Rocksteady

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────✎ Rocksteady grunted as he awoke from the boat he slept on rocking around. Once a tourboat, this boat used to be very active with tourists. But now, it's tied down and used as a bed for Rocksteady and some other dogs. He stood up, figuring he might as well work now that he's awake. He trotted up the stone steps and up onto the bride, looking down at the river. He remembered looking down from his apartment of one of his old homes and seeing all the people that would come here. And now it's empty, a ghosttown. He huffed and turned, padding across the street with his head low with sleepiness. He planned on going a little farther than where he usually patrols, hoping to maybe see new places that have more food available. A lot of buildings were empty as humans cleared them out before leaving, but if he was lucky he can find one that has some stuff left behind.

- ✎ Abel sighed calmly as he turned his head to his beta. "Good morning, Dakota." He said before glancing outside the window once. he then turned and laid down on the couch, his fur pooling beneath him as he faced his beta. "Sleep well?" He asked politely with a warm expression. Abel's ears perked as he heard more movement around him. "Ah, the pack is starting to awaken. That means they should be on a hunt soon." He reported. Abel would love to hunt with the pack, but his fur is too thick for the heat and he never was the most skilled hunter. If there's one thing he liked about living outside the country, it was the abundance of prey, and there was even more since the disappearance of humans. Abel would always pick the fresh meat from the country over the trash and leftovers from the city any day.

- ✎ Dusty's head whipped around when she heard Tia approach from behind her. Her feathery tail swayed lightly as she nodded her head in greeting to her. "Hey, Tia." She smiled before turning to look upon the wide flat landscape before them. "I hope so, maybe when the other hunters awake we can go. Y'know, I saw some deer footprints as I was coming out. They must have grazed here while we were asleep. I think we can--" and before she could finish that thought, a scent caught her nose. She wagged her tail and gestured for Tia to follow her. A good distance into the field she saw a pack of javelinas and two babies beside their mothers. "Woah, are those pigs?" she exclaimed. She had seen pigs, big ones, but they looked nothing like these. She confidently stalked towards them, certain that she'd simply scare them away and nab the babies. Her paws made too much noise, and two of the javelinas turned towards her, squealing loudly and began charging at her. "Uhh... tia? I don't think these are pigs...!" She turned to the husky mix and raised her tail between her legs in fear.

- ✎ When she heard pawsteps growing close, she placed a paw on her kill to secure it. Her lips curled as she turned her head, only to find that it was Chazz. She eased her hackles before letting out a sigh. "Oh, hey Chazz." She responded. "Oh i'm fine, the pups are active this morning." She glanced at her large belly, feeling the pups slight movement made her smile. She remembered hating the pups the first couple of days into her pregnancy, mostly due to their father leaving her to take care of multiple mouths by herself when food is already scarce, but now she loves them more than anything and would wrestle a giant bear if it meant keeping them safe. They gave her a purpose in a world that seemed to have none. She then turned her head around and plucked the white feathers off the duck. "You can have the rest when I'm done, if you'd like." She said as she spat out a feather. She intended to eat a little extra, but she figured she might as well give the rest to him if she wouldn't finish it. Kahei of all dogs know how much the dogs would give for a taste of fresh meat.
