───────────────────────────────────
xxex was just thinking of how much he wanted to see a mare, and there she was. a beautiful bay arabian, she seemed pretty friendly too. he turned to face her, she was doing a lot for the haflinger. he was so mesmerized he didn't answer her question, but it was too late. "don't hurt yourself now," he croaked, his voice was so dry it wasn't working properly. he came close to the female, his head high and his tail arched as he approached her. he came close as he sniffed her over, his head raising as he lifted up from her stench. she was far into season, he would have to be a little harsh to progress this relationship. he neighed, stomping the ground, "you're very lovely," he kept spitting out compliments as he confronted her. he circled around the roundpen one last time, remembering all the worse times of his life. he kept his tail arched and his head high, they might have to continue this later. he was almost dying of thirst and he could use a little grazing. "how 'bout i eat and drink some water, im literally dying over here, come with me" he croaked sarcastically as he cantered over to a pond not so far. he drank for a while, the pond looking as it was soaked up with a sponge. he turned to see if she was there, hoping she had come along. (i'm going to wait before posting this because it would be better if night responded)

─( stallion ─ "romeo" ─ 6 y/o ─ andalusian x tb ─ coverings - none ─ tags - aria)─
───────────────────────────────────
xx romeo thought the mare was elegant, he was always sort of mesmerized by arabians, they had a beauty about them that he couldn't quite understand. "i'm glad to have found you when i did, who knows how long you can last with your foot caught in a stall door," he added to his list of compliments before rejoining her side. he kept up with her if he strayed, and he would slow down if she was going slower. he thought she was a good catch and he wouldn't have asked for a better horse to meet. after walking for a while he picked up the speed, chasing what sounded and smelt like water. he neighed for aria to keep up, he almost made it to the water-he could almost taste it.

ℝ𝕆𝕊𝕀𝔼'𝕊 𝔻ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕄
─( mare ─ "rosie" ─ 10 y/o ─ paint horse ─ heat - 3 ─ tags - zeus )─
───────────────────────────────────
xxrosie had been in the stall for the past hour or so, almost feeling light headed from no air conditioning. she grunted before sniffing the door. maybe lara will be back soon, maybe.. she had so much hope, but she had to leave no matter what. she gathered as much strength as she could and kicked the door until it busted open. she was proud of herself for a minute, another wishing she didn't have to leave. she knew this was the right choice though, the humans were gone and she had to face reality. she left the barn, seeing that the rest of the horses had already left. she trotted down the steep slope that the barn was built on, stopping when she reached the low valley with the paddocks. she decided she would stay and graze for a bit.
after a few hours of grazing she needed to get on the move, her home was all in the past now. she let out a whinny as she came along a few scents of old horse stench that had passed by. she whinnied again, just slightly a bit louder, but she would need to save her energy for the running she needed to do. she started to gallop, her head lifting as she took in the fresh breeze that swept by, leaving her mane flying in the wind. she stopped as she came across an unfamiliar barn, a new sight. she whinnied slightly, but was cut off by the banging on the doors in the barn. she was tempted to help the horses, but she didn't know if they would respond with generosity or aggression. she took the risk and headed inside, the nervousness in the room suffocated her. there were only a few horses still left, but she still was nervous. the first stall had a horse present. "hello?" rosie said before waiting for its response. "are you stuck..?" she stated as she backed up a little, she didn't want to seem too pushy.

─( mare ─ "rudi" ─ 3.5y/o ─ thoroughbred ─ heat - 1 ─ tags - open )─
───────────────────────────────────
xxrudi's large body was covered in dirt, she was left in a paddock; this would be no struggle to escape but she decided she would stay here until the water goes dry. she snorted, grabbing long strips of grass in her mouth, chewing it up instantly. she felt a hot gust of wind hit her side, which didn't feel so pleasant. she ignored it, continuing to chomp. she was chewing the grass until three colts jumped into her pen, biting at her and attacking her. she kicked one colt away, but she was out of breath, she couldn't put up the fight for the paddock any longer. she jumped the fence, running off into the hills, she didnt know where she was headed, but did anyone need a reason?

𝕍𝔸𝕃𝕃𝔼𝕐 𝕎ℍ𝕀𝕊ℙ𝔼ℝ
─( mare ─ "val" ─ 8y/o ─ lipizzaner x oldenburg ─ heat - 2 ─ tags - black magic & solar )─
───────────────────────────────────
xxval thought these horses were definitely not wimps, and could handle themselves well. "sorry.. maybe some other time is better, how about a raincheck?" she said with a sarcastic and light tone, but she knew these horses were probably not in the best mood right now. "obviously you are no weakling, you stood your ground well, i admire that." that was probably the first and last nice thing she's ever said to a stranger. she bent her head down slightly before sniffing over her leg that got stuck. "are you okay? i mean, your leg." she said as she raised her head back up to look her in the eye. she then looked over at the stallion, she just had to throw in another sarcastic remark, "i mean, are you okay, you just watched two mares fight for your love, you must be head over heels!" she snorted, her own jokes cracking her up. "sorry if i come off rude sometimes, just don't take it personal. it just happens, i guess its kind of like a temper."

𝕃𝕀𝕋𝕋𝕃𝔼 𝔹𝕀𝕋 𝕆𝔽 𝕊ℙ𝕀ℂ𝔼
─( mare ─ "spice" ─ 14 y/o ─ oldenburg ─ heat - 2 ─ tags - alphonse )─
───────────────────────────────────
xxspice didn't know what to do, but she felt bad for the stallion, atleast give the guy a chance, this might be the only horse out here. she turned her much smaller body around, facing the stallion, she stood there exchanging her scent with the stallion. she finally decided to talk, "so... i didn't mean to come across rude.." she said, taking a deep breath as she continued. "you just startled me a bit, i wasn't expecting to see a horse here; not alone at least.." her words faded as she thought. why was this horse on his own, this place he is at seems abandoned like hers was, were his owners missing too? it took a few minutes of her thinking, but she came up with a simple question. "are your owners gone... like not here? b-because mine are too- and i think that they're all g-gone." she was frightened at the thought of her owners, but what if this was a sign, maybe they were leaving next. panic shriveled through her body, she almost seem paralyzed because of these intense thoughts. "m-m-y name is spice."

________________________________________

indent Ari huffed softly, looking down at the small colt beside her. There was no way he’d be able to jump the paddock fence with such weak, gangly legs. She was running out of food, and therefore milk. Instinct told her to protect her son, yet it also tugged at her to survive. She whickered softly to her handsome tovero son, and decided she simply couldn’t leave him behind. The mare anxiously trotted in the dusty paddock. The other horses had already fled, and they needed to find a way to do so too. She lipped at the hatch on the gate, knowing the humans always lifted it. She nudged it up with her nose, and lipped at it a few times, with no success.
After what felt like hours, Ari opened the latch and nickered to her son, causing him to catapult forward towards her. She tussled his mane, and trotted our, reliever to be out of that prison. She was lucky to have gotten out with her son as well, and now they’d need to find a source of water. The paint mare nickered to him, and started moving quickly in the direction of a trail the humans would always take her on, knowing it had many brooks and streams to drink from, as well as fresh greenery.
The mare and her colt drank in great amounts once they reached a suitable source of water, and while Exodus nursed as if he hadn’t eaten in months, Ari grazed peacefully by the riverbed, knowing nothing would harm her here. The predators were all wiped out from hunting in this area, although they’d soon return if the humans did the show up again. It was a shame really, Ari had rather liked her humans. After all, they gave her food and shelter. The tobiano mare sighed nostalgically and glanced back in the direction she came. There would be no humans anytime soon, and when knew it. Going back wasn’t worth the trouble. Ari swished her tail, as her heat had become somewhat annoying. She then realized perhaps it’d be a good idea to find some other horses. After all, they’d offer protection, and wouldn’t hopefully hel her get rid of her annoying heat. Ari nudged her son away from her teats, and trotted through the forest, the watery spring sunlight filtering in through the trees oh-so-high leaves.

i. Inca ii. mare iii. 11 iv. Injuries/conditions: none v. heat stage/foals: Heat 1 vi. tags: open
________________________________________

indent The dark mare solemnly lifted her head as winds battered against the walls of her small stable. The roof freaked and groaned, tired of holding itself up. Although Inca was used to neglect by now, the humans had been gone far too long. Her fur was in mats and her mane- her mane was terrible. Not to mention her ribs and hips had begun to poke out, and her throat was drier than the desert. The quarterhorse snorted softly, and poked her nose at her stall door, testing the rotting wood. She pushed a bit, and parts of it crumbled off. Inca pawed at it a bit, the wood simply crumbling to pieces bendable any sort of pressure. Oh, why hadn’t she simply tried this before? Perhaps she wasn’t quite so desperate to leave in the past, clinging on to some shred of hope that her girl would love her again. She backed up a bit, and ran, barreling through the stall door, Inca tosses her dark mane as much as she could, although it was basically one giant knot. She trotted out of the “barn” proudly, and looked back at the old shed she called home somewhat nostalgically. She then remembered all the terror she’d gone through there and snorted, shooting her ears back. “Stupid humans...” she grumbled under her breath, taking off towards a meadow where there’d be good grazing.
Inca lowered her head, and ripped at the grass ravenously as she pricked her ears for any threats, or horses. The cold mare lifted her neck again, and gazed cruelly against the grass dotted horizon. There didn’t seem to be too many horses here, at least not in this area. Perhaps she was still too close to her barn. Her ears flicked nervously as she looked upon the hilly land, deciding finding a herd should be her priority, for now at least. Inca tossed her mane, and pushed her body up on her hind legs, before taking off at a gallop across the plains, neighing loudly, hoping to catch the attention of any lone horses or herds. Anything would suffice, she just needed protection.

    Aʀɪs

    i. Aeris ii. mare iii. 4 iv. Injuries/conditions: deaf v. heat stage/foals: Heat 1 vi. tags: open
    ________________________________________

indentAeris’ deep brown eyes roamed the barn frantically, as she watched the horses begin to show signs of panic, some even kicking down their doors. Perhaps they’d finally grown tired of the gnawing at their bellies and parched throats. Aeris continued to observe the scene, wishing she could know what they were saying. Was there some threat, some danger, that had caused the humans to flee? Certainly, no, that couldn’t be it. They’d only been gone for a week or so, and although that was the longest they’d been gone, surely they’d return. The mare blinked slowly, her long lashes brushing against her cheek as she processed all this information. Some of the horses had begun to look sickly, and even she knew she was losing energy without any food. As much as the mare hated to say it, she had to leave her precious home behind. She huffed, and swiveled her rump towards the door, landing three powerful thrusts of her legs to it. Pain singed her hooves, and travelled up her legs. Aeris gritted her teeth a bit, and snorted. The wood had began to splinter, and it’d continue to break. She had to get out quickly, for she risked dying here if not.
Finally the door had been hacked down to a height Aeris could step over with some effort, and she tossed her mane a bit, rather proud of herself. The quiet mare briskly walked out of the barn, her hooves stirring up the dusty brown dirt floor. She immediately began to graze once she got to the patches of grass outside the barn. Although it wasn’t the best grazing,it was still food, and having something in her belly felt better than nothing. It was then that Aeris realized how parched her throat was, and she began to flare her nostrils. Most horses could find water by smell, and Aeris had naturally heightened senses since losing her hearing left her vulnerable. She twitched her muzzle, and trotted in the direction of where she believed there to be water.
She reached the source quickly, following a trail the humans had made, and drank ravenously from a gurgling spring surrounded by beautiful greenery. After she’d gotten her fill, she shook out her dirtied bicoloured mane and whinnied harshly across the winds. Although she’d be unable to hear other horse’s calls, perhaps they’d hear hers and find her instead. Aeris walked steadily through the debris-filled forest, her eyes darting around nervously as her ears shot back. Not having a sense of sound whatsoever left her easy prey to a mountain lion or wolves. Her sole wish was to find some company, and quickly, for perhaps then she’d be safe.

Gwendolyn's nostrils flared as she sniffed the air, appreciating the fresh scent of the outdoors in comparison to the barn's stench. The barn was used often for grooming and cleaning horses when things were busy in the nicer stalls, so the smell was surely anything but pleasant. Lowering her head, the mare started to nibble at the grass. She hadn't been fed in quite a while, so sneaking in a snack wouldn't do any bad. But as she reached down to eat, Gwendolyn felt she was not alone. A new scent carried briefly in the breeze. Brown eyes scorched her surroundings as she listened attentively, hearing steps - close ones. Rising her head, the horse noticed what seemed to be a stallion - a handsome one, at that - come into view. She shot him a smug glance, adding with a velvet voice. "Why, hello there. I don't believe we've met..."

(Gonna cut it short here for ForgottenShadow!)

    Roulette//11 years//Bachelor//Tags: Mystery
”Huh.” Roulette frowned, glancing to the empty barn. This whole situation was bizarre to him. Why would his family leave him? The girl who owned Roulette adored and pampered him, he couldn't imagine her just leaving him alone like this. Though he didn’t want to believe it, the truth was was that the humans were gone and that they were going to have to fend for themselves now. ”Yeah, I guess so.” He said. The idea of being free was one that excited him. He could run and explore with no limits, he could do whatever he wanted to without anyone stopping him. ”Well, since we’re both wild now, want to start a herd together?” He looked back to Mystery with a smile.

    Lucina//5 years//Lone Mare//Tags: Inez
Lucina tried not to think of the horse back in the stall. Lucina did not know the horse very well, she’s only seen them every now and then around the stable, but knowing that the horse was dead shook her, though she tried not to show it. That could have been her, if Inez hadn’t escaped from her paddock and noticed Lucina. Inez’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts, making Lucina’s ears prick. She nodded her head and spoke. ”Yes, please. Water would be nice.” She winced, speaking was painful for her. Her stall had ran out of water and food, and Lucina hadn’t had anything to drink or eat for awhile.

''Nonononon, listen to me, mon petit croissant~'' The stallion said calmly, his sweet and melodic voice spilling out from his vocal chords. He was walking along his sister, his steps were elegant, gentle and careful. As his extremely shiny, grey-coloured hooves hit the soft grass, pressing it down on the solid ground under his rounded and hard feet, he held his tail up high, proudly along with his head. His ears were perked forward with interest in his surroundings as he saw many herds and beautiful, stunning mares around him, all different breeds, heights, colours and uniqueness. ''I think we should find our humans. I mean, what about my fame? What about my free food and who's supposed to take care of my glamorous hooves, hm?'' The white-coated male battered his incredibly long eyelashes as he looked at his sister. He slowly stopped in his tracks only to stand right beside her, looking at her as she spoke.

''Francis, get over it. They're gone. Missing. They're one hundred percent not coming back. We are free now and we can do whatever we want. While we are experiencing joy right here in the wild, you go on about your fame every second.'' The mare with incredibly long tail said, her tone sounding harsh and rough as she spoke with her utterly selfish and idiotic brother. Her ears were pinned against her heard, staring at the stallion in front of her with fury, but she tried to remain calm. She didn't want to suddenly burst out at him and make him cry or something. Not here when they are near many herds, where she can get embarrassed because of Francis' girly screams or cries. It was very odd for a stallion his age to still have such high voices when he was screaming, yelling or crying, especially since he had a deep voice in general.

But Francis just couldn't help and roll his eyes at his sister, dramatically. ''What do you know? They might of come back. What if they're already back at the farm in Paris, waiting for us or searching for us? Hm? What would happen with my stage name? Prince de la Beaute?'' He noted, before snorting impatiently. ''I'd like to go back. Where even are we? How long have we been even walking for? We've been exploring for days- if not weeks. I'm not going to give up on my owners now, mon papillion.'' The arabian let out a deep sigh, and his raspy tongue glancing out momentarily to wet his grey-coloured muzzle, that was beautifully fading to white as it got around his handsome face.

''Francis. Those moments are gone.'' Francesca noted before taking a step forward closer to her brother. ''You're an idiot for trying to search for them,'' as she continued speaking, her tone got lower and rougher this time, making her sound dead serious. ''I personally think that you're just a narcissist who only cares about himself. You don't even care about others, you just want everything for yourself. I told you so many times what i've been through and you never even seemed to give a single damn about it. You're just a selfish frog who deserves the worst.'' The mare spat out her harsh words just like a sake would spit out poison.

The stallion gasped and took many steps back from his sister. ''Did you just-'' He was shocked. He's never heard his sister talk like this about him, but whatever it was... It hurt him. A lot. He felt a stabbing pain in the heart as he stared down his sister who seemed to be pleased with her insults. ''Oh, mon dieu!'' He cried out, his deep voice getting slightly higher. ''How dare you say that! I am the best brother you've ever had, and without me, you'd be dead by now!'' He said, his tone getting dramatically low all of a sudden. He felt so many emotions suddenly storm through his head, making him even more confused.

''Actually, that's not true. I'd like us to split up. I am sick of you.'' She glared at her brother who seemed to be acting too dramatic again. Anyway words mean nothing, right? That is what Francesca thought. And she didn't care about what she said. She wasn't even feeling sorry for hurting her older brother's feelings. She just wanted to go and stay away from him. She wanted to get rid of him forever. ''I don't need you. And i want to prove to you that i'd survive perfectly fine without you. But you on the other hand, you got a lot to be working on. I don't even think you'd survive until winter or after winter. But anyway, i am done with you. Seriously.''

Francis was shocked. Way too shocked. His eyes went almost as wide as two, rounded plates, his brown orbs shimmering beautifully as he stared into Francesca's soul. In fact, his stare was so intense, his eyes begun to get blurry. ''You are a monster.'' He murmured lowly, before suddenly moving his head to look slightly upward with sass, and lifting up one of his front hooves elegantly. ''Hmph. Bien.'' He simply said, his tone sounding calmer now. ''Aurevoir then, mon petit croissant. It was nice knowing you. Go find a sweaty stallion who's dingy dong has been in every mare he managed to claim. I shall go and prove to you that i can either find my humans or survive after winter.''

''Good. Bye.'' And with that, the mare begun to turn around and walk away.

''Adieu.'' Francis turned around and he begun to walk in his sister's opposite direction.

The both of them were now walking in completely directions, both of them seeming to act different about it. While Francesca's hoof steps were loud and hard on the soft grass, Francis' seemed to be tiny, light steps full of elegance-yet-sass. Fran's neck was hanging low as well as her tail, looking snappy and unhappy with her delicate ears pinned against her head, while Francis has his head elegantly high, as well as his tail, giving off a very elegant and royal-like aura.
Welp. This as it. The both of them were going in different ways and different paths.

The white-coated, arabian mare walked away from her utterly selfish brother with her head down and her ears pinned against her head. Her tail was held low, and her steps were harsh as they hit the soft grass beneath her. She snorted angrily and she didn't even dare to look back. She was now all too busy with finding someone she can talk to. A mare or a stallion of some sort. She didn't want just any other stallion, though. She wanted a big and strong stallion, capable of taking care of her mares. A stallion that would treat her like a queen, and a stallion that would have good sense of humor. She wanted someone cruel-yet-lovable. And she didn't really want to speak to any, snappy mares. She was too good for that.

Even though she was a little bit anti-social, she did enjoy someone's company, from time to time. She hated being all alone in this world forever, no matter how hard it was for her to admit it. Her sparkly, brown eyes glanced around from horse to horse as she watched them, and everything around her. She scanned her surroundings carefully with her beautiful, brown-coloured orbs, aware that there might be some dangers around. She was a wild mare now, and she could get attacked by a predator any second. The arabian mare immediately straightened up her position and perked her ears forward, and then moving them at the sound of almost anything. She needed to stay alert. She didn't want to get killed or attacked right after she left her brother, did she? She'd fail as a mare.

She's never experienced the cruel, wild world, but she was so damn ready for it. She needed to survive until winter and maybe then, she'd be able to see her brother again. She wanted to show him that she was able to survive and that she is much better than he is. She knew that it would be cruel to admit this, but... She hoped he'd fail. She wanted him to fail as a stallion by the time winter comes. She doesn't really want him to die, but she wants him to fail at life in general. She couldn't bare to see him win. But what if both of them succeed? Or what if both of them fail? Oh boy. They'd have to break that tie.

As much as she fears it, the competition might get even more real. They might even end up trying to kill each other if another tie would come along. Sure, she knew that they were siblings and no matter how disgusted Francesca would be to admit this, she still loved Francis as he was her sibling. She didn't really want to get him killed because of a little tie, but it's not like he could fight anyway. Well, she never tested his force and strength, but hey. It's not too late to make any assumptions now, is it?

    |:|Mare|:|5 years old|:|Marwai|:|Herd: Open|:|Tags:open|:|

The lovely mare trotted around the beautiful, wide and open fields of nature, her hooves beating against the soft grass as their hit the ground, her weight crushing the green grass under her incredibly heavy weight. Her curved ears were perked forward with a lot of interest as she looked around, her dark brown orbs scanning her surroundings carefully, staying alert. Her tail was lifted up high, showing the pure happiness that was flowing through her body and mind. Serendipity felt so free and nice- she couldn't describe how overwhelmed she was by her surroundings. She enjoyed looking around her, her eyes always finding something new and interesting to look at.

She couldn't wait to have a few horses approach her and interact with her. She was so interested to see how wild mares and stallions would act. Would they be nice and kind? Or would they be wild, free and serious? Would they be rude, snappy and harsh on her? Would they bully her for being tamed once? Would the wild foals be as playful as she heard they'd be? There were so many questions that were muddling up her mind, making her even more curious. She would love to find someone friendly who she could always hang out with and talk to. She hated being alone. She wanted to have someone there for her, just like her mama was.

Even though she was a grown mare, she still felt like a filly sometimes. But Serendipity was also aware of harsh stallions who'd be aggressive with her. She had such a free, wild and joyful spirit, and it would be such a shame to let it be crushed by a bad stallion who liked to be violent. She was scared of violence and she hated fighting. But it was a necessary skill to have in the wild, as there would be many hungry predators around. Her worst fear was being tortured and slowly killed, in the end dying a slow and painful death. She was fine with the natural death and she'd rather have that than being killed by a predator.

She was also curious to see if she would be able to survive well. Would she adapt fast to her surroundings? This was the main question she had. Would she survive? She was scared as she thought about this. She wanted to survive and die naturally. That was her main goal in life.... Well, not really. Her main goal in life was having many foals and teaching her the ways her mama taught her. Teaching them how to enjoy life up to their fullest level and finding their true happiness within their hardships.

Star /\ Stallion /\ Nine Years /\ Knapstrupper /\ Pasture /\ Herd: None /\ Tags: Fairy

When the spotted mare said she knew where to find water, Spot perked up. She even offered to show him, which was even better. She seemed nice and it was nice to have company. Plus, it seemed that she wasn't keen on being alone either. "I'd love if you could show me. It's been a while since I've had something to drink."he answered her. Then when she introduced herself, Star felt a bit ashamed. How had he not done that immediately. He knew better. "My full name is Warrior of the Stars, but that's a bit of a mouthful. I go by Star most of the time." he answered quickly as he eyed her saddle. "Do you want to leave your saddle on? I can try to help you get it off." he offered. He knew saddles weren't uncomfortable, but he figured Fairy wouldn't want to carry it around if they were truly giving up on their humans.

Blizzard /\ Stallion /\ One Year /\ Knabstrupper x Appaloosa /\ Pasture /\ Herd: None /\ Tags: Wildfire

Blizzard approached the chestnut colt happily. He never really had another colt to to play with or hang out with at the farm. Maybe this one could be a friend or something. "My humans disappeared too. My sire and I left together but we split up. My name is Blizzard. Well, it's Blinding Blizzard, but just Blizzard is fine." he answered Wildfire excitedly "So are you alone, too?" he asked curiously. He didn't see any other horses around, so he figured that Wildfire was, just like him.

Magic /\ Stallion /\ Twelve Years /\ Lippizaner /\ His barn /\ Herd: None /\ Tags: Solar, Val

Magic watched as Solar and Val did their dominance thing for a moment more before they both stopped. Part of him enjoyed watching it, but the other part knew that it wasn't exactly the right time for that. For now it seemed everyone was calming down, with Val even checking on Solar's leg. That was of course until the dappled mare called him out for enjoying the fact they were fighting over him. He wasn't entirely sure that they were fighting over him, but he couldn't deny that it made him feel good about himself. The comment had a joking tone though, so he didn't exactly have to defend himself.
"Temper or not, we have to work together now. Our humans are gone, so we'll need to find food, water, and shelter. Neither of you would happen to know where to start looking, would you?" he asked. Although he wasn't originally from these parts, he rarely ever left the ranch where he had spent the the years since moving here. If neither of them knew, they'd just have to pick a direction and explore.

Cloud /\ Mare /\ Four Years /\ Thoroughbred /\ Her pasture /\ Herd: None /\ Heat: Stage 2 /\ Tags: Gunner

At Gunner's suggestion, she nodded in agreement. Anything was better than staying there and dying of starvation or dehydration. Or both. She looked at him, looking into her eyes, and after a minute, looked away shyly before she began moving towards the property across the street. Before she crossed the asphalt divider, she paused to look for cars. She knew she could get hit by one if she wasn't careful, but there were none. Maybe Gunner was right and all the humans had really gone. Carefully she crossed the street and began searching the property. She was driven by hunger and thirst, but before she found anything, she found something else. There were a pair of mares grazing in a paddock. "Gunner! There are some horses still here!" she called out to the stallion as she approached the paddock. "Are you guys alright? Are your humans here or have they disappeared like ours?" she asked the pair curiously.

Tiger /\ Mare /\ Ten Years /\ AQH /\ Her pasture /\ Herd: None /\ Heat: Stage 1 /\ Tags: Nivkh
"Nivkh, huh? That's an interesting name. Mine's Tiger. I've never seen one of those before, but I guess my brindle patter makes me kinda look like one? That's what my humans used to say anyway." she replied casually as she walked around the fence to get a better look at the spotted stallion. He seemed nice enough. "No, I'm on my own here now. There's no one to wait for. I was just searching for food and water. Mainly water since there is plenty of grass. Know where I can find any?" she asking him. She wasn't dying of thirst quite yet, but she didn't want to wait until she was to find a water source.

Smokey /\ Stallion /\ Eleven Years /\ AQH x Mustang /\ Tied up outside barn /\ Herd: None /\ Tags: Cascade and Honey
Smokey wasn't sure how long he waited, tied to the post his owner left him at. He was trained to wait and even though he was hungry and thirsty, he still hoped that this owner would reappear soon. He had actually dozed off when he heard something coming from behind him. He perked his ears forward and turned his head to see a little red dun filly running toward him. He didn't recognize her, which meant she probably wasn't from this ranch. Maybe she had gotten out from another one nearby. There were other cattle ranches in the area. As he moved around the post slightly to face the filly, he saw her dam chasing after her. Another grullo just like him. He certainly did't want to anger the mare by appearing threatening to her foal, not like he would have been anyway. Instead, he lowered his head to greet the filly. Hi there. Who are you?" he asked her before looking at the mare. "Are you guys alright?" he addressed the grullo. It was pretty rare to see escaped horses around here, especially a mare with a foal. The humans usually paid careful attention to baby animals, so the fact that the pair was here concerned him.

Biscuit (Biz) /\ Mare /\ Nine Years /\ Lusitano /\ In her stall /\ Herd: None /\ Heat: Stage 3 /\ Tags: Open
Biscuit yawned when she woke up. She was laying down in her stall, and as she came to, something didn't seem right. No one had woken her up. How had no one woken her up? She got to her feet and shook some of the shavings off of her before sticking her head over her stall door and looking around. There was no one. No kids or adults. Strange. Was is some sort of holiday? No, even if it was, someone should have been around to feed her. The buckskin pulled her head back in her stall and checked for food. No hay and her food bucket was empty. Luckily there was still a little bit of water. What was going on? It was like the humans had forgotten to come to the barn this morning. Biz started nickering, which soon turned into whinnying as she desperately tried to get someone's attention.

I listen as the mare spoke, I could tell she was upset about the situation and I wanted to be able to comfort her, tell her that everything will be okay, however my mother once told me that before you love anyone else you need to learn to love yourself. "Oh, that sucks. I wonder why they're all disappearing, it's like they didn't even care about us." I spoke how I felt. Maybe they don't care about us after all.

I accept the mares breath, inhaling and exhaling deeply. Listening to her every word, watching her every move. It was nice being around a mare, being around one this kind is just an added bonus. The mares question frightened me. I wish I could lie, tell her they had returned but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. "Sadly not, that's why I am here. I escaped my stall and then ran into you." I explain sadly. It's only been a few days but I already miss humans deeply.

I follow Cloud across the street, when the horses catch my eye. "Yes Cloud. It appears there are horses here." I say to Cloud. "Are you okay?" I whinny loudly as I call out to the horses in the paddock. One of the horses appears to be an older mare. She probably won't live for much longer. The other one however seems younger, more lively. If I can get them to join me I can class myself as a leader of a herd. I will no longer be a bachelor stallion.

I nod as he asked if my humans disappeared. "It's nice to me-meet you Sikke. I'm Nova." Despite the fact that I'm still tripping over my words I begin to feel a little more confident around this new stallion. "You can stay with me if you want, but I don't want to be a pain." It will be nice company having a stallion hanging around. I would like to have someone to trust for once.

The stallions proposal caught me off guard. I was left lost for words for a good few minutes. He seems nice enough, and if I don't say yes then I know another, possibly meaner stallion is going to come an snake me. "Ummm...."
What I am supposed to say? "Yes. My answer is yes, I would love to start a herd with you."

Suddenly I hear a mare call out and the water slows. I twist my head around to get a good look at the horse. "Oh my goodness!" I say, happy the water has stoped. "I thought I was going to die here. Can you possibly help me undo this tie?" I ask the mare, the need to escape now stronger than ever. Hunger building up in my belly.

I slowly munch on the last few strands of hay on in my hay net. It will need to be restocked soon, but sadly even a horse as great as me needs to be patient and wait for food sometimes. I flick my tail the the flies taking refuge on my elegant body. Flies are just peasants, they should just go away and get a life. I begin to get tired and so I slowly close my eyes and drift off into a deep calm sleep.

I back away from the paddock gate and get ready to run and jump. I've never been a jumping horse but I'll just have to work something out. I begin to canter up to the gate. I leap into the air and get the sensation of flying before I land on the ground on the other side. I stand still for a minute, trying to comprehend my next move. If those stupid humans want to just leave all of a sudden then they should expect me to run away. I begin to trot through the other paddocks, steering myself through the open gates. I turn and take one last look at home before leaving. Those humans were never nice to me anyway.

Roulette’s eyes brightened when Mystery agreed. ”Great!” He said, a smile plastered on his face. The humans may be gone, but Roulette was off to a good start. He was free from his paddock and had a friend to journey with him. Though, Roulette has never been a wild horse, nor has he ever had a herd, so he was a bit stuck on what to do next. ”Well, now that we’re both free, why don’t we get going?” He suggested. They could stay at the barn if they really wanted to, but Roulette would rather go out and see what was beyond.

The quarter horse lifted her head to listen carefully, she heard a whinny back! Oh joy! She hoped it wasn’t just a stallion trying to form a band of senseless mares but she hightailed it toward the winny. She eagerly cantered up to a pasture, with the electric fencing in which she had seen in the cattle pastures before. Inside she saw another mare, a little buckskin, who looked terribly tired. Her heart ached for the mare, as her mothering senses were starting to tingle. “Excuse me, are you okay?” She said softly through the fence, trying to avoid the electric line.

She stepped out of the stall and looked up a tad to speak to the stallion. "My name is Tauney and I thank you for your help." She said tossing her head softly, making her mane fall gently into a 'bedhead' look. "What would your name be and where are you from?" She said, starting to walk toward his left side toward the opened entrance. She awaited an answer from the stallion.

“I do happen to know one.” He said, walking casually toward the pathway back towards his just escaped home. “Are you willing to follow?” He asked gently, he didn’t want to seem demanding. He didn’t want this pretty brindle to slip to some bossy purebred. He was going to be his normal self, a gentle but firm horse. He knew that mares weren’t as much as objects as other stallions had described. He hoped she would take a liking for him as he assisted her along this meeting.
