{ Juniper yawned, her maw gaping open, teeth glinting in the small stream of sunlight that filtered down through the half-scorched foliage of the tree overhead. She shook her head, still foggy with half forgotten dreams and stretched, her long thin limbs trembling slightly as the muscles tensed. Half awake, she placed her long muzzle down on her paws, looking out from her well chosen resting spot in the hollow base of a dying tree. The day was bright, the breeze brisk, a good day for patrol. Knowing her fellow pack mates would already be up and about's, too restless to indulge in proper sleep, she hauled herself to her feet to go join them and organise proper patrols. The dry warmth of her den seemed to seize her as she left, the fresh air and movement chasing the mist of sleep from her the corners of her brain. She was ready to face the day and all that it may contain.

{ Boo had woken up with a desperate need to relieve himself. Unwilling to 'go' anywhere near the resting places of his beloved pack-mates, he had ran with careless abandon down one of the many streets of Caravas. His bladder didnt allow him to go far, but he had made it to a small patch of grass and greenery that would have once been called a garden. His rather abrupt start to the day done with, he decided to continue on his way, strolling down the streets, dodging debris and leftover rubbish, stopping to sniff a rather smelly piece of metal before moving on, simply enjoying the bright morning with the innocent abandon of those who do not fear any harm.

The Pit Bull's angled ears perked as he heard the paw-steps of another dog. Having just come from that direction, he could only assume that it was one of his pack mates, even before his head turned to find Malia a dozen or so yards away. The wind was working against him, otherwise he would have picked up her scent before she became close enough to hear. He turned towards her, padding closer so that they did not need to speak over such distance. Corvid gave her a small nod of greeting as she said hello, twice. "Ah, two greetings this morning? I must have done something special to deserve that." He tilted his head to one side, teasing, a rather amused look resting on his features. The canine turned back and began walking the same direction he had been heading previously, then turned to glance back at her, signaling that he wasn't trying to leave her, but he also didn't want to stand and talk in once place.

The more structures she passed, the stronger the scents of other dogs became, making it fairly obvious to the greyhound that she wouldn't be the only one here. Cyris kept thinking that she could see the pelt of other dog, out of the corner of her eye, but for now, she was still alone. The female trotted down the sidewalk, glancing down every alleyway that she happened to pass, finding it all utterly empty. Huffing, she made her way into one of the buildings, careful that her paws didn't step on any glass or scrap metal. She sniffed around the interior before heading up the stairs, which seemed to be a lot more intact than some of the others. Finding noting useful inside, Cyris made her way over to the end of the building, where a large window once stood, broken long ago. Her front paws rested just an inch or so from the end of the structure, giving her a good view of the area. Her head tilted in surprise as her gaze landed on a large dog in the distance, heading down the same street that led to the building she was currently in. Her thin tail swung lazily back and forth behind her. She awaited until he was closer before speaking up."Hey big boy." She paused a moment, then continued. "This place reeks of mutts. You happen to know anything about that?"

Heidi stretched before shaking the sleep off of her fur. The rising sunlight warmed up her furry, white pelt as she gazed around the pack's territory. She wagged her tail and began making her way to the rest of the territory to hunt for prey. All different scents rushed through her nose though some smelled of prey. Curious, Heidi padded slowly across the road towards the sidewalk, still a tad nervous about the once-busy streets.

{ Boo padded on down the street, looping around until he was heading back to the pack grounds. His steps light, he loped along. He caught a soft scent in the air, familiar and welcoming. He adjusted course until he spotted the small white terrier further down the path. Wagging his tail softly in friendly greeting, he called out; "Good morning Heidi!". He continued to close the distance, wondering what Heidi was up to today. Seeing as she was a hunter, he presumed she would probably go out to find something to catch for the pack to eat. That was the logical answer anyways, but it wouldnt hurt to ask all the same! He slowed as he neared, posture friendly and welcoming. "Whatcha' up to today?" he barked cheerfully.

Heidi's head snapped towards the direction of a familiar voice. She wagged her tail, recognizing the scent and the dog who had spoken to her. She walked a few tiny steps forward due to her small paws."Hello, Boo!" she replied back before shaking her head to rid of a lone fly buzzing around her ear. "I'm just looking for some prey to hunt; what are you doing?" Heidi perked her head to the side in interest.

{ Boo smiled at the perky canine, pleased to have someone to talk to. "Prey! Haven't seen much around this part of town, you might have better luck round by the small park, theres generally a few rabbits around there!" He offered helpfully, trying to do his part towards the pack. "I'm not doing anything at this moment in time, why don't we go there together! Im not a good hunter, but I'll guard anything you catch and help you bring it back!". He wagged his tail, flopped ears waving in the breeze. "If you dont mind me tagging along that is..." he murmured softly, realizing how sheepish he was being. Eager for company he simply smiled, trying to brush off his slight awkwardness with friendliness.

Chief couldn't help but feel uneasy, he didn't know why. He shook it off probably nothing... but maybe something. He tried not to taunt himself as he walk through the streets that were burnt into him memory. He tried to clear his mind slightly turning corner after corner, every time he turned he felt more and more like something or someone was closing in. There it was, a voice that stunned him, it took him a moment to pinpoint the dog's location but he was already standing square with his hackles up. "You best be off!" he growled gruffly. "The only mutt I smell here is you" he added, his glare intense, he would be at her through by now if it weren't for the fact that he felt too stunned to leaped in through that window... thats a good idea actually he though, he compromised by standing up on the other side, almost dwarfing the other dog, breathing heavily down his nose.

"Hey, thanks for letting me know! The park might have some rabbits, or maybe even squirrels, and I used to love chasing squirrels!" Heidi gave a thankful yap as a small grin formed on her snout. "And of course you can come with me! We can chat on the way there!" she gave a quick sniff of the air, trying to search for the park's scent.

{ Boo smiled, his whole body wagging along with his tail. "Great! Lets go then!" he yapped happily. Turning on the balls of his feet, he moved to stand by Heidi's side. "Thanks for letting me tag along, I'll stay out of you way when you're actually hunting" he added, beaming sheepishly. He padded alongside, keeping pace as they headed towards the park. He had never had the chance to chase squirrels before, maybe, if the prey was good, he would get the chance now, though he didnt understand the point of chasing creature if you didnt plan to catch it...

Heidi glanced back up at Boo. "Okay!" she barked as she began padding along his side. "Also, you don't have to stay away when I'm hunting. In fact, you could help me if you want!" Heidi sniffed the air, the scent of the park was able to be faintly smelled among the other stenches and aromas of the city. The thought of hunting or chasing squirrels was exciting to her, making her tail wag.
