Diamond in the Rough | Diva | Mare | 7 years | QH | Herd; Judas | Foals; 0 | Heat stage; 0 | Tag; Judas
Diva nodded and galloped after the stallion, racing toward the new mare. Although older, she would be an easy target to round up. The mare followed suit as they drove the mare one way, then another, nipping at the painted horse's flank as they drove her. Diva held her head low, pinning her ears to show her dominance right from the start, a smirk growing on her face.
Sunset Boulevard | Sunny | Stallion | 15 years | Gypsy Vanner | Mares; Crystal, Princess, Phantom | Coverings; 2 | Tag; herd
Seeing the mare hadn't responded, the stallion simply pushed her in with the other mares before digging up something to eat. He snorted as the snowflakes hit his pelt, feeling annoyed at the cold. He picked up a large mouthful of grass and snow, letting the snow melt in his mouth for a drink. Once he swallowed, the stallion made his way back to Crystal and Princess. (Sorry for the sucky post)
City of Fallen Angels | Lucifer | Stallion | 4 years | Gypsy Vanner | Mares; Genevieve | Coverings; 0 | Tag; Genevieve, Feather
Lucifer, noting the Hanoverian's angry body language, approached cautiously. He stopped about ten feet from the mare, deciding to give her a very wide berth just in case. The last thing he wanted was to make this mare feel trapped by getting too close. He could've sworn he saw a tear fall from the mare's face, but with his distance it could've easily been a trick of the light. He heard his mare approach as well, probably trying to help. The stallion trotted up to Gene, wanting to keep her a safe distance away from the mare, but allowing her to be close enough to still talk to her. Lou then turned his eye back on the Hanoverian mare. Although she was injured, she was still quite beautiful and would make a fine edition to their little group. He nickered again to the mare, keeping his body language calm and non threatening.
Keep on Keepin' on | Kepner | Mare | 4 years | Appaloosa | Herd; Aden | Foals; Cody | Tag; Aden and Aden's herd (Angel, Dahlia, Liannah, Adella, and Denaria), Cody | Heat stage; not in heat
The appaloosa noticed her son approach the other colt, causing her to sigh. He was getting older and more full of himself by the day, a fact that scared her. She didn't like her baby growing into a stallion, but sooner or later she would have to accept it. Kepner kept an ear on the colts while keeping the other ear on the older stallions, ready to step in if she needed to.
Cobalt Blue | Cody | Colt | 11 months | Herd; Aden | Appaloosa | Mares; none yet | Coverings; none | Tag; Herd
Cody smiled as his friend nipped back at him, although it hadn't really hurt it was still a good practice for the colts. They would need to practice being able to fight and snake mares for their future, although that aspect didn't sound all that appealing to Cody. In a few months he'd likely be pushed out of the herd if he showed any interest in Aden's mares. Taking a minute to catch his breath, the colt shook out his mane before trotting up to Prince. His body seemingly frozen, the colt exhaled and started to freak out when he could see his breath. With his first winter having been when he was so young, he didn't really remember how the whole 'snow' thing worked.
Dash of Class | Daesi | Mare | 20 years | Arabian | Herd; Thowra's |
Foals; Diana, Lucy, Merideth, Lexie, Serena | Heat stage; Pregnant (2/4 seasons) | Tag; Herd.
Daesi's head turned as the six year old left them, her heart falling a little. She felt guilty for forgetting the mare, as her brain wasn't what it used to be. She watched as the mare made her way to a very upset golden filly, her heart going out to the both of them. The dappled grey mare dipped her head in response to the stallion's statement before he too moved off from her. She lowered her head and scooped a mouthful of the cold snow into her mouth, before picking her head up to watch the herd. Letting the snow in her mouth slowly melt, the old mare kept an eye on Arya, the mare that had been so kind to her before, making a promise to herself that she would make it up to the younger mare.
Dancing in the Rain | Diana | Mare | 12 years | Arabian | Herd; none | Foals; Zola | Heat stage; pregnant (3/4 seasons) | Tag; Mark and herd
The cherry bay smiled as Ameena nibbled lightly at her chest before turning her attention away. She looked to the sky to watch the snowflakes fall while the lead mare decided where the herd would take shelter. A barn would be good, although it would be weird to be back in a barn after spending so much time out of one. Diana lowered her gaze as the herd began to move off, making sure she stayed nearer to the middle of the herd. The incident with Dakota had made her feel a little uneasy to walk on the outer edge of the herd.
Zodiac Princess | Lucy | Mare | 9 years | Arabian | Herd; Riot's | Foals; 0 | Heat stage; pregnant (3/4 seasons) | Tag; herd
Seeing as the mare behind her didn't respond to her kick, the liver chestnut mare began to make her way through the herd, anger and annoyance fueling her actions. She pinned her ears at each mare, making them move out of her way before she came across a peaceful looking Akhal-Teke mare. Although this mare was quite tall in comparison to Lucy, the mare snorted at her, being annoyed that she got to be peaceful while Lucy was riled up. A mare of her age should know better, as snow had started to fall and she should be conserving her energy, but the mare didn't listen to that logic. All she knew was that she was upset and full of negative energy and didn't know how to get rid of it.
Under Seattle's Lights | Merideth | Mare | 7 years | Arabian | Herd; Basilio's (Juliette, Lily, Ziva) | Foals; 0 | Heat stage; pregnant (2/4 seasons)| Tag; Lily
Merideth nodded her head in response as the gypsy vanner mare spoke. "It's nice to meet you, Lily," Merideth said sweetly. "Why yes, winter is good for conflict resolution. Stallions seem to let the colder months go by quite peacefully, since an injury in these months would probably be fatal..." The mare lowered her head, relaxing in the other mare's presence. She followed the mare's gaze to look at a couple of three month old foals, the gypsy vanner looking foal she assumed belonged to this mare. "She's beautiful. What's her name?" Merideth asked curiously. Perhaps this filly would grow up to be a friend to her own child next year, although there'd be a big age difference.
Long Lost | Lexie | Mare | 6 years | Arabian | Herd; Silence | Foals; 0 | Heat; not in heat | Tag; Silence, Hera
"Wow, a rodeo horse?" Lexie's ears perked at the stallion's remark with interest. "That must've been really cool. I've heard stories from pasturemates about the rodeos although I've never been to one myself." The Arabian shook her mane out, as icicles had formed on the ends of them. It didn't really help the situation, but a momentary break felt nice. Lexie smiled at Hera and the filly with her. "I was a 'pasture puff' as well," the mare responded brightly, happy to meet a fellow 'pasture puffian'. "It wasn't the most exciting, but I didn't perform well enough under saddle for the human's liking. Did they try to do that to you as well, Hera?"
Poetry in Motion | Serena | Filly | 18 ish months | Arabian | Herd; Griffin | Foals; 0 | Heat stage; not in heat | Tag; herd
Selena, happy to have found a herd, trotted as best she could in the deepening snow. The snow blew into her eyes, and the female had to squint to prevent more of the icy snowflakes from getting into them. The herd was probably making their way to find a shelter, and she agreed. It was quite cold, she could the chill all the way to her bones it seemed.
Grand Legend | Zola | Filly | 18ish months | Arabian | Herd; Riff's | Foals; 0 | Heat stage; 0 | Tag; Herd
Zola moved away from the stallion and his filly, giving them some time to bond before making her way towards a patch of grass that hadn't yet been covered up by the snow. She lowered her head to graze, feeling the chill of them as they slid down her throat all the way down to her stomach. The young filly flicked her tail, thankful that the weird feeling she'd had earlier had since passed. The little voice inside her no longer told her to be near Riff, and she was a little thankful for that matter. Not to say she hadn't enjoyed being near him, she just felt a twinge of fear and uneasiness in doing so. That voice had taken over her actions, making her feel like a slave to it. Like she couldn't function properly if she resisted it.
