This small neighborhood in northern California was never anything special. At a first glance, it seemed to be just some middle-class families living here, nothing crazy or out of the norm. But for the neighborhood dogs, things suddenly became a lot more sinister. A golden retriever, which the neighborhood knew as 'Comet', was found dead in his own backyard while his owners were away. At first, it seemed like some deranged lunatic was behind this. But after a close inspection, they found bite marks from another dog on his throat. This wasn't a human, but a dog. And not too long after Comet's death, another family's prized saluki, Pearl, has been found dead as well. With dogs being murdered left and right by the same strange dog, the housedogs of the neighborhood took it upon themselves to investigate and figure out who could be behind these murders. And they better hurry, or else they might be the next victim.

indentZeus looked back at his house, his ears laid back. He knew his humans didn't want him to be outside on his own, but he had to. Ol' Buddha called the dogs for a meeting at his home, he couldn't say no to that. He trotted down the street, his ear's on alert as he sniffed the air, making sure he wasn't being followed by anyone in the shadows. He felt safe in the company of other dogs. As far as he knew, there was just one killer. There's no way he could snatch anyone up when several pairs of eyes were on the lookout. He approached the fence, leaping over it to find a few dogs were already there.

indentThe little dog scampered towards the fence, wiggling through a hole that was dug under the fence and popping out from the other side. The little dog was already bounding around and yipping, asking no dog in particular about what was going on and why they were called there. Well, she knew why, but she didn't know why Buddha specifically called for them to go there. The small dog eventually sat down in the grass, her ears laid back anxiously as her body quivered.

indentKahei casually leaned against the fence, huffing to herself as she watched the dogs come in. She didn't want to be here, she wanted to stay inside of her house. Walking here put her at enough risk. She looked at each dog, silently trying to examine which dog was a likely suspect. Sweetie definitely wasn't though it would be amusing if she was. Buddha's teeth were falling out, there was no way he could have a strong enough bite to kill not one but two dogs. She simply sighed as she leaned her head against the fence, trying her best to hide the fear that she felt.

Luka was one of the first to make it to Buddha’s back yard. Escape had come with ease today. With his owner away and his sitter unfamiliar with the area, there was no reason for him to be guarded so closely. He would be a fool to miss out on such an important meeting. He was certain that amongst them stood a killer. The dog responsible had to be one of them. Luka held his head up and looked around with a hardened gaze. “Does anyone here have anything we ought to know?” He asked. Although not everyone had arrived yet, every bit of information was vital. Luka believed offering any piece of related knowledge would bring them a step closer to solving this mystery.

Slowly, Cadi peered around the side of the dumpster she rested behind, her blue eyes searching the streets with an intense gaze. She was more than aware of the killings that were taking place. She believed the first to have just been some freak accident. But the second had been enough to send Cadi into hiding. She’d heard the neighbourhood dogs were getting together soon. Cadi doubted they would expect her to make an appearance, but wether they wanted her there or not, she was going to make an appearance. The stray had no walls or fences to protect her. If she was living on these streets, she would do everything she could to find the dog responsible. Besides, she could just as easily be next. Navigating through the yards, Cadi followed the traces of several dogs who were beginning to gather in one place. As she stood on the opposite side, Cadi took a breath before clearing the barricade with a high jump. Now in the sights of everyone, she looked up at the dogs with expectant eyes. Would they tell her to get lost? Treat her as an inferior? It wouldn’t surprise her. She was just a stray, after all.

Anubis jumped the flimsy wooden fence that surrounded his house with ease, powerful paws clattering down onto the floor below. His torn-up ears pricked as he made his way towards the meeting, scowling at seemingly nobody as he pulled himself over the wall, leaping down onto the grass. He scowled at the small brown chihuahua leaping around, imagining the satisfaction of squishing the annoying creature under his paw. Kneading the ground with his claws, he sat, his small portion of tail twitching.

For all he cared, it was just a normal day. Sure, he was well aware that two dogs were killed in the neighborhood, but he didn't really view it as a big deal. He did, however, want to stay more keen than usual seeing as he could be next, along with any other canine in the perimeters. It took him slightly aback when Buddha, a rather old and fairly well-known dog in the neighborhood would call up a meeting for everyone. Perhaps it was a relatively significant after all, and he certainly wouldn't turn down the offer to head on over and see what the conversation would be like. River was knowledgeable that it'd be based on the murders, but he wasn't too sure on how it'd go; each individual had their own outlook on the situation. Some were likely hysterical, others more calm about it. His intention upon arrival would be to stay quiet and simply listen, and, of course, state his own view on the matter if he felt it'd be necessary.

On his way over to the familiar household, the white-pelted male would make his way down from where his owner's abode was and in the general direction of Buddha's. He was a little more on edge; his senses were more enhanced than usual because he was more aware of his surroundings, and he remained perked up at all times. The last thing he wanted was to fall victim of the killer, as with anyone else. Upon arrival, he would observe the different dogs who had made it there before him, tail swishing observantly before he'd aim to sit down near the rest of the group. He recognized all of them, perhaps even spoken to a few before. Not frequently, though enough to know who they were. Remaining silent, River would twitch his ears, taking a moment to study the variety of canines who were present.
