The pale palomino stood at the edge of a forest, keeping an eye on the various herds scattered around. The arrival of spring was a welcome gift even though he'd lost the only two mares he'd had for some time. The loss of the pretty pale mare, Mizu had been particularly upsetting since he'd spent so much time and effort getting her. No matter now. He'd shake off the loss and start over. It was all he could do. With a whinny to call any lone mares to his side, he pricked his ears, waiting.
Ohanzee
[mare - Riff's herd - hs 0]
[tags/mentions: Herd]
"Don't worry," Ohanzee murmured, lightly touching Riff's shoulder with her muzzle as a gesture of reassurance. "As soon as Pepper can move, I'm moving the herd." She glanced quietly at Gloria, acknowledging her words and moved her gaze back to the foals. With Pepper in no condition to do much of anything, Ohanzee would watch all four foals.
Not a moment too soon, Pepper had woken and rushed immediately to her foals. Ohanzee took a careful glance at her, worried to see the mare in her condition. Birthing the twins had been more difficult than usual but Ohanzee didn't feel near as horrible as Pepper clearly did. Giving the mare a gentle nudge to get her going, Ohanzee led the herd to the river, making sure that her twins stayed close by.
Hataalii + Isadora
[fillies - Riff's herd - hs n/a]
tags/mentions: Herd
As Ohanzee led them over to a mare who'd apparently collapsed, the fillies stared at Pepper a moment, unsure how to react. The older horses had seemed concerned at first, but nothing more was happening so both Hataalii and Isadora turned their attention to the foals approaching. The pair were brother and sister and obviously wanted to impress. There was a moment where the female went to nip her brother, only before she noticed Hataalii and Isadora though. Isadora blinked curiously at them while Hataalii looked them over a moment. "I'm Hataalii and this is my sister Isadora." The little dun glanced at the mare laying behind them and then asked, "Is that your mum? What's wrong with her?" Of course, she chose exactly the wrong time to speak since Ohanzee had heard. Hataalii's remark earned her a warning nip but before she could apologize to Empress and Alkun, Ohanzee started off. With one last glance at the foals, Isadora and Hataalii followed their mum to the river.
Mozart[/centered]

"I'm Mozart," The buckskin replied, studying him carefully. The stallion knew how to flatter mares and was kind, but one worry tugged at her mind. Could he protect her? "Thank you," Mozart replied, "I've been free for a couple years but before that, I lived with my humans." Mozart thought back to her time with them with a slight pang of sorrow.
Merlot
[bachelor - 2 mares / 0 coverings]

Glancing between his two mares, Merlot flicked his tail. The tension between them still hung in the air, but fighting didn't seem imminent. "Thank you Hp. That's very kind." Merlot nosed her affectionately and looked at his lead as she signaled her wishes. With a small nudge to Hp, he feel just behind the mares as the herd moved off. Having Thunder back felt like a dream come true, even if he did have to worry about a possible battle between the mares.
A flash of movement was all he saw before a black appaloosa filly hurtled to a stop just infront of him. Ears flicking forewards in surprise, he gave Thunder a nicker, asking her to stop for a moment. "Ah, it's alright," He said, studying her closely. She was young, perhaps only a yearling? He didn't often see fillies that young without their mothers. Glancing around, he saw a small herd in the distance, perhaps that was this fillies herd? "I'm Merlot and this is Hp and Thunder," He introduced his mares. "I apologize for my bluntness, but aren't you a bit young to be on your own?"
Distracted slightly by his lead leaving, Merlot stared after her a moment, excitement beginning to course through his veins. Sure enough, when she returned, a filly was at his side. Merlot looked quietly at Thunder, waiting for permission to meet his newborn daughter.
(Waiting for Adobe's response, sorry.)
Nimbus
[Mare - lone mare - hs 4
tags/mentions: Riot's herd]
Nimbus rested in a small grove of aspens, eyes half closed. The playful little filly had matured into a lovely black mare. Nimbus still loved to play, something that had irritated her mother before her death. Nimbus had been lucky to remain with Sioux until the mare's death early that winter.
She was alone but if a stallion and his mares showed up, she wouldn't hesitate to join him, seeing as how late she was in her cycle. Her heat driving her on, the black mare broke into a trot until she noticed a herd in the distance. The handsome white stallion caught her eye. Ears pricked, Nimbus made a beeline towards the herd, tail flicking from side to side to make her heat known.
Eulah
[mare - lone mare - hs 3]
[tags/mentions: Alex's herd]
Eulah felt her muscles tense when, just like she'd warned, Elena was given a small cut. Eulah sighed softly. She'd tried to warn the mare. Giving the new mare, Jordan, a curious glance, Eulah instinctively followed Angel as the lead mare took them to a new area. Standing a bit to the side of the herd, Eulah lowered her head to graze. None of them had made much of an impression on her yet although Eulah knew tensions between Hera and Angel might be high so it might be best to avoid them for now anyways.
