brina weaved her way through the trees, her sorrel coat easily camouflaging her from the outside plains. she almost always stuck to the trees as she was never one for the center of attention and she had absolutely no desire to mingle with other horses. she was an outcast and since she could never quite seem to stay in a herd, brina deemed it that she should never be in a herd. now she knew that she couldn't avoid being snaked by a stallion should one come along her path, but she was darn well going to try and avoid one. she didn't know many who actually traveled in the trees and if they did, brina had never come along their path, which seemed weird in itself.

laini stood between one of the several breaks of trees along the forest. her head was lowered to the ground as she brushed her lips along the top of the grass in disinterest. she huffed out a breath of boredom, head raising to survey the land before her. she knew there were several horses among her, but she didn't feel the need to move and find them. albeit she did feel the need to move to a water source as her parched throat was thrust to the center of her attention. laini plodded off towards the nearest water source, the lake. the lake was a shared water source among the herds around it and laini was almost absolutely positive she would encounter another horse there as well. she sighed in relief as she crested one of the hills that overlooked the lake. like she had predicted, other horses were there, but laini made them out to be of no threat. she headed down to the shore and stood at the edge of the water, the tiny waves lapping over her hooves. she once again lowered her head to the ground and drank from the lake, the grainy texture of the water from the sediments not bothering her as she had been used to them for quite some time. while she drank, laini kept her eyes scanning the shores of the lake in front of her for any potential dangers, her muscles somewhat tensed in preparation to flee if need be.

F L A M E 🔥hate is stronger than love🔥
🔥 Lone Mare 🔥 Anglo-Teke 🔥 4 years 🔥 Stallion: None 🔥 Foals: Jet(Died) 🔥 Heat: 2 🔥 Tags: Agate, Garnet, Asmund, Opal 🔥

~ the day she left ~

Flame would never shake the image of Jet lying in the grass, eyes closed as if merely asleep, but lifeless. Jet, who belonged to Bolt. Jet wasn’t her foal and would never be. She gritted her teeth at the thought of Bolt. Thieving, lying scoundrel, that. She would never be that foolish, not ever again.

~ her mental breakdown ~

Flame tried to forget everything in her past life, but she couldn’t. When she went for a drink at the lakes or streams, she saw Bolt’s figure reflected beside hers. When she galloped through the forest, she heard Amber’s dying cries on the wind. When she trotted through the meadow, she saw Jet, bright and alive, calling out to her. Flame closed her eyes, but the images just became more distinct. She stomped the ground in frustration. Why was the world so cruel? She almost bashed herself into a tree in her anger. When she finally did, she calmed down a little. Bolt wasn’t going to find her. Jet wasn’t her foal. Amber...was going to forgive her. If only she could convince herself enough.

~ current day ~

Although very shocked and slightly angry at Garnet's snapping and shoving, Flame stood back. Flame knew Garnet was protecting them and she appreciated it. As Garnet stared him down, Flame glared through narrowed eyes.
Sensing worry in Agate's gaze, Flame snorted to tell her not to worry. Stepping up a little to Garnet's side, Flame whispered in a voice loud enough for the older mare to hear, but not enough for the stallion to listen.
"We should just get him to leave." Flame wasn't sure about the two older mares, but she definitely didn't want the stallion around. She stepped back again, hoping Garnet didn't feel threatened by Flame's actions and words.

Lupa nodded at Kaia's words as a show of gratitude. She waited as Jayra finished nursing, then she nursed hungrily. Kaia was nice; a strange personality to Lupa. Her own mother, Blossom, had been snappy and demanding. Kaia however, seemed to be the opposite, she was gentle and kind.
Lupa looked around at her new herd, taking in the new faces and scents properly for the first time. Noticing that the tall draft wasn't with them, Lupa turned to Kaia and asked with genuine curiousity.
"Where's the big draft stallion? Will he be back soon? I think leaving us here is a bit too vulnerable."
Not having grown in a proper herd, Lupa didn't understand the concept of a herd at all.
Turning around, she saw the big draft return and move to one of his mares. Lupa narrowed her eyes. So, this draft was not going to bother that she was here at all? Maybe he had a herd so big he could not keep track of everyone. Well, Lupa was going to make him notice her presence.
She marched up to the big stallion and his mare.
“Who are you?” She asked the mare.
“And who are you?” She asked the stallion, in a louder voice.

Seolta pricked her ears as the stallion called to her, then allowed her to approach. She huffed, then cantered to their small company, warily keeping her distance. Based on her experiences, others had not taken nicely to her appearance, and she was not about to get driven out again, whatever happened.
She neighed at the stallion, who was grazing. Most horses preferred to ignore her, but she wanted due respect.
“My name is Seolta,” she introduced herself, careful to keep her blind eye out of his sight. She could never be too careful, as many stallions did not like disabled mares in their herd.
She surveyed the other herd members. This herd seemed to be newly formed, with a young filly in their midst. Seolta did not mind young horses, or any other horses in that matter; it seemed that they were the ones who minded her.

Garnet

Mare | 16.3 hh | American SB x TN Walker|6 Years |Link| Herd: None |Heat: 1| Feeling: Protective|Tag/s: Agate, Flame, Asmund, Opal

_____________

Garnet's nostrils flared, sucking in a scent coming to her. Her head had barely lofted to its high position when a call curls into her ears. She thrusts them forward, taking in its tone. The mare's thin sides begin to heave as she sucks in air, almost excited to face what is about to crown the hill. Quickly, she rushes to her sister and Flame. Garnet forcibly hushes their conversation, allowing her anger to take over. With a nip to one's flank, and a snap at another's shoulder, the red mare pushes them behind her. The little trust she had for other horses had been exhausted on Flame, leaving her nerves very raw as it was. Spring was not a time in which a mare should leave their guard down, or some brute of a stallion will rush into the opening like water in a flood. Finally, as the healthy paint comes into sharp focus, she turns to him and stares him down.

Agate

Mare | 15 hh | American SB x TN Walker|6 Years |Link| Herd: None |Heat: 1| Feeling: Nervous|Tag/s: Garnet, Flame, Asmund, Opal

_____________

Following her new friend's, or so Agate hoped she could call Flame, direction, Agate drops her muzzle to the turf beneath her with hopes to graze. Smiling in between soft bites and chews, she enjoys the feeling of contentment. Her body and mind settle entirely into a method of mindless eating. Then, noises break her rapture. First, a deep inhale and anxious exhale from her twin grazing nearby. When Garnet raises her head, Agate follows. She ponders what could be causing the taller mare worry,
when a loud neigh clarifies. Agate lets out a soft sigh, both of exhaustion and fear. She glances to Flame, meeting the younger mare's gaze. The determination and tinge of something akin to fear in them rubs her the wrong way, leaving her to feel nervous.
With little fight, she clumsily follows the immediate commands of her sibling. A calm before the storm moment settles upon the trio, as Agate waits to see what Garnet will do.

Water Lily

Mare | 15hh | Mountain Pleasure| 11 Years |Link| Herd: None |Heat: 2| Feeling: Happy|Tag/s: Soldier

_____________

"Ah, they sound amusing! Before the humans left, I raised many foals. Many of them were taken from me when they were still young, so I never got to see them grow up. I did get to see one reach an adult age though, and she was amazing. Intelligent, beautiful. My daughter lead her herd with warmth and care," Lily sighs in a happy way, wistfully remembering the feeling of raising foals of her own. She drops her head for a moment, building up courage. "Soldier, you seem like a wonderful stallion. If you'll have me, could I help you restart your herd here in this valley?"

Wildfire

Colt | 16 hh | Warmblood x Mustang|1.9 Years |Link| Herd: Bachelor |Coverings: 0| Feeling: Disoriented|Tag/s: Zeus, Skiron | Injured: Mildly sprained fetlock; will be healed by early summer

_____________

A nicker graces Wildfire's ears, prompting him to swing his head around. His eyes lock in on two colts. Nervously, the chestnut prances. He eyes his surroundings, hoping to find a path to freedom in the instance that he finds himself challenged. His heart beats strongly, a rapid pace that feels like it could jump free at any moment. Finally noting that he has some chances of an escape attempt, he eyes down the new horses. The colts are young, likely his age. Same heights, same builds; Wildfire has no advantages. He's still skinny from a winter of little nourishment, and a smarting pain in one of his front hooves reminds him that he will be slower. With a quick look to the sky, a moment of mental preparation and message of hope, Wildfire greets the bachelors. "Oh, hello," He knickers his response to the full-coated colt. One last time, he pleads with luck to be one his side, and to allow him to find these horses friendly.

Asteria

Mare | 13.2hh | Chincoteague Pony | 8 Years |Link| Herd: Searching |Heat: 2| Feeling: Lonely|Tag/s: Daydream, Annie

_____________

A grin spits the dark mare's mouth, showing her true expression. Her brown-eyed gaze lands on the stallion she had scented, and what she finds surprises her. Standing with her quarry is another pony! She belts out an excited whinny, her steps speeding up further to meet the pair. Asteria soaks in the sight of the small herd, looking both ponies up and down. The stallion,
small as he was, was handsome and had kind eyes. Visions of tiny bundles of joy bounce thorough her eyes, making her smile wider.
The mare was close to her height, and beautiful. She seemed intelligent and friendly enough, although time would prove would be needed to prove this assumption right or wrong. Asteria could easily see herself aging with this mare, welcoming her in as a close friend and confidant. Their foals would grow together,
possibly even leave together one day. Finally, the mare's short legs bring her to them. She stops before them, and with greets them with a lyrical voice, "Hello!"

hera
• mare • 15 years • akhal-teke • herd mare •
• pregnant (3 1/2 seasons) • foals; none • delgado • tags; herd

hera stared mindlessly at the dark soil that her hoove was digging at, the grass that used to be there now gone. Her eyes were cloudly and blank as she continued with her absent-minded digging, though it all came to a halt as the soft nicker of her stallion hit her ears. Her ears shot upwards from where they were pinned against her head, and her head soon following the suit. Hera looked a bit surprised as he nickered to him, but also felt slightly happy. Perhaps she could talk to him? She knew she had being a bad companion to him, as she was distant and unhappy.
However, the time didn't seem to happen, as he suddenly moved the herd in the direction of a herd in the distance. The stallion was rather young, and there was multiple mares around him. Perhaps another friend or two? Surely Delgado will want another mare or so to continue his legacy. She thought, moving a bit closer to Ameena and the rest of the herd. She didn't want to risk being snatched by the other stallions.

aria + nepenthe
• mare • twelve • arabian // arab x paint • lead mare // filly •
• heat; 1 // too young • foals; nepenthe • stallion; nero • tags; herd

aria watched as the stallion grimaced, wincing at her sharp words. And though he seemed mildly hurt by them, he understood quite plainly that he stood little to no chance against older, more experienced stallions. She gave him an approving nod, then trailed out on the outside of the herd with Nepenthe in tow, helping him lead the way with quick nips of the rear to any who slowed. Aria wondered if there was a lead mare in the herd, but at the moment it didn't seem that way.
As they slowed down, Aria moved off from the herd, still in clear view, just not as close to the large clump of mares. She felt no need to interact with them, occupied with tending to her filly, who seemed a bit shaken up after the chaos that the stallions had caused. She could tell Nepenthe was exhausted, as she leaned against her leg for awhile before finally noticing her belly, nosing Aria get to her milk, then taking it hungrily.

merci + lucida
• mare // colt • 12 years • marwari // marwari x ahkal • herd mare // herd colt •
• heat 0 • foals; lucida • stallion; anubis • tags; anubis, lucida, herd

The sabino mare couldn't be more delighted at the ecstatic reaction her stallion gave her, in clear delight that his mare had birthed a colt. She understood the happiness, fillies did stay longer, though it was a colt that could continue his lineage and even potentially add more protection at his yearling age (if he didn't already become attracted to the lasses, of course). Merci beamed as he complimented her, pressing his head against hers for a brief moment. She let out a joyful nicker, watching as her colt.. their colt, watched them curiously with his stunning blue eyes.
He looked up at his father with awe, letting out a giddy nicker as he suddenly directed his attention to him, lips rubbing gently across his forelock and mane. He seemed huge to Lucida as he watched him, even though the colt was relatively tall already. This was his father? He sure did look impressive.
Merci met the piercing, sharp gaze of Anubis with a smile, glad to see him so excited.
She opened her maw to reply, though paused as she noticed a absolutely stunning mare waltz forwards. Merci turned her head back to Requiem for a moment, giving herself a mental note to introduce this mare to her and Requiem when she got introduced into the herd. She'd fit quite nicely in their little group on looks alone. Hopefully her personality was as nice as her exterior.
Returning her gaze back to her colt and Anubis, she once again smiled softly and parted her jaws to respond to the question. "His name is Lucida. It means the brightest star in a constellation." She explained, looking down fondly at her blue eyed boy. She knew he'd be a star when he was old, certainly a catch with the ladies with his handsome features.
Lucida stared back up at his mother, and then his father, letting out a little nicker as he looked into their warm expressions.

neptune
• mare • 13 years • Thoroughbred • Lead Mare •
• giving birth • foals; none • stallion; jericho • tags; open

neptune let out a thankful nicker as jericho approached, glad to see him back. She wasn't sure how much longer she would've been standing, as she knew her foal was ready to make their entrance. Giving him a gentle nudge on the neck, she passed the draft mix at a brisk trot (the fastest she could comfortably and safely go so far into her pregnancy), moving into the thick shrubbery that lay behind him.
The brindled mare let out a heaving sigh, lowering her neck in exhaustion as her foal continued to get and move about. She knew that it was a waiting game now, and it was also incredibly dangerous. She could get swept up by any stranger stallion, and then be gone without even a single goodbye to her handsome draft mix.

adelaide + courante
• mare • 12 years • hanoverian • herd mare •
• heat; 0 • foals; courante • stallion; alfie • tags; Alfie, Arizona, herd

eager to return to the herd, Adelaide gentle nudged her filly forwards, watching with a smile as she willingly moved forwards, picking up her feet in an admirably dainty way. Adelaide looked at her filly fondly, and then saw the beautiful figures of the herd nearing her and courante.
She noticed the black and white filly took a few hesitant step backwards, looking at her mother for conformation that everything was alright. Adelaide nodded, and then watched as Courante zipped forwards, bounding towards in a giddy nature towards Alfie and the mares he was speaking too.
"Courante!" Adelaide called, picking herself up to quicken the pace, shaking her head with a small smile as she neared the group that Courante had neared. She nickered softly to Alfie, smiling softly as she waited for his response to their new foal.

serein
• female • 7 years • paint mix • lone mare •
• heat; 3 • foals; none • stallion; open • tags; dajarin & his herd, zenyatta

the paint mix shuffled aimlessly through the thick foliage, neck drooping down in a small sign of exhaustion. She didn't like being alone, it was scary and she needed to constantly be looking out for herself. She rarely slept, and sometimes wouldn't eat her fill grazing. However, she also didn't like the company of other horses unless she was close to them. But, she was worn down at this time and would honestly just be happy tagging along with a herd and just pretending she didn't exist for the most part.
As she half-heartedly trudged on, a scent wafted into her nostrils, and following that the shapes of a trio of horses. She froze, though they seemed to still be walking forwards a few slow paces. Serein urged her legs to move her around, for her to bolt and run away, but she was frozen on the spot. As scared as she was, deep down inside her a voice was urging her to stay, for her to introduce herself. She was a horse, after all, and no horse truly enjoyed being alone, they longed for company. Serein let out a weak nicker, ears flicking back and forth anxiously.
Serein stopped as another mare came sauntering in, taking no notice of her and rather trotting about all high and mighty. Serein took a nervous step back, watching as she introduced herself as Zenyatta.

quinlann
• stallion • 15 years • Oldenburg x Thoro • Lead Stallion •
• mares; miss • foals; none • coverings; 0 • tags; herd, Renoir

Quinlann let a charming, lop-sided grin pull against his handsome maw as he listened to her introduce herself. She had a distinctive accent to her, one that he placed quickly as a british accent. He wondered how she got it. He was a bit surprised when she went over to give him a kiss-like lipping, though was delighted all the same. She was certainly flirtatious, and he let out a nicker as she swatted him with her tail. He inhaled her rich, tantalizing heat scent and let out another short nicker. The silver buckskin began to groom her spine, occasionally giving her hindquarters a flirtatious bump with his muzzle.
— fade —

dante
• stallion • 15 years • Thoroughbred • Lead Stallion •
• mares; Jolene, Pandora, Rizzo • foals; none • coverings; 2 • tags; herd, blade

Dante inhaled her tantalizing heat scent, eyelids shutting over his dazzling steely-blue orbs for brief moment, enjoying his time with the beautiful young lady. He knew he'd ought to be covering her, so let his muzzle brush against her tailbase, giving her a light, teasing nip to the side of her rump in a quick ask of permission.
—fade—
Dante quickly slid off of her back, moving away quickly in case she decided to strike out and kick him. He hoped she wasn't angery, and moved up beside her to check to see if she was alright. "You already, Blade?" He asked, checking up on his new mare before nickering to the herd, inviting them a bit closer to the new mare.

XXXXXOdin
XXXXstallion ● 18 ● friesian ● mares; 2 ● no foals ● no coverings ● tags;; herd, mellifluous
Indentation “Mellifluous.” He tasted her name on his tongue, enjoying the fluidity of it. “What a regal name for a gorgeous lady.” He nickered, shaking out his long black mane and scanning over her body with his chocolate eyes. As she asked of his name, a smirk graced his lips and he inhaled her scent, wringing his tail as he did so. “Odin, is what I adhere to.”

XXXXXHaskell
XXXXstallion ● 14 ● westphalian ● mares; 2 ● no foals ● 1 covering ● tags;; herd, Xantara
Indentation He was soon to realize that whatever was on her mind, she had no interest in speaking of it. Whatever was troubling her, he understood that they all had their limits. As she seemed comfortable around him, he stepped forwards and moved his white pearls across her mane, gently tugging through the stiff knots and working against her shimmering coat, hoping to make her relax more in his precense. “Just know that you are safe here, my love. I am Haskell.” He introduced himself, ears swiveling atop his head, one training in on his two mares a few yards away from them, and the other listening to their surroundings. No matter how relaxed he seemed, he was always prepared to battle off an opponent, or protect his mares from a predator, even this new mare whom he was not yet familiar with. Thankfully, Haskell was patient with others, which is one thing that made him a fantastic lead stallion and father. He was thrilled to be having his first foal dropped by Cassy in the beginning of Autumn.

XXXXXAsmund
XXXXstallion ● 10 ● american paint ● mares; 1 ● no foals ● no coverings ● tags;; opal, garnet, agate, flame
IndentationFlaring his nostrils and carefully reassessing the situation, he nickered to them gently once more, wringing his tail from side to side as he moved himself closer, head and neck level with his withers as he approached. Stopping once he was about five feet away from the trio, he stretched out his nose in greeting. "My name is Asmund." He said, flicking his ears. He could already tell that the taller mare was going to be a problem, not that he minded. She'd be easily dealt with if she proved to be too much of a problem.

XXXXXCheyenne
XXXXmare ● 8 ● american paint ● stallion; kashikoi (lead) ● no foals ● heat;; covered ● tags;; herd
Indentation Settling once her subordinate mare was found, she surveyed the area around them before lowering her head and gripping the grass between her teeth with dissatisfaction. What was there to do besides watch over her herd, think about her future foals, and question what the meaning of her life was? Licking her rubbery lips, Cheyenne sighed softly and dragged her toes against the soft dirt, walking in an unfamiliar pattern around Kashikoi and Witch, bored out of her brain.

XXXXXAmbrosia
XXXXmare ● 12 ● appendix qh ● stallion; thowra (lead) ● no foals ● heat;; 3 ● tags;; herd
Indentation The sooty buckskin mare halted in her tracks at the order of Thowra. At first, she thought it was signs of a predator. That he was assessing the situation before letting his lead make the next move. Arching her head, she flared her nares, taking in the scents around her, peaked curiosity with tense ripples across her flank at any sign of danger. She was a little dumbfounded to realize that Thowra had ceased movement of his herd due to noticing a hoofprint in the soft soil. She rolled her onyx brown eyes, wondering what he was so curious of. Yes, horses passed through here. It was no big deal, but apparently it was for him.

XXXXXIona
XXXXmare ● 5 ● american paint ● stallion; jimber (sub) ● no foals ● heat;; ?? ● tags;; herd
Indentation [i] She gladly followed Evita to an open meadow with Jimber, River attached to her hip like velcro. The young paint mare shook out her bicolored mane and looked about with her crystalline blue eyes. The senior mare had a keen eye for safe areas and welcoming surroundings. Iona's head swung to the side as she located a mare moving towards the herd. Another friend would be appreciated, she thought to herself. As her palomino stallion approached who she would soon know as Seolta, she moved towards her lead and softly began grooming her mane.

XXXXXRenoir
XXXXmare ● 15 ● sport paint ● stallion; Quinlann ● no foals ● heat;; covered ● tags;; herd
Indentation She knocked her hips against his shoulder as he groomed down her spine, a soft shiver coursing through her lithe body as he did so. As his muzzle bumped against her quarters a few times, she swung her hips slightly, but soon wrung her tail to the side. -fade- Renoir unlocked her knees and pawed at the ground underneath her, taking a swift chomp of the forage before raising her chiseled head and turning her attention to Miss. Nickering kindly to the other mare, she made no attempts to move from her newfound stallion's side, brushing her flank against his.

XXXXXAstrid

Indentation text text text text text text

XXXXXEydis
XXXXmare ● 16 ● mustang ● stallion; n/a ● no foals ● heat;; 1 ● tags;; riff's herd
Indentation The light grey roan mare stood in the trees near the handsome stallion's herd. He was certainly a sight for sore eyes, and she was already pleased with how he set himself up as he spoke to the other mare in front of him. She knew it was not yet her time to approach, though it was obvious that he had noticed her. Eydis decided to slowly move herself down the slight declivity, stopping with quite a respectful distance between herself and the herd. Until he was ready, her chocolate eyes scanned the herd around him as she lowered her head to graze, passing time.

XXXXXEuclid
XXXXmare ● 13 ● appaloosa sport ● stallion; n/a ● no foals ● heat;; 1 ● tags;; Levi
Indentation Her lips brushing against the surface of the water, she stood in the clear aqua, head lowered in a relaxed position. Flies swarmed her mottled flank, her tail swishing against her quarters as her long forelock fell over her icy blue eyes. Her head tilted to the side slightly as the water was disturbed, sloshing up to the chestnuts resting on her legs. There was somebody near her, she knew that for sure. Craning her head daintily to the left, observing the area behind her, she was quick to notice the large, handsome stallion drinking his fill at the shoreline. She was maybe a hand smaller than him, but it wasn't that much of a big deal as she turned her body 90 degrees to get a better look at him. Pleased with the sight before her, a soft whinny escaped Euclid's lips, tail swishing, strands resting on the surface of the water behind her legs.

stallion fifteen years coverings (this year): 0 progeny: none band stallion tags: herd, neros herd, daee, sorelli
mares ameena + foal, hera, sila

delgado
pulled at the grass around his feet, only looking up when his lead mare came wondering over to him, she was right, they had not spoken much through winter, they had lost eluah, jordon and zeena through winter had been reasonably difficult, ears flicking calmly, the stallion went to speak but was distracted by apollo, he watched the young colt and pinned an ear at him in warning before looking back to ameena, pressing his nose against her own, "well i've certainly had better winters" he said calmly, referring to how many mares he'd managed to lose in three months, in the time of him protecting mares, he'd only ever lost two, and they had both been previously sick or injured, and while he stayed with them, nearly losing the rest of his herd a few times, they still passed, but three mares in three months? it was understandable that he felt horribly guilty. ears pinned back at the thought he looked away and shook his mane loose, watching apollo curiously before glancing back to ameena, "he's grown into a fine young colt.. but i must let you know, i can't let him stay much longer.." he said calmly, not wanting to upset her, however, it was known that colts who lived in a herd to a stallion who was not their sire, were often removed once they turned one because the could join a bachelor band at that age, apollo would be no different, and he was showing too much interest in sila for his liking. he looked at the mare calmly hoping he'd not aggravated her by telling her her son had to go, he'd had two mares in the past pull a chunk from him when he'd said that, so he expected no less from ameena, it was one thing when the foal left as a three year old, but as a yearling they didn't know as much, but delgado wasn't taking any chances.

his ears pulled together away from ameena, looking over hera calmly he nickered sweetly to her, sympathetic to her loss of her friend, he had here and there offered affection, but she had been closed off with fair enough reasons, but it did mean he hadn't gotten to know his mare well, which meant she didn't trust him. with a huff he looked back to ameena, only to be distracted again when movement from his left eye flickered, his protective instincts kicking in, the stallion wasted no time in gathering his little group together and watching as a younger stallion tried to grab a group of mares, his eyes fell on one mare in particular and her filly (daee and sorelli) ears flicking he decided to take advantage of the stallions age, while he would not touch the males mares that were clearly his, the rest, well they were fair game that he could take with ease. the older stallion, wasted no time in moving his little group into the darkness to avoid the younger males sight, before trotting over, ears pricked forwards, he upped his stance,
making himself look bigger than he needed, which was not needed as he was already massive. he took note of a stallion much closer to his age on his way down, and quickly looked at the the bay sabino and her filly. ears flicked back as the younger stallion also went for the pair, the stallion charged straight for the three horses and took no chances, a quick nip to the mare and her youngster, and a swift kick in the stallions direction to seperate the three horses. these two were his, he made that clear with the kick he sent in the males direction. he had picked them when he saw them just moments ago. with a flick of his tail he tried to do so as delicately as possible, but with a stallion of his age near by, he wasn't risking this mare, or his others, especially ameena, who was carrying his foal. a quick flick of his tail in warning to the young male but also the other, while he quickly started to push the mare up the hill in the direction of his little group., hoping she would not fight back too much.

arin
stopped momentarily when something caught his eye, and he watched as a finely built thoroughbred mare strode confidently towards him. he pricked his ears with interest, before a raised brow was lifted as she spoke with pride and.. hmm, perhaps a touch of snobbishness? didn't bother him too much, but it seemed to bother cacy, he flicked an ear to his mare then back to zenyatta, very clear she had placed herself into his herd as others had done in the past. he barleyg ot a word in before the two mares seemed to have a little silent, motionless battle. he rolled his eyes at the pair and looked at the colt for a few seconds, then back to zenyatta, pricking his ears again before pinning them at the mares tone towards cacy, "grow up... both of you" he muttered, but while he said it there was no aggression in it, it was simply a case of he wasn't about to stand in the middle of what the two desired to do, he wanted to keep moving.. and as zenyatta said,
find more mares. he flicked his tail towards the mare and spoke softer this time, like he'd done with cacy months ago. "dajarin.. but arin is simple enough" he said calmly and pushed his dark maw against hers, nibbling softly to take her scent in fully as he'd done when he first met cacy. ears flicking he nudged zenyatta forwards, and flicked an ear at cacy for her to continue as well, hoping the two would not argue too much until he had some other mares to distract himself with while the two argued.

he was surprised to find it quite easy to find a mare, there she stood a chestnut thoroughbred x mix. as he grew closer it was clear she was anglo arabian, with a mix of something else on top of the thoroughbred and arabian. he flicked an ear to zenyatta and cacy and rolled his eyes, letting the two complete whatever it was they wanted to sort out. the dark stallion whinnied out to the chestnut mare hoping to catch her attention, not foolish enough to travel too far from his duo of mares in the midst of spring.

was surprised that myth had come with ally, and had barley noticed it until he turned around.
unsure what to do with the youngster he looked at ally for a second, knowing fable wouldn't want another one of her daughters with him. he frowned calmly, and flicked his head slightly, he looked at fable for a few seconds, she seemed to be given a choice,
and he wasn't really sure, he'd see her a fool if she still went with jericho as he actually gave her the choice. with a toss of his head he turned and looked at the youngster then at ally, then at dynasty for a bit of direction to a safe spot for ally to foal, he gently began to move his two mares, leaving myth to chose to follow or stay with her dam, a soft nicker escaping his rubbery lips for fable, unsure if she'd come in and swoop myth away or if she'd follow, as long as she left ally be, he'd be fine. a soft toss of his nose and he gently nuzzled where he'd nipped ally, gently running his rubbery lips in hopes to massage away any pain as his mother had done with him after he'd been nipped too hard -after being a brat of course- knowing it had soothed him, made him hope it would also soothe her. ears flicking he knew well while they'd gone out of sight of jericho, seeing as he was walking off as well, they'd still easily be caught up with by fable and myth should they follow. he waited calmly for dynasty to take full lead into a safe calm area for ally.

with a flick of her tail, the mare looked up to see the newest member, eyeing her curiously she lashed her tail and pinned her ears momentarily, hoping it would be enough for the mare to leave her alone and accept who was lead, she was practically a baby any way. the pinto mare looked up to see rizzo and pinned her ears at first, not entirely sure, and when she began to groom pandora,
the mare pinned her ears further and nearly sidestepped, in case it was a way to suddenly attack her while she was in such a position. but seeing rizzo hadn't changed her body language, pandora in turn, dropped her stance, thankfull for the the sudden kindness, she'd been able to groom dante once or twice, but often turned him away through winter, too busy grieving, so her social attention was very low. she ran her teeth gently over the mares body pulling out loose hair and scratching parts of the mare that she couldn't reach herself, more parts that neither could reach now they had a wide load and simply couldn't stretch that far anymore without hurting themselves.

“I just hope Anubis loves the foal wether it’s a filly or a colt.” Breeze nickered. “I could help look after Hathor if you’d like.” She added. She looked over at Anubis before looking back at Cupid. “I mean I could help make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble until I have my foal.” Her ears flicked towards Anubis, hearing him talk. She then took a bite of the fresh green grass.

Wash Stallion American Warmblood 12 Years Tags: Dove/Chip/Gavroche/Flannery
Mares: Poet, Dove, Flannery, Paris, Ang Foals Sired: 4

Watching Chip with a small smile, delighted that his son's emaciation wasn't hindering him in any way, Wash pricked his ears as his son raised himself into a steady, balanced rear, pushing himself into an impressive stance. Pride swelled in his chest - his son would make a fantastic band stallion some day. Laughing heartily, he mirrored the colt's movements, pushing his weight onto his hind legs and propelling his weight upwards, lashing out with his forelegs with a playful whinny. Landing, once again mirroring Chip's tense waiting, eyes moving from Chip to Gavroche, waiting for someone to move, a nudge to his neck caught him off-guard, causing him to whirl away with a squeal. Spinning a small circle, turning to face the front again, his ears, pricked again, followed Dove as she powered away, towards Chip and Gavroche. Crow-hopping forward, the stallion picked up a bouncy canter, moving after Dove with a snort. Looking to Flannery as Dove did, tossing his head as another invitation, he reached the dappled pinto mare bumping her shoulder gently with his own before pushing himself into a gallop, challenging her to race.

Stallion Lusitano 8 Years Tags: Herd/Torigon/Eydis
Mares: Ohanzee/Pepper/Isabella Foals Sired: 5 Injured - 2 Broken Ribs [Healed: Mid-Spring]

Flicking an ear back to his squabbling son and daughter, grimacing lightly, Riff turned away from Pepper's twins. Sure, he may have given up on Alkun rather quickly, but he didn't want to hurt him, and, more importantly, he had an uncovered mare in the middle of Spring. He wanted desperately to glance back to Menhit, to see what she was deciding to do, but that might make it more difficult for her to leave, if that was what she wanted. Not wanting to barge into the chatting mares and sweep Isabella away, the stallion lowered his head to the grass, huffing at the green blades below his muzzle but not actually grazing.
Sudden hoofbeats hit his ears, and Riff snapped his head up, ears perked. Not too far away stood a somewhat hesitant gray mare, neck outstretched in an attempt to catch his scent from afar. Chuckling lightly, he nickered softly to her, taking a couple of strides forward. He extended his own pale nose in greeting, huffing out a soft breath as a hello. Stopping at a respectable distance, not wanting to push her away, the pale stallion held himself properly, nose tucked into chest in an almost subconscious show-offy stance. "Greetings, Miss." He called softly, a small smile playing on his lips. "What's a beautiful mare like you doing out here on your own?" As he regarded her, a movement in the distance caught his eye, and he looked over the gray newcomer to spot a gray roan mare in the near distance. Looking back to the mare in front of him, he smiled. He could seek the company of the roan in a little while.

Mare Kathiawari 13 Years Tags: Pandora
Stallion: Dante Pregnant (3 Seasons)

She had been following the herd quietly for the last number of seasons, not wanting to cause trouble now that she knew that she was pregnant. Rizzo's heart was still heavy with the loss of her last son, so she didn't want to cause any trouble and risk any kicks from either Pandora or Jolene. As they moved throughout the winter, there came one day where the air was filled with heartbroken, desperate whinnies, the day where Pandora lost her own son. She had remained relatively alone in her grieving period, but months had passed since then. Their lead had picked a small, quaint little area as their current shelter, somewhere that they could safely foal, if they remained here until summer. Pushing herself forward, an easy four-beat walk closing the distance between herself and the other mare, she lowered her head, ears flicked back in a sure sign of submission, then bumped the mare's shoulder. She and Jolene had been rather harsh with the mare before, and Pandora had easily pushed back, so they weren't the best of friends. Rizzo's muscles remained tight as she began to tug the last of the mare's winter coat out, offering the grooming session as a long-awaited sign of peace between the two.

Mare Paint 5 Years Tags: Herd/Open
Stallion: Cerberus Pregnant (4 Seasons - Dropping Soon)

Moving had become rather... clumsy for poor Inez as she neared her dropping time. With Cerberus' sheer size, his foal made her almost comically round, like a caricature of a horse. Her legs were posted, as straight as they could be, in an effort to keep herself upright, but the majority of her day was spent in the one spot, either eating or dozing in the watery spring sun. At this moment, she was laying upright in the dew-covered grass, front legs tucked beneath her, large belly causing her to tip sideways a little. Every so often, the pale mare would lower her head, pulling up a mouthful of grass, then chewing thoughtfully. Her foal would be here soon, but until then she had to lug around this extra weight. She couldn't help but wonder all those things that a young dam wonders - will it be a colt or filly? Whose colour would they inherit? Personality-wise would they be more like her or their father -
A deep voice from a little ways away caught her attention, and the young mare swung her head to the side, looking to her stallion. Her ears flicked to the side at his answer to the younger mare - she knew he would be harsh, but she wasn't expecting that. Hauling herself to her feet with a rolling groan, by the time she had stood, she noticed that Sarafina had moved away from the stallion almost sheepishly. Offering a soft nicker to the stallion, she moved - waddled - over to him, bumping his shoulder with her muzzle before beginning to groom him. She didn't realize the effect that she had on him, and only wanted to offer him some gentleness.

AND
Mare/Filly Arabian x/Sport Horse 7 Years/Three Seasons Tags: Delgado/Delgado's Herd/Apollo
Stallion: Delgado Pregnant (Three Seasons)

Oh boy, another stallion. With a squeal and a half-hearted kick, Daae was separated from the dapple gray stallion, nipped and pushed by another force that she couldn't see. Calling for that blasted filly, her daughter having separated from her, she caught sight of the dark head of the stallion pursuing her. The sight that met her gaze almost caused her to slam on the brakes. That face... He held many of the same features as Sorelli's late father. Pinning her ears as she caught sight of the rest of the almost jet-black stallion, she nipped at her daughter as the awkward almost-yearling appeared too-close. Sorelli skittered away from her mother, the stallion's teeth keeping her in-line, the little filly's maw ached with the amount of force that she was clacking her teeth together, begging both her mother and the stallion not to hurt her - she was still a baby, after all! The dark stallion was pushing them toward a band of others, up a steep hill. Sorelli's youth and almost expendable energy propelled her forward easily, but her pregnant mother struggled more, pinning her ears before lowering her head in submission to the stallion, telling him that she was trying to listen to him, but she was bloody tired. Sorelli had moved forward, passing her mother, but had spotted something that pushed her on. Another foal! They seemed to be a little older than she, but they might be able to tell her what in the heavens was going on. A high whinny split her lips as she barrelled towards what she now saw as a colt. She had never met a male before today - and boy, what an experience it had been - and so she slammed on the brakes, scrambling against her own momentum to stop and move back to her mother, who had just crested the hill, sweating and panting in an attempt to keep ahead of the stallion.

Mare Shire 10 Years Tags: Odin and Hekili
Stallion: Odin Heat Stage: 2

Winter had come and gone quickly, a fact that Elphaba was delighted of. Sure, her thick winter coat was a great protector from the cold, but her extremeties still burned in the freezing air. Now that spring was here, the mare was grazing happily, scented tail flicking on occasion to remove flies from her pelt. Her muscles jumped lightly when the stallion began to groom her pelt - having not heard him approach - but she offered him a soft, happy nicker, lowering her head once more. He was kind and gentle - making her feel sheepish for doubting him in the first meeting. Shaking out her mane when he whirled away, she continued to graze, happy as she could remember.

Mare Akhal-Teke 14 Years Tags: Anubis/Merci
Stallion: Anubis Pregnant (2 Seasons)

Raising her head as the Marwari mare tilted her head to look at her better, Requiem's attention was dragged backwards, to her own body. A look of almost comical shock crossed the mare's face as she realized what she was feeling. Her stomach fluttered with a bewildering movement, something the mare had never felt before, having never mothered a foal before. It had been playing on her mind since that morning, but it was only now, as it intensified for a moment, that she realized what the feeling was. Anubis' covering had taken - she would be having a foal. The thought hadn't crossed her mind since fall, when she had joined the herd. But now, her gaze moving over Merci's shoulder to where the stallion stood interacting with a new mother, that thought was a reality. There was very little excitement that passed through her - in fact, it was mostly a selfish fear. Having a foal was potentially dangerous for a mother. Shaking her nose lightly, tuning back into the world, Merci's question registered in her mind. "Hmm? Oh, where I'm from! Sorry, darling, my mind slipped away for a second. I grew up in a place the humans called Abu Dhabi. The winters were hot and the summers unbearable. That's what I loved about it, though. I was kept in an air-conditioned stable, owned by a man of the highest power. Those were the days." She sighed, looking away into the near distance, a small smile decorating her features. "Not that I don't love it here. The wilds are always exciting, there's always something new." Looking back to Merci, a little glint in her eyes, she added, "And new friends." Chuckling lightly, pale tail flicking at some pests that landed on her pelt, "Of course, was entirely at the wrong time at the wrong place. I came to these shores for a show, but the humans disappeared before they could bring me home again. How selfish." She chuckled softly. "What about you, my darling? Where in the world did you hail from?" Tilting her head lightly, eager to hear where her new friend had lived before these plains, she smiled softly. She rather liked this Marwari mare, and, whether Merci liked it or not, was now considering her to be a close friend.
As she smiled to the other mare, the Marwari made to move away, causing Requiem to watch after her with a horrified expression. This was the dangerous bit. Watching Merci anxiously until the mare was out of sight, Requiem then lowered her head, beginning to graze, tail flicking as she anxiously waited for her friend's reappearance.

Not a moment later, another mare came into view - another pony! Delighted, Annie nudged Daydream's shoulder, urging him forward to speak with the newcomer. But it didn't matter - the mare approached them with delight anyway! Nostrils flared, eyes bright, Annie regarded the pretty flaxen mare, trying not to allow her excitement to push the newcomer away. More ponies! Perhaps they were hardier than the humans had thought! Nickering kindly to the mare, tail flagged and ears pricked forward, Annie lowered her muzzle, greeting the mare before Daydream had the chance to. There was nothing malicious in the movement, of course - she was just so happy! "Hello to you too!" She chimed, before remembering herself and stepping back, allowing Daydream to introduce himself as well.

Lead Mare Appaloosa 12 Years Tags: Jimber, Iona, River
Stallion: Jimber Heat Stage: 3

A light sigh rolling from her muzzle as Jimber approved of her find, Evita found herself relaxing, glad of the affirmation. She bumped Jimber's chest lightly as he nibbled her pelt, tail flagging involuntarily as she hoped that her now strong heat scent would be dealt with. But her hopeful expression turned into one of obvious disappointment as he moved away, beginning to graze, then calling out to a new mare. Flicking her scented tail once in annoyance, her expression brightened as Iona approached, beginning to groom her. She returned the kind gesture, moving her muzzle to the other mare's mane. Turning her head momentarily as she spotted the new mare approaching, she pinned her ears to the Appaloosa mare, showing her that she was the boss around here. Flicking her tail again, she returned her touch to Iona, sighing softly.

the stallion nodded, his nose twitching as he noted her heat. he needed to move fast. there were too many mares with heat around him. "well, jewel. would you like to join us? we'd be happy to have you." he questioned, his ears perking up tall to listen to her answer. he hoped she would accept so she could quickly be covered and he could cover his other mares. while alfie was an older stallion, all of these mares around him in their deep heat was starting to get to him. his tail flicked in slight irritation, flies biting at his back. the wind slowly blew through his crimped mane, a whinnie catching his attention. he turned, his eyes resting on a small black and white foal. his head lowered, meeting the muzzle of the young horse; she smelt of adelaide. his first foal of the season was healthy and he couldn't be more proud. he took in the new member's scent, his heart swelling with happiness. "hello, little one." he said, making sure not to push the interaction too far and make adelaide uncomfortable.

miss' attention directed towards the new mare once more, her ears twitching as renoir called to her. perhaps she was being friendly and didn't wish to fight for lead. or maybe she was just taking her time. her body language still showed nervousness and unknowing towards this new mare. the mother gave a slight look to her son before walking towards her stallion and this new mare. she decided there was no reason to be so afraid. missy was confident in herself and if she had to stand up to this new mare to keep her rank, she would. she gave her a quick nod of the head, but it returned to it's high setting. she was going to stand her ground. missy was very proud of her rank and wasn't going to give it up easy and wanted to make sure this mare knew that. her tail flicked, her heat being flung into the air. her brown eyes didn't move off this paint mare. they were close in age and about the same height so missy knew that if she was going to fight, it wouldn't be easy. she snorted, her nerves beginning to rise.

the mare laughed at riley's comment about name length. "my full name is paint the wind, so your name is not too long. i've even heard of longer." she said, giving a small giggle. whinnie flicked her tail, giving one last look to maria's wound. it looked really good for just sealing itself a few moments ago. her ears twitched, happy with her efforts to save the young mare's life. "well, it's a pleasure to meet you both. and i'm glad i could help. i know what it can be like to lose someone you care about so deeply." she said, pushing back her ears. whinnie had lost her herd mate that she was around almost her entire life just after the humans disappeared because of her old age. she had medications she needed to take, and sadly didn't make it without them. she could only imagine losing a foal was worse that that. "so i assume you two don't have a herd, then?" she questioned, her ears perking up to listen to the answer.

it had been a few weeks since she'd seen another horse after leaving her past herd and she was very lonely. she needed to find another horse. as she walked, she noticed another horse in the distance. finally! she didn't care what this horse was all about, she needed someone to talk to. she called out to this horse desperately, running up to it. she was giddy, her hooves bouncing as she looked over this young horse. it was a young stallion, maybe only three at the most and while she didn't see him as a protector, he was still someone to talk to and make some memories with. she finally calmed, giving him a welcome whinny. "hi," she said, simply awaiting his reaction.

Nagi's movements were small shuffles. She softly blew on the blades of grass before grabbing a mouthful. She was relaxed, but still alert. Being on her own, she had to always keep an eye on her surroundings. Her thick shoulders pulled the rest of her body forward, and her tail gently flicked against her thighs. Deciding to stretch our her muscles, she moved into an easy trot. She only stopped once she noticed a water source, and contently dropped her head to gaze on the brush. She picked up her head as she noticed multiple horses nearby. One ear rotated towards them, she chose to focus more on her grazing.

The scent drive his senses crazy, and without thought his muzzle ran down her spine. The scent grew stronger, and his willpower decreased. He nudged her dock, lipping at it lightly. He pricked an ear towards her, curious of her reaction.
