Haraka - male king cheetah - other big cats

Haraka leapt up onto a rocky outcropping, chirping anxiously. Where was he? Why was he here? Why had he gone after that carrion? He jumped back down and paced in front of the ledge, tail swishing violently.

Langka - female NGSD - other dogs

Langka lay in her kennel. She had been one of the first here, and it broke her heart every time someone new was brought here. She knew some were won over by their good treatment, but this place was no better than a crammed cage in a dark room.
