Although Erebus had been awake for three hours prior to his owner, the brute had stayed in his place- at his master’s heels. The two were quite alike; not used to, and not exactly a fan of affection. Instead of showing each other love, they often shared a mutual respect. They were extremely close, but Michael considered his canine a companion, rather than a pet.
Tossing his blanket to the side, Michael lifted himself off the bed and immediately into the kitchen, not giving Erebus a second glance. At this, the Beauceron simply followed after him. His stomach groaned and lurched, a pang of hunger rippling through him.
“Today’s a slow day,” the human deadpanned. Pouring himself a glass of orange juice, he glanced down at Erebus, who returned the indifferent stare. “That means you’re free to do whatever. You know the drill.” Suddenly grimacing at the taste of the bitter citrus, he decided to leave the drink for later. “I’ll pick something up on the way.” He turned, opening the door. Forgetting about his hunger, Erebus weaved and slithered in between his master’s legs, stopping to make sure he exited safely before taking his leave.
Although he already had a destination in mind, Erebus made sure to stop by Lotus’ door. He quietly inhaled, noticing that the younger male’s scent was strong. Still home.
He turned, pacing for a bit before crawling down the stairs, and into the parking lot. Without hesitation, Erebus continued towards the dog park, not taking a second glance back.
