Camile looked up when the other stallion, the heftier draft, came up to the baroque mare and began making conversation with her. He watched them for a moment before flicking his blonde tail and shaking out his mane before turning and trotting off, deciding to try his luck elsewhere. He wouldn't have wedged himself between the mare and stallion even if he had a chance against him, he was smart enough to know that much at least. He let out an irate whinny as he wandered off.

mare - 7 years - heat stage 4 - tagged: blizzard

Thrush halted and allowed the small band she was following to pull ahead when she heard a voice behind her. Turning to face the source of the voice, she noticed a white baroque stallion. She took a small step back to put a more comfortable distance between them before she shook out her mane momentarily before looking back to the stallion, "Hello." She whinnied, returning his greeting as she bowed her head respectfully.

Alourana halted when she heard someone call out to her and turned to face the source of the sound, which just so happened to be a slightly shorter mixed-breed stallion. She stared at him for a moment, gauging him carefully as she looked him over, noting that he was clearly much younger than her, before turning her head away and beginning to graze calmly, a signal that he could approach if he chose to do so.

"Oh, hello," Violet replies. "Nice to meet you, Alex." She looks for the other stallion, but he has already trotted away. She turns back to Alex. "So...not much life left here is there?" She asked uneasily, trying to break the ice.

"I'm Blizzard, or Blizz. Nice to meet you. What's your name?" Blizzard asks respectfully, noticing that the mare has warily kept her distance. He keeps his too. "I'm no threat." He dips his head.

"Blizzard," she said experimentally, as if testing out the name before she gave a nod, "Well, Blizzard, I'm Thrush, nice to meet you." She replied, glancing over her shoulder at the band she had been following, only to realize they were long gone. The lead mare must have lead them off after they noticed the white baroque stallion's presence. No matter. "So, you've no herd?" She asked simply--curtly--as she looked back to the stallion and, taking a step forward, gestured around them. There were a few bands scattered here and there, but each had a stallion dutifully wandering around their mares. He, on the other hand, stood alone, with no mares of his own nearby.

Blizzard thinks for a moment before replying. He did not want it to see, that he was not as strong and powerful as the others. "Well, I'll not lie. I don't have any mares to protect, yet. But I'm looking for some to join me," he neighs, looking around. "Would you like to join me, then?" He tilts his head.

She laughs lightly for a moment. He certainly had an odd way about him, not once had she been asked to join a herd, but then again, she had never actually been invited to a herd, so it's not like she could tell what the norm there was. "Sure, I suppose I could join you." She replied, offering yet another short nod to the younger male. "Now they're your problem." She snickered jokingly as she gestured to a group of bachelors in the distance, talking among themselves and looking around at the few herds and bands as if choosing who to pick off. They were barely any threat to a two-horse-herd. Why go after a herd with only one mare when you could go for a larger one and get more? If they managed to get past the lead mare and stallion, of course.

"They won't be a threat to us," Blizzard says seriously, thinking. That's when he realises Thrush's joking tone. "Hey!" He snorts indignantly, pretending to be very mad. He looks back at the bands of bachelors. "Better be careful, still." He tenses as the wind blows the scent of Thrush's heat toward him. He isn't very sure if Thrush wants to be covered yet. A little absent-mindedly, he steps closer and begins to groom Thrush.
