````` Anda was not an early riser by any means, but when she did wake she tended to be eager to move about and get things done. There is no benefit to be derived from a leisurely morning, in Anda's personal opinion, just as there is no harm to be incurred from completing tasks in a timely manner, providing that said tasks are completed correctly. Which was why, upon reacquainting herself with the morning sun after another night spent in reverberating darkness, Anda set out to patrol the boundaries of her beloved pack. As the tree pack's only guard—for the time being, at least—Anda knew that she was being heavily relied upon to ensure the security of her Alpha's borders, and the safety of all those inhabiting them. She relished the challenge, but could not ignore the nervousness that fluttered in her stomach at the prospect too.
`````As she padded along the tree line, that so elegantly differentiated tree pack territory from its surroundings, Anda paused to sniff around and refresh the border's markings where doing so was required. It was during one such pause that the female caught the scent of a dog that she did not recognize. Anda froze in place and narrowed her eyes, allowing her gaze to slide once from left to right without moving her head. She was not a heedless dog, but above all else Anda was curious, and with such an incentive dangling in front of her, she could not talk herself out of giving it some pursuit.
`````With a shake of her spotted coat, Anda moved towards the scent, taking care to make her approach as audible and assured as she was capable of making it. Consciously, she stepped over the border that she had just so carefully marked, and soon she came upon a dog of a much more threatening appearance than she, herself boasted, and an overtly perceivable personality to match, it seemed, as well. Anda dipped her head slightly, working to keep her expression neutral, if not slightly amiable. "You're quite brave to come this close to pack territory without an entourage to accompany you." she said, her soft voice a considerable contrast to her hard eyes. Brave, or desperate, she thought, pursing her lips as she considered him more acutely. "Is there anything that I can help you with here?"
`````When Vetur awoke, he did not move for several minutes. His eyes remained closed, and his positioning from the night before unaltered. He breathed deeply, holding himself in place for the span of three full inhales and two full exhales; on the third, Vetur opened his eyes and rose to his feet in one fluid motion. He harbored no faith in meditation—he could not coax himself into believing that it might actually help him—but before the humans perished, when Vetur had lived an easier but more empty life, he had fallen into the habit of deep breathing whenever he needed a reminder that he was alive and in control of his own circumstances. He was no longer troubled by the opinions of his parents or masters, or the results of his latest show, but that was not to say that Vetur was untroubled.
`````Ever since Vetur had learned that his sister was alive and had pledged her allegiance to the tree pack, he had been deeply, but privately, conflicted. His devotion to his pack and his devotion to Anda were two entirely different things, and yet they were pitted against one another in his mind as though the were the same. Vetur was resolved that he would forsake his pack for nothing, but he missed his sister, and with that sentiment involved, he could not seem to shake her from his mind.
`````The dalmatian took yet another deep breath as he padded from the ruined room that had claimed for his den so long ago, but Anda remained firmly in his thoughts, even as he caught sight of Loki nearby. Vetur nodded civilly in his direction, and stepped slightly nearer to him, so that they might converse with less effort and more discretion. "Loki," he greeted mildly, not quite smiling at the other male, but not frowning either. "I'd like to check the borders. Are you available to accompany me?" Vetur knew with certainty that it was possible for a guard to do his work on his own, but with so many other dogs in the area, he felt it would be prudent to seek a companion for his proposed patrol, and he was more than willing to invite Loki along; the shepherd was quiet, which made him more than agreeable company, in Vetur's eyes.

`````Eden was not the type of pup to get annoyed. Sure, he was more than capable of getting a little bit irritated from time to time, but like his mother, he was undeniably passive, and could not be counted on to ever act on his quiet irritation. So, whenever Atlas felt like playing "Alpha-Pup," or any other silly games, Eden would play along as happily as he could, as he was doing now. The pup stood in front of his brother, looking up at him with his own tail wagging wildly behind him. He grinned playfully up at Atlas, before rearing up to rest his front paws on the rock on which his brother sat. "What should I do, Alpha?" he barked up at him enthusiastically. "Should I hunt? Do the borders need to be marked?" In that moment, Eden only had eyes for his eldest brother, and thus lost the conversation that his other two siblings were having with his mother, to his focus on Atlas and his pretended commands.
