ＬＩＶＩＮＧＩＮＳＭＯＧ

The city is a tough place to live for wildlife, and in this particular city, plenty of cats have to find a way to survive. Some have formed colonies and assist each other, some live in their own territories by themselves, and others wander across the city with no specific home to call their own. Other cats live the pampered life of a house cat, perching on windows and watching life go by. There are currently four large colonies of cats. The Smoky Colony, the Colossal Colony, the Azure Colony, and the Brick Colony. Each colony has their own perks, and their own threats they face nearly every day.

★ For this RP, I will not be accepting LGBTQ+ characters. However, I won't tolerate hate toward the LGBTQ+ community.

★ Creating drama is encouraged, but no major plot points that involve large groups of cats without my permission.
★ Feel free to suggest major drama to me via PM at any time.
★ Be polite to your fellow writers in OOC discussions.
★ We aren't accepting orphaned kittens [aka, cats under six months without mothers.]

ＴＨＥＬＡＷＳＯＦＴＨＥＣＯＬＯＮＩＥＳ

★ Each cat should do their fair share of work every day, whether it be patrolling the territory, guarding camp, hunting, or scavenging.
★ Cats from different colonies are allowed to become mates, so long as they don't meet in a specific colony's territory, but they must decide which colony to live in.
★ Do not invade another colony's territory.
★ Lone Cats, Wanderers, and House Cats are to be kept out of colony territories, unless they seek to join the colony. All outsiders who wish to join must be accepted.
★ Do not kill fellow colony cats.
★ Take your fair share of food, and make sure that everyone in your colony has eaten.
★ If any cat breaks any of these laws, they will be driven out of the colony.
★ Kittens under six months aren't allowed to leave the camp under any circumstance.

ＡＢＯＵＴＴＨＥＣＯＬＯＮＩＥＳ

★ The Smoky Colony - A colony of cats that resides in the largest restaurant district in the city. A bit of smoke from the kitchen floats into the alleyways whenever the doors are opened, giving the colony this name. There is almost always a delicious scent in the air, and plenty of food to be found in trash cans. Sometimes, the chefs of certain restaurants are even willing to give scraps and bowls of water, since the cats keep down rat populations, but other chefs will try to scare nearby cats off.
Camp - Their camp is located on the furthest alleyway, which is also the largest. At the end, it's protected by a tall, rusty chainlink fence, and there are a lot of large dumpsters, wooden boxes, and wooden pallets lying around.
Pros - Plenty of food year-round, less cars, plenty of shelter
Cons - Lots of humans, trappers, more disease

★ The Colossal Colony - A colony of cats that's located in the important business district of the city, which is kept fairly clean. The buildings are horrifyingly tall, hence, the colony's name. Humans walk across the streets, and the traffic of cars is never-ending. Arguably, this colony tends to be the hardest one to live in, but yet, they seem to manage.
Camp - Their camp is located underneath a concrete bridge, the stream that once ran underneath has dried up very long ago, and now, litter is scattered along the ground.
Pros - Less trappers, less disease
Cons - Lack of shelter, not a lot of food sources, lots of cars

★ The Azure Colony - A colony of cats that lives in a large park within the city. These cats hunt the animals [squirrels, waterfall, and small birds, mainly], climb trees, and avoid humans at all costs. They have a clear view of the sky, and that gave them their name, 'Azure,' after the color of the sky.
Camp - Their camp is within a dense cluster of bushes, shielding them out of sight of humans. Since it's not a great place to hang around, most cats scatter through the camp during the day, only arriving to camp to sleep.
Pros - Plenty of prey and water, less trappers, less cars
Cons - Lots of dogs, lots of humans, less shelter

★ The Brick Colony - This colony lives in the residential district of the city, named after the brick buildings that surround them. It's located in a quieter area than the rest of the city, and though there are a number of humans, most of them tend to leave the cats alone. However, trappers do tend to come by here often, but less so than the restaurant district.
Camp - Their camp is within an old abandoned home that has yet to be dealt with. It provides great amount of shelter, especially since dogs nor humans never check it out.
Pros - Plenty of shelter, relatively peaceful, fair amount of food
Cons - Dogs, lots of humans, trappers

Whisky was curled up on a rotting wooden pallet, the early scents of bacon and pastries that the humans make every morning wafting into his nostrils. His stomach growled softly, but his muscles refused to allow him to move. He was much too tired to get up and search for food right now. Nobody would get mad if he slept in just a little longer, right?

ＳＰＥＣＴＥＲ

Specter currently sat on top of the concrete bridge, where, underneath the colony's camp sits. Underneath, he could hear the other cats stirring, but didn't feel compelled to greet any of them. Instead, he sat by himself, watching the fast-moving world around him as he quietly groomed out his long white coat.

Blossom had an early start to her day, quietly padding out of the colony's camp and carefully making her way across the territory, making sure to avoid heavily human-populated areas. She found an area with a line of trash cans, and immediately scented the air, catching onto the smell of a rat. She could hear the soft squeaks, too. Walking with light footfalls, she searched the area for the rodent.

Rosa found herself struggling to go back to sleep as the sun began to rise, and decided to go for a walk to pass the time. Giving her fur a quick grooming and doing a few stretches, she made her way out of camp, and walked across the grassy park, keeping an eye on her surroundings. She could see the lake ahead, where a bridge goes across it, and began to go in that direction.

Ebony had settled his nest on the second floor of the building Brick Colony's camp resides, near a barred-up window, which allowed him to take glimpses of the outside. He had gone out of the camp a little earlier in search of food, and upon rustling through a trash can, she found a half-eaten chicken leg. He's currently crouched near his nest, gnawing on the scraps of meat that remain clinging to the bone.

Marble was lying on her side atop a counter in the kitchen, where a beam of sunlight shined down from between the barred window. She purred quietly, enjoying the pleasant heat. She was glad she got to the spot this early, as sometimes she woke up too late to relax there. With a grin across her face, she rolled onto her back, letting the sun heat up her belly.

Howl walked along the edges of Smoky Colony's territory, eyes rested on a restaurant in the distance. First order of the day, find something to eat. Second order of the day, perhaps finding a pretty molly to flirt with. After swiftly dodging the shuffling feet of humans, he finds his way to the alleyway of the restaurant. He growled to himself when he noticed the dumpster was closed, which prevented him from going in. He decided to squeeze underneath it and search for anything that might've found its way under there.

At this point in the morning, her human already left. Darling started off her own morning by taking a few bites of the dry food, a few laps of water, and grooming out her fur. Afterwards, she found a partially opened window, and squeezed out of it onto the roof. From there, she carefully made her way down the fire escape until she reached the concrete ground. She took a deep breath, taking in the breeze that ruffled her fur.

Flower is eating a piece of ham she found in the trash can, savoring the delicious taste. She scans the building, seeing whose up and about this morning. She sees Ebony and her heart starts to pound. She is in love with the tom and just wants to be together.

DUSK

Dusk looked up at the sky, a mess of grey clouds that promised rain. With a sigh, she looked around the camp. Very few cats were awake at this time. With a yawn, the brown tabby made her was towards the entrance in search of a companion.

WHISPER
Colony: Azure • Location: Leaving Camp • Tags: n/a

Whisper looked around at the soft grass of the park, the fresh are whisking her fur. Spotting another cat making their way steadily towards the bridge, she got to her paws and walked forward, hoping for some company.

CREEK
Colony: Smokey • Location: Camp • Tags: n/a

Creek sat, tail twitching, looking up at the building smelling strongly of delicious foods. She desperately longed to have a taste, but she noted that apparently no other cats were awake, and decided on postponing her adventure for later.
