it's a beautiful world we live in, some could say. but there are bad
things too. however, if you think positively and try to actually enjoy what surrounds
you, it might not all be as bad as you think.

now, there is a herd who lives along side the spectacular rocky mountains in canada.
this herd is appropriately named the 'mountain herd'. all the horses who live within
mountain herd work to protect every horse in their herd too.

this herd was founded back in 2014, so this herd has been together for about 4 years.
the mighty and strong stallion who founded the herd went by the name akela. some
would say he was the strongest and bravest horse around. but some don't say that.
now a days, many of the horses thrive in the herd. and most importantly,
they have freedom.

Neve quietly slept under a large pine tree, The pine needles grazed at her back. Then, the sun rose above the horizon, the suns rays trickling onto the green grass. And then on to Neve. She blinked and opened her mocha brown eyes. She finally then got up to her legs and gave a shake of her white coat. Then she smiled. She got a good nights rest. Neve then trotted over to the nearest patch of fresh grass and began grazing contently.

The Palomino filly frolicked near the tall grasses by her herds current arrival place. Moving frequently was tedious but she loved seeing new places. Nickering to herself, Opal trotted after a stray butterfly that was fluttering near the flowers and bushes, but eventually she grew bored and made her way back near her herd. Sometimes being the only foal really was a downer.

The morning sun bore a hole into Gatsby's flank, stirring him from his slumber. Dreading the thought of another day trying to survive alone caused him great worry. His days were numbered and he desperately needed a herd soon, or at least find some gracious stallion to let him join. Gatsby stood and shook out the dirt, his curved ears swiveling to capture any sounds near by before he went about his day.

✎ Haida shook her long mane as she slowly began to shake the tiredness out of her eyes. Her ears flickered as she looked up at the sky, her tail swishing lightly as she felt the gentle heat from the sun against her black and white pelt. Another day, another day. She stretched her legs for a bit before casually walking towards Neve. "Morning, Neve." she said in a friendly manner, her ears relaxed.

✎ The young stallion sighed as his tired legs carried himself across the ground. He has had trouble sleeping recently. Without the security of a herd, he felt nervous about falling asleep. He looked around at the world that never seemed to end for him. He frowned as he hung his head low, losing faith in creating a herd.

✎ The stallion had awoken long before the rest of his herd. He never did have an easy time falling asleep, so he figured he could make himself useful and look out for any threats. His long black tail swished as he held his head high with confidence.

Opal heaved a long sigh and trotted in circles, creating tiny dust tornadoes. She stopped for a moment and beamed as she noticed Rocksteady near by looking quite focused...should she even bother? Well, a greeting would be fine. The filly nickered at the Stallion, her tiny tail wiggling in happiness at seeing her herd mate. "Good mawning" she greeted, her vocabulary slurred as she was trying to learn how to form larger words. Opal cocked her head to the side in curiosity, and turned to look out wherever Rocksteady was searching "What are you doing?" she asked quite proud that her R's didn't turn into W's that time.

Hours trickled by and Gatsby had moved towards a patch of greens, making a mental note to make this his spot for the night. He leaned down to begin grazing, his mind swirling in worry and doubt for his life. He needed a mare atleast, a mare could grant him a companion, and eventually a herd. The Marwari snorted as he ate, he didn't have the heart snake mares from other herds, much less have the guts to speak to one
