Several mishaps in the past have caused him to lose faith in others, and he constantly has doubts about trusting and working together with other dogs. There's nothing he enjoys more than his freedom, being able to explore and find new places and do whatever he chooses to do. Trigger, when in contact with other dogs, has a tendency to stay quiet and usually looks grumpy, but if you approach him good-naturedly he will most likely return the politeness. Because of his desire to make his own choices he can have a snappy temper if you try to tell him what to do, and he doesn't take advice kindly, even if it's good advice. Although Trigger may seem to be an honest and loyal dog because of his quiet and hardworking nature, he's not. He does what he must to survive, which often includes lying and using his wits to get out of dire situations. He doesn't like having to protect others, and will either try to ditch or use those that deem themselves his friends. Sometimes Trigger's instincts get the better of him though- he was born and bred to be a guard dog, after all.
history;; Trigger was sold by his breeder pretty much as soon as possible. He doesn't really remember his parents, or the house where he was born. What he does remember is the family that bought him- a rich young couple who took very good care of him. When he was old enough, Trigger was taught strictly to be a guard dog, protecting the couple's grand property. He had a good home and a good life, but his family's wealth didn't last. Their company went bankrupt, and having to move since they couldn't afford the house anymore, they also left behind their dog. Maybe what they had was love, but it wasn't enough. They really only loved him so they could use him. Devastated, Trigger waited for days before he realized that the people he had worked so hard to protect were never coming back for him. Heartbroken and frustrated, with nothing left in the giant house, Trigger took to the streets. He struggled at first to take care of himself, but eventually met another loner- a pharaoh hound. Together, they worked hard to survive, entrusting each other with their lives. They met others, and slowly a pack began to form. But again, reality struck Trigger when he was cast out by his own best friend. The doberman realized he had been used, again. The hound just wanted somebody to help protect him and rally others, and, growing too power hungry, the hound exiled the only dog who would be able to challenge his leadership. Alone again, Trigger took to wandering. He learned to do exactly what so many others did to him- use them. Some time later, that was when he found the mansion. Not wanting to deal with the drama of a pack, he decided to stay alone, and took up residence on the property.
