness.
It then struck her how quickly she was warming up to the imposing stud, and she lifted her head. Ears fixed on him as he spoke, she knew she should continue to be careful. It had served her well so far to be wary: she was still alive, after all, and free. Freedom didnโt come without burdens all its own, however, and she cocked a hind foot beneath her, still hoping to convey her trust in the small group. Unless they gave her a reason to second-guess her gut, she felt little need to move from where she stood. Dropping a thoughtful glance to the paint filly, she couldnโt help another quiet nicker. She knew how dangerous a protective mare could be, however, so she kept herself back, much as she would have liked to touch her muzzle to the foalโs fuzzy mane. It occurred to her that, for as pleased as she herself was with the situation, it might not be to everyoneโs liking. The thought of being cast out to continue that weary search for company brought a physical sting to her ribs, and she shifted and flicked her tail before flitting her gaze from the mare, to the filly, back to the stallion.
โI donโt want to impose, but perhaps I can be of help to you?โ She trusted that Preacher would take her into his growing band, but she had no desire to stir up trouble with the mare he already had, and she lowered her head a bit as if to emphasize the point. It wasnโt as if he would ever need help protecting them, of course; she simply believed she was more likely to be accepted if she could be useful. โI can keep an eye out for you, and for the filly,โ she offered, and the old pang gripped her heart again, thoughts tumbling toward her own lost foal, and she felt herself taking a step back in the grass. She was confused by the knot of emotions, separate but somehow tied together: her foal, this paint foal, and somewhere a stirring desire for another? It seemed unfair that she could know exactly what she wanted โ security and comfort โ and somehow her body and a shadowy piece of her mind conspired to make everything so much more difficult.

"It's pleasant to meet the both of you." Soleil replied, making sure to offer the other mare a small nod of respect so that they could hopefully start off on the right hoof. Her ears flicked forward at the stallion's suddenly flirtatious attitude as he drew a bit closer. She let him, of course, and she too extended her neck to scent him. As careful as she was to act modest, she couldn't help but enjoy some attention from Galileo. Both he and the other mare seemed friendly enough. A huge relief, too, as the last thing Soleil wanted to deal with was a high-strung, easily offended mare that would nip her for just being there. She subconsciously swished her tail, spreading her scent around the air even more. "My name is Soleil." She eventually replied, noticing that soon after, Nefertiti gave them some respectful distance. Soleil took that as a silent approval and relaxed even more as the conversation carried on.B e s s y

Bessy wandered alone throughout the grassy fields, held hung low, ears pinned against her head. She had a found a herd that she actually clicked with, and now that herd was gone. Now she was all alone, again. She didn't mind the quiet so much, but being alone meant being a target, and she didn't want to put up with that kind of hassle. At the same time, at this moment, it would take quite a bit for a stallion to impress her enough to convince her to join his herd. Maybe as time rolled on she'd become a bit more desperate for company. She let out a loud snort of slight annoyance at the thought and stopped completely in her tracks, taking a break to graze.A q u a m a r i n e

Aquamarine let out a lengthy huff as the other mare asked if her herd was affected by this year's roundup. "You're correct, I'm all alone, unfortunately. It's no fun at all." She replied, ears swiveling. "My name's Aquamarine, and what might yours be?" The grey dappled mare took a brief moment to look around, noting that there weren't any horses around this mare, either. "I'm guessing you don't have a herd, either, then?" As they conversed, Aquamarine fidgeted bit restlessly, which was pretty normal for her, especially during spring.

Galileo loved the ring of her name. And what a coincidence! "Oh my, it seems I, the astronomer, has found the sun. A beautiful ray of sunshine." Galileo made the reference to an old astronomer he had once heard of from his mother. His mother had heard the name and its meaning from a human, near the time of Galileo's birth. When she saw the two small star-shaped splotches over her tail, she knew it was a perfect name. Galileo groomed her gently. "Your name is stunning. So.. What has caused you to wander alone?" The draft asked.

xxxxthe level-headed, practical made was grazing idly in a field, her ears swiveling. her elegant head raised as she paused, nostrils flared, at the scent of two newcomers. a stallion, and another mare. the stallion tossed his mane, letting out a friendly nickerโand she was curious at his scarred coat. she approached the two curiously, stopping after a few steps and returning his friendly nicker. โmy name is serenity. and you are?โ she said warmly, moving towards them a few more steps, swishing her tail. she turned her muzzle in the direction of the mare with him, speaking friendlily. โhello.โ she was wary, of course, as any horse would be when meeting someoneโshe just hoped she seemed inviting rather than trying to drive the two off.
xxxxthe stallion was interesting to the lone mare, as was the companion heโd approached her with. though quiet, serenity was friendly and liked to meet other horses, so thatโs how she hoped she appeared.

the stallion was rather pleased with her words regarding sticking around with him. he was slightly surprised when she reached out and began to groom him, he had not expected that at all. the frame chestnut simply reached around and did the same from his current position, not too eager to go searching for now, knowing that building a bond with kalondra would be more beneficial than going right back on the move. he pulled at the knots in her mane with his teeth, making sure not to hurt her in the process, the last thing he wanted was to get on her bad side due to his grooming skills. he was content for now, that could easily be seen, though his nostrils were still flared due to her inticingly strong scent. he would hopefully take care of that should she let him, he did not want other stallions coming around because of it.

alice was watching the situation, preacher was good at what he did, though it seemed the mare known as harper was warming up to her stallion rather quickly. at first she herself seemed a little confused on the matter, most mares didn't take that quickly and were usually wary. while her gaze was focused on them, she know macy was glued to preacher's side and with her trust in the large stallion, she relaxed her tension just a little towards the mare. she would not keep preacher from expanding his herd as long as the safety of her foal was put into account, along with the temperament of the others mares.
the attention was put in her direction as harper spoke to her, regarding helping with watching macy and being another set of eyes that could help keep her filly out of trouble. that in itself would help alice and allow preacher to hopefully further expand his herd but she knew not if she could trust her, she was pretty peculiar to alice but she had yet to pinpoint as to why. "i suppose that wouldn't hurt." she said in response, knowing better than to be rude. her gaze turned to preacher for a moment before turning back to harper and she moved forward, finally deciding to greet harper properly as she reached out towards her. for now she was fine with harper, unless the mare did something that alice herself thought was a no go. though she would simply let that be known and hope it wouldn't happen again or there would be issues.
macy was rather curious of harper, though a bit more hesitant for some reason, maybe it was because of alice's body language. she stayed with preacher, hearing the mare's quiet nicker and her ears moved forward, gaze turning from one horse to the other before watching her mother greet harper. with that, the filly seemed to grow less hesitant now that her mother was near the mare and she removed herself from pressing against preacher's leg and towards harper, invesitaging the mare by moving around both her and alice.

The young stallion was feeling rather lucky โ already two mares, and both splashed attractively with color. Roving his eyes freely over the new mare, he flicked both ears up as she spoke her name. Stepping closer, he nickered his approval to himself: she was pleasing to the eye, not skittish, and already friendly. Even to the mare he had already found, and he turned to better face the two, watching for any potential sparks. Mares could be difficult to read, and snippy, but everything seemed to be going well so far. Stepping forward and reaching toward Serenity with his nose, he flared his nostrils as her scent flooded them. She was deep in her heat, and he instinctively began to circle towards her backside.
Though, after a moment of thought, he realized it might not be best to test her patience so soon โ he instead contented himself to nibble softly at her back. He would soon find out if she appreciated the attention or not, but he was never one to hesitate. Life was short, after all, and it took him a moment more before his thoughts returned to her words. โOh, yes, Iโm Ingot. I was hoping you might consider joining us?โ---โ H A R P E R[ mare ] [ four ] [ no stallion ] [ heat: 2 ] [ tags: preacher & co. ]
The little mare was well aware of the effect her uncertainty had on other horses; some became tense and withdrawn, and others reacted with straight anger. It was probably frustrating, trying to communicate with someone who was so wary and skeptical, and she dipped her head again to try and diffuse any frustration she might be causing the bay mare. Especially with such a young foal; trusting others was probably near-impossible. The stallion, clearly, was an exception, and that was the only explanation Harper had for her own sudden warm feelings for him. Not everyone was kind and generous โ they were rare traits to encounter, some days.
Gently meeting Aliceโs nose with her own, she breathed softly in greeting. She seemed even-keel and intelligent, which Harper appreciated. A herd was only a successful unit if the mares held even temperaments, and she flicked her ears up appreciatively at the mareโs approval. She was determined to make herself useful, and she began to say so before noticing that the filly was moving closer. Her attention was quickly and easily stolen by the painted foal, and she lowered her head with a nicker. Not surprisingly, she was overcome with a powerful tide of memories of her own lost foal. It had happened so fast that it hadnโt seemed fair; sheโd hardly had a chance to know the wobbly colt. Now, seeing another curious face looking at her, she let that old, primal joy find her heart, reaching her pink nose forward with a playful wiggle of her lip. โSheโs going to have a fearless soul,โ Harper thought aloud, mindful of how she herself felt: a little jaded, but hoping for the best.

mare. stage III. tagged: ingot, rosita
xxxxit must have been a lucky day for the mare, for both the stallionโof whom was quite a looker, though she wouldnโt admit it aloudโand the pretty mare traveling with him were both friendly as she was. she watched as ingotโa rather interesting name for a stallionโcircled towards her backside, slightly anxious, though she accepted the attention from the stallion with a slight twitch of her ears. she mused over his words thoughtfully, softly flaring her nostrils. when she spoke next, her words were spoken with warmth. โi would love to.โ she responded, turning her head slightly to look at him.
xxxxshe figured she might as well, not that she didnโt want to of course. she might not get as good of a chance as this, and with how deeply in heat she was there were bound to be other stallions whom would catch her scent. . .stallions who werenโt as polite as ingot or as accepting of other mares as rositaโateast for now, the other mare wasnโt showing her any hostility, so neither would serenity.

It was unsupported, she knew, seeing as how they had only just met, but the fact was unchanged, and she had no issue sharing it with the mare before them, her steely eyes unrelenting.

It was a wonderful and intoxicating day, to be sure โ the young stallion bobbed his head as the new mare spoke, his eyes traveling over her pretty form again, from her long legs to the tips of her ears. Then she was accepting his offer, and while he had been hoping for just that answer, he was still happily surprised. Perhaps he felt heโd run through his luck already โ he glanced back at Rosita, his body feeling electrified with energy again. He felt as if he could go coursing across the endless plains and through the trees, and whatever lay beyond, and still not feel fatigued. It was a welcome feeling, of course, especially after the dismal days following a roundup, and he nickered eagerly at Serenityโs words.
โI think weโll all be quite happy together,โ he observed, his lips still moving gently against her back. Following the curve of it down towards her tail, he remained alert, though she hadnโt yet made a move to deter him. The scent of her heat was overpowering many other thoughts at the moment, and he knew that if another stallion happened by, nothing good would follow. Ingot was a fiercely protective stud, and despite the fact that he had only recently met both mares, he was not going to risk an intruder breaking them apart. Stepping again towards her rump, brushing his nose affectionately along her flank, he paused for a moment just to listen, alert for any sort of snaps in the grass, and then made sure Rosita hadnโt taken leave of them. Then his grey nose was resting questioningly on the dock of Serenityโs tail, more than willing to take care of her heat but also aware that a shift in mood could send a hoof flying his way.---โ H A R P E R[ mare ] [ four ] [ no stallion ] [ heat: 2 ] [ tags: preacher & co. ]

shiloh stood by the river, a few of her scrapes from the fencing, kicks from horses and a few bite marks had healed mostly, a few that had cut the skin were starting to scab over nicely, but otherwise she was fine. she curled her tongue between her lips slightly to suction up some water before lifting her nose, the tip of her tongue poking out a bit as water dripped from her muzzle before going back for another drink. once content with her thirst, she waded into the water until it splashed over her back and she paddled across the river till she was walking once more, emerging on the other side for the longer grass, it was all dying off but it was still better than the other side. she began to chew at the grass, pulling large mouthfuls and then gazing across her surroundings for stallions, mares or danger.

athena grazed quietly off to the side of her daughter, they'd both been released but had been only two days ago, her daughter had missed the last round up, born nearly three weeks after, but this time, these people had separated herself and cassy from the rest of the horses and had given them both something she heard them call 'sedation' to keep them quiet or whatever, cassy had been completely knocked out and the once swollen infected eye that had been getting worse for about a month before the round up, causing blindness in that eye, had been removed within the first two days of being locked up. the rest of the horses were set loose about a week ago, but due to cassy's eye the people had kept the two of them longer. their plan was to keep athena and set cassy loose, wasn't every day you came across a true black horse, especially in the wild, and some man wanted to break her in, however in attempt to set cassy loose and not herself, it had become almost impossible and the two were finally released. athena was still on edge a bit but at fifteen years, she knew the drill, her first round up was a mere three days after she was born. took her three hours until her dam found her upon release, she had not done every round up, about three she'd managed to slip away, two were while she was foaling, both came out still borns due to the stress hearing all the panicking screams and helicopters, and the other she stowed away with her stallion for she had been a favourite of his so the two separated from the herd, that was about two years ago and he was the sire of cassy, she was separated from him the last round up, she watched as the humans... disposed of him per say, a loud bang and all was over for the ageing stallion who was nearly nineteen years old. never the less, athena watched over cassy whom was grazing just to her side, while she herself grazed, ears twitching listening to her surroundings.

finally, she could start to relax, she still had these funny poky things - dissolvable stitches - where her eye used to be, they were a little itchy, but due to the crator in her face, she could not get to them. while she could not see out of that eye anyway, it felt funny not having it there. it didn't make a difference to her otherwise as for about 8 months her sight out of that eye was deteriorating until she want completely blind in the now missing eye. her dam continuously sniffed it, probably checking for infection that would never come, the people said something about it, about a clean surgery and neatly removed, that the chances of infection were so slim that it would be minor if it did. cassy had been a little traumatised by the whole ordeal, but her dam kept her calm most of the time, the most distressing part was watching foals born dead, mares crying for their young and their stallions, luckily for herself she had kept to her dams side the entire time. cassy picked at the grass around her creamy hooves before pawing lightly and dropping down to roll a bit before stretching out onto her side, lazily nibbling at the grass around her muzzle.

gracie stood rather calmly, over her fresh colt, born but a week ago right after the release of the round up. it had been stressful on the heavily pregnant mare, separated from her stallion yet again for the eleventh time in her life, a new stallion every single year except for two, imps sire had found her quickly after last years round up and the two stayed together until this years round up, sadly, it did not look like the stallion would be finding them again. he was a handsome palomino stallion, and she knew
her colt could have palomino foals when he came of age, the gene strong but not strong enough to turn him palomino, instead he latched onto her red coat his only resemblance to his sire other than his masculine features was his long white stockings which reached his knees and almost identical facial markings, it was uncanny how similar his markings were to his sire. imp was aleady quite curious, haven't not yet experienced the trauma of the roundup, he knew not why his dam was still a bit on edge, and seemingly got cranky with her whenever she called him back when he strayed to far. gracie saw no fear in her colt, and knew already he'd be a handful one that other stallions might not like. but imp would learn to hold his tongue, and would learn if he wanted to stay with his dam for as long as most colts did, he would have to control himself.
gracie smirked at the youngster when she called him to her side, he threw a little tantrum and squealed kicked out his legs and stared at her a moment with the most annoyed look in his eyes, though it was adorable in her own. she smirked at him and beckoned him closer again and watched him groan in irritation before walking towards her, his long lanky legs had finally unfolded properly about two days ago and showed just how long his legs where, she believed he would grow taller than herself, but he might also not, his sire hadn't been very tall, barley 15 hands, perhaps he'd take after his sire more?
