Kestrel shook her pelt out and then sat down, looking to Oni again with a soft smile. "I find it frustrating." she told him. "I wish we could leave this cave," she murmured to him gently, knowing he was on the rebel side with her, and hopefully he understood what she wanted.

Oni modded. “It’s weird because being a hunter, I’m suppose to be out for most of the day even though I’m not. But I always wanted to stay inside and you want to go outside. It would be interesting if we could switch places for a day.” He chuckled

"What happened," she asked worriedly as she dashed to Starry's side. She had heard the wretched yowls that the Queen had let out her eyes filled with panic as she glanced at Starry.

The hunter lay on a thin branch, sometimes seeing if any other cats are around to catch her.
She was peacefully relaxing, as this was the only time away from the demanding Rufus and nagging guards.
Her prey lay scattered in the dirt, for her to pick up later. For now, it was just time to relax- she had probably caught enough prey for the 'King' to selfishly eat.
Oh, how she hated him. She couldn't wait to defeat him!

Kestrel wrinkled her nose for a moment. "You would get sick of it after a while." She told him. "You would want to be able to lay in the sun, or go out to hunt." She flicked her tail as she glanced to Honey then back to Oni. "Maybe that will change someday. " she murmured quietly to him.

‣there is was, a nice rabbit grazing in the grass. it hasn't even noticed her. vandi stalked low to the ground, her tail held out for balance. the rabbit was almost as big as her, but size meant nothing here; it was skill that mattered. the rabbit was fixing to move soon, vandi had to act. she wiggled her rear and pounced, the rabbit squeaking in alarm and turning to take off. vandi pounced on the rabbit, her claws digging into his sides. the rabbit squirmed in an effort to escape from her. the rabbit swiped his paw at vandi's cheek, scratching her face and causing vandi to yowl in pain. vandi bit down on the rabbits throat and held it until the rabbit slowly stopped moving. vandi panted as she climbed off the rabbit, staring at her work. she licked her paw and wiped her cheek, some blood coming off but it wasn't enough for vandi to be concerned.

‣it was exactly one year since govan's brother, cobalt, passed away. govan counted every day since. govan had been collecting stones all morning and aligning them around a tree to create a memorial to his fallen brother. when he was stone, a circle of stones surrounded a tree with the largest stone in the center. govan sighed and he hung his head, sitting in silence.

“Maybe so,” He said, flashing a grin. He nuzzled her check affectionately, hoping she liked him as much as he liked her. He noticed the sun had started to set. “Hey! Why don’t we go out there and get those marigolds?” He asked excitedly.

“The queen got attacked by a fox. This prisoner has the medicine but can’t remember how to use it. Do you have any idea how it works?” She asked dusk.

Kestrel smiled at him gently, nuzzling his cheek back. She then glanced to Honey, "are you okay with holding down the fort?" She asked her, to make sure. Giving a nod to when Oni said the sun was setting and they could sneak out and get those herbs.

“Of course! You guys go out there and have some fun!” She said with a smile. She watched them leave nd thought about her own love life. After thinking long and hard about it, she really wished there was someone for her as she realized how lonely she really was.

“Thanks Honey!” Oni said. Then he took Kestrel outside. He admired the way her fur looked in the setting sun. He was glad the queen got injured, not only because he didn’t like the monarchy but also because it was distracting. He was pretty sure no one saw them leave because they were all focused on the queens yowling. The more and more they walked and made small talk, the more he realized just how much he loved her. He got ahead of himself, filling his head with ideas of their future. He imagined them having kittens and teaching them how to hunt. He imagined the family going fishing. He imagined everything in his wildest dreams because he was sure Kestrel was the one. He shook his head out of his fantasy and looked back at her, glad that she was his reality. He flustered a little thinking about telling her everything he was thinking, so instead he asked her, “So what is it that marigolds look like again?”
