m'baku tilted his head slightly at the other canine's use of a language with which he was unfamiliar. her tone told him that the single word, although foreign to him, was spoken with friendly intent though, and that was more than enough to satisfy the naturally congenial dogo argentino. he grinned easily in the jindo's direction as she looped around to keep pace with him and wagged his tail to further indicate his happiness with his current circumstances. m'baku liked to socialize, despite the fact that he tended to be a little bit more reserved about it, and it had been a while since he had made a new friend. "pleasure to meet you, yoon-ji," he said amiably. he silently admired the quiet intelligence that the female showed in keeping her distance from him while still staying close enough to speak. eve was not the type to get irritated if m'baku greeted or was greeted by a stray, but yoon-ji was taking no risks in that department; a caution that m'baku wholeheartedly respected. "have you been a local in this area for long?" he asked, still curious as to how he hadn't met her previously.

Mac Tire shook out his pelt and yawned as he listened to the Dalmation. When she mentioned the children, he couldn't help but glance round at the human pups/children. "I guess I should expect that soon. The master and his mate are expecting." He informed her. At the mention of his beloved mate, Mac looked down for a few seconds and then smiled. "Queenie? I've seen her around a few times but not spoken to her since I left." He commented with slight hesitation. He knew his sister was happy for him but also knew that she would possibly be getting some slack from a few of his old pals on the streets. "She can take care of herself." He muttered to reassure himself.

"And I forgot how much you love yourself." The female mudi cross replied quickly. As she was about to replied to his comment about the food and freedom, the little female that was still under Val's paws spoke which caught the male's attention. Watching how he treated her, Queenie frowned and growled slightly with a slight snap towards Valtari. "If you can't see the freedom that's right in front of your big muzzle than you're even more stupid than I thought. As for the food, yes she's right, there's human food stands dotted everywhere in the city but I guess if you have to get others to do the work for you than you clearly don't have the wit or smarts that I had initially thought." She retorted knowing than insulting his intelligence would get his full attention and perhaps she could get him of off the small female.

Lara let out a small whiff of relief at the snapping dog's remark. It felt good that Queenie had stood up for the little dachshund mix. Lara could feel that Queenie was attempting to get Valtari's attention off of her. The tiny canine shook her head in acknowledgement and posed a quick grin to Queenie's direction. Lara wished she could have let a word out, and say thank you but It wouldn't come out when she glanced back up at Val. Perhaps there would be some time to credit Queenie of her works at some point. The cleverness and bravery held in the Labrador mix was amazing, and perhaps Lara could be like that some day.

valtari's right eyebrow shot up to join his left as lara spoke up again—this time to agree with him, much to his earnest surprise. he had expected her to put up some kind of a fight, be it against his use of his demeaning, ill-intentioned nickname for her or against his controversial, all or nothing philosophy about effort and survival. but it seemed as though their conversation had drained all of the fight from her. his attention was quickly diverted from the little female again however, when queenie bit out her response to his earlier taunting. his grin hardened at her words, morphing quickly into much more of a sneer than a good-natured smile. "you don't think that i'm smart?" he asked, feigning offense at her fluid battery of insults. "if you see more intelligence in the act of physical exertion than you do in the act of a little verbal artistry, then you're not as intelligent as i believed you to be either," he reasoned, his voice a finely edged drawl that, to a careful listener and much to his chagrin, distinctly belied his sensitivity to the pressure she was putting on the massive sore spot that was his over-inflated ego.

anda couldn't help but flash a wide and genuine smile at mac's mention of his masters' happy news. she had always loved children, even before she had any of her own to protect, entertain, and love. she couldn't wait to meet the new addition to her good friend's growing family. "that's wonderful, mac!" she said, her habitually soft voice colored vibrant with excitement. "you will be such good guide for the little one as it grows up and learns about the world," she added cheerfully. when the conversation moved back to queenie however, the female's expression sobered up again as she considered mac's response to her earlier inquiry. "you're absolutely right about her, mac. from what you've told me, she is very well equipped to thrive on her own. i'm sorry that you haven't had an opportunity to spend more time with her though," she said, her brown eyes tinged with sympathy as they slid over to her companion's somewhat hesitant dappled grey and black face "you must miss her."
