ῳɛƖƈơɱɛ, to Salvo's Aptissimum. Do you have what it takes to survive?

For centuries upon centuries, there has been a clear line, dividing the untamed wilderness from the domesticated lands of the humans. Everyone lived in peace - the wolves lived in the forest and the mountains that lay far away from where the humans dwelled, and no wolf, whether in a pack or alone, dared wander anywhere near them. Among the humans lived their dogs, who were dependent on their owners for survival. The dogs helped their owners in many different ways - hunting, herding, protection, companionship - and in return they were given a safe place to live, with everything they would ever need. Of course this all had to change one day. The dogs watched in shock as the humans that they had once trusted, fled from their home - leaving them behind, to fend for themselves. The dogs, wishing to survive and defy the odds that were stacked against them, formed a pack, and set off to find their place in the wilderness. They settled down in a forest, near the mountains, and started organizing their pack the best that they could. For a while they have lived in peace, but what they have not realized is that their territory borders on the wolves - of whom the dogs have only heard stories of - and one chance encounter on the border could change everything. In the wolves pack it is survival of the fittest, the way it has always been. Those who are weak either grow stronger or die, as is the natural order of things. The alpha is strong and brutal, and as such they expect the dogs to either stay away or else, as the wolves will not hesitate to destroy them if they even look at their territory or pack wrong. In the end, will there be peace between the two packs, or will war devastate them all?

The wolves of Crescent Moon Pack have remained in their territory for as long as they can remember, and they have no plans on leaving anytime soon. They make their camp in a clearing with large, angled rocks that provide shelter, in the northern part of their territory, the mountains. The south east is the plains, a choice hunting spot. To the south west is the forest and lake where the border with the dogs pack lies, and there is a small stream near their camp. They have adapted to surviving in the brutal environment, and their view is survival of the fittest. They are skilled hunters and fighters, and are not afraid of much. Their main predator is either bears or other wolves. The pack has a strict hierarchy, with the top being the alpha pair, who are almost always mates. Next is the beta pair, usually they are mates as well, but it is not required. At the bottom of the hierarchy is the omega, who eats last and is the most submissive wolf in the pack, typically other wolves take their anger out on them. The rest of the pack consists of the nursing mothers and pups, trainee's who are between 6 months to a year and a half old, and the pack members who both hunt and fight as needed.

* | The alpha's will carefully select mates in the packs, in hopes of passing down good genetics. They can either request another mate, or, if things go well, they should have a litter of pups, and then they may decide if they wish to keep their mate or become free to select another. Wolves will receive their mate when they become a full member of the pack. | >

The dogs of Lunar Eclipse Pack have settled down in the forest, making their camp in a cave on a rocky slope. The north western part of their territory consists of mostly forest, with a lake to the northeast, where they border the wolves territory, and a river runs through their territory. To the east is the plains. They have formed a hierarchy like the wolves, but it is less strict and they are unlikely to kill others unless absolutely necessary. The nursing mothers, pups, and elders eat first, and then the rest of the pack. The dogs shared their skills that they learned from their time with the humans with each other, hunting, fighting and everything else. Survival is a struggle, but they are determined to live.

• Characters •

Post all forms on the discussion thread. You may have as many characters as you can handle, but please do try and make an effort to keep genders even. Only realistic names and pictures are accepted, and keep in mind that adult wolves may not have blue eyes. Do not create a mary/gary sue, all characters have flaws and this makes the roleplay much more interesting. Pups (under the age of six months, which is when they become trainees), will not be accepted into this roleplay at first, however you may start with a pregnant female. Reservations will last for a maximum of forty-eight hours, unless specified beforehand.

• Literacy & Activity •

While writers block, etc, is understandable, I do expect that everyone writes a minimum of 3 sentences, to give the other player something to respond to. I ask that you only create a high ranking character (alpha/beta) if you can be decently active. If a player is inactive for over two weeks, a pm will be sent. If the do not respond to said message within a period of 3 days, said characters will be removed from the roleplay.

• Realism •

Do not power play or kill off a character without clear permission from their player first. Please remember that not all blows in a fight should hit. You may not play as your own mate or crush. Drama is encouraged, but don’t do anything major without my knowledge. For the sake of keeping the roleplay realistic, I ask that there be no lgbtq+ characters.

• CS & Misc. Rules •

Please use common sense. All CS rules apply, after all why wouldn’t they? Mini modding is not allowed. I expect all signatures to be disabled on the roleplay thread, with no exceptions, and as such any and all OOC chat is expected to be in the discussion thread.

The Lunar Eclipse Pack has settled down into their territory, where they are very close to the Crescent Moon Pack. A chance meeting will soon occur between the two packs.

It is currently January, and it is still winter. Snow covers everything, and the lake is frozen over. The sun is shining, with little to no clouds to be seen on the horizon, and a crisp breeze sweeps through the wilderness. The snow is melting in spots, and cracks can be seen in the lake, as spring will start in February.

The wilderness is teeming with life - majority of the times that is, as prey becomes scarce in the winter - although many would advise one to proceed with caution, otherwise they may end up as a meal for a grizzly bear.

* | Several species of Deer can be found in both packs territories. They stick to the plains and open areas most of the time, though it is not uncommon to find them in the forest. | >
* | Elk - either in a herd or alone - can be found in either packs territories. Mountains, forest, plains, and the forests edge are all suitable habitats for them. | >
