He laughed at first, then fell silent. If I was deaf I could never hear Aletta's voice again. He thought. Shaking his head, he looked back at Aletta. "What did you say? I wasn't paying attention."

Aletta winced at the Screeches sclience. I hope I didnt offend him She tought with worry. "I said, I wonder what we will do with him." She paused. "If we cant find a place for him, I could take him in. But it would be hard..." Aletta trailed off thinking.
