
• Peculiar Paws •
In rural California, a devastating earthquake caused millions in destruction. Old buildings crumbled, roads were inaccessible, lives were lost, and many survivors were forced to move from the homes they'd known their entire life. Numerous were left behind to scavenge what remains of the destruction. Of this, an animal rescue out in the country called Peculiar Paws. The owners and staff fled, turning the animals loose to give them the best shot they were willing to give. The shelter harbored mainly dogs and cats, but they also occasionally took in horses, goats, chickens, birds, and other domesticated animals. Left alone, they bore the worst of the earthquake, their shelter crumbling and the majority of their food covered. It's been weeks, and it doesn't look like the staff is coming back. Their best option may be to recoup and relocate, but some are stubbornly wish to remain in hopes that the humans will return for them.
