akira opened her bright blue eyes, looking down at her little nanuuk she smiled and nosed his ear gently. lifting herself to her paws, akira stretched and yawned. her fur shimmered as the sunlight beat down on her, the husky nipped her son softly in attempts to wake the puppy up. after telling the puppy to behave himself, akira left the puppy in the safety of their den. the female felt her stomach grumble as a breeze blew through her soft fur.

the puppy's eyes opened suddenly when he felt his mom's wet nose on his fluffy ear. with a groan he flopped back down for a second until akira nipped him, sitting in the den next to his mother the baby husky slouched sleepily, his blue eyes squinted. whenever she left, nanuuk plopped right back onto the den floor and fell asleep.

✎ As my hunting partner for the afternoon paced out of camp, so did I. I agreed, it did get too hot, and that wasn't good for an activity like hunting were you needed all of your energy. Already I was on high alert, keeping an eye and an ear out for any scents, noises, and small movements. I was ready to take off at a moments notice.

His ears perked up when he saw Akira exit her den, his eyes instantly snapping to the den behind her as if waiting for Nanuuk to appear behind her. Dante had always been protective over the two dogs after meeting. His blue gaze snapped over to the dwindling prey pile, and after a moments hesitation, Dante darted over and picked up a well-fed pidgin. With a slightly wagging tail, e padded over to Akira and dropped he bird at her paws, and nudged it towards her.

A soft rumble left the pale female, slowly taking a step forward Teja grinned as the breeze shifted slightly. The nature of the grin was a darker one, and she dug her dull claws into the ground. Taking in a deep breath, as she chuckled," Well, it seems like someone's lost it's mother." The scent of a fawn wafted into her nose, both the scent and fawn seemed to be older. The scent at most an hour old, and well the fawn, was probably in the process of losing it's spots. Jerking her head, she motioned for Kasi to follow her. This will be an easy hunt, while it'll be fast, it doesn't have the experience or smarts to be able to get out a trap.

The closer he got the stronger the smell got and the more excitable he became until he was moving at a slow run. A few moments later and the first glimpse of a brown pelt came into view. Instantly the male switched from passive to aggressive and growled loudly as he charged forward. Though not the fastest by any means seeing the dark, ebony pelt of the massive brute charging towards you with his canines bared was a sight mean enough to freeze weaker willed dogs. He edged closer and closer and was sure this dog had seen him by now as he yelled, "Hold it right there!" Quietly, Abner hoped this dog would either stay still or run further from the pack's territory. He was big as well but most dogs were faster than the beta and he'd feel horrible if he lost this wanderer in pack territory.

She stood, overlooking the lake that sourced most water for the pack's territory. You could see everything from here, and Lunar adored it-it was her favourite place. The sunrise reflected gently in the cool ripples of the water. Just below, her reflection peered back at her from the water. Lunar sighed. This dog, no, this wolf staring back at her was not the 'dog' she'd known six months ago. This 'dog' was stronger, more confident, experienced and free. But a physical change she couldn't ignore (even if everyone else did) was her belly. She had a...well, mixed feelings about what she thought was happening. Lunar hadn't spent the night in camp for this very reason. She needed some space just to think.
Anyway, Lunar wondered if the pack was up yet. She stood there a while longer, breathing in the fresh morning scents, before padding back into the forest towards home.
Suddenly she caught wind of a familiar scent. Abner on patrol. She decided she'd help her friend this time, since he's always patrolling alone.
Catching a quick (unaware) rabbit as breakfast on the way, she followed her beta's scent. As she got closer, the smell becoming stronger, she grasped another scent. Uh oh. Some wanderer has wondered too close for comfort. And, sure enough, just up ahead, she could see the scene unfold. Abner went after the rogue, but wasn't anywhere near quick enough. So (because of her natural drive for stuff like that, and her stupidly loyal trait) she gave chase.
"Hi Abner!" she barked as she raced past him, dipping her head in respect as she ran.

✎ As Teja signaled me, I picked up the same scent that she was honed in on. An older fawn, regardless of the gender this would make it an easier catch than a full grown doe. My steps were much more carefully placed, softer, now. I could outrun almost any animal in this forest, and an inexperienced fawn would be no faster. "Alright, we're getting close. Remember the plan; I'll round it away from its herd or parents and toward you, then you'll ambush and I'll join in taking it down." I instructed in a hushed voice.

✎ Just as soon as I had thought I was safe, a deep voice bellowed from behind me. He had told me to "hold it right there". Shoot, what am I supposed to do now? I thought to myself. My thoughts bounced around, trying to think of a plan. Slowly, calmly, I turned around the face the dog. Suddenly, another showed up; not as big, but still a worthy opponent if it came down to it. "Don't mean to intrude, big guy. I was just leaving, actually." I said, trying to explain myself.
