[Gulpy Gulpy]

Charcoal let out a series of loud, repetitive squawks, startling any other small animals, causing them to scramble away. He tightly folded his wings and tail, as he perched on the old, wooden, mossy fence. He stared intently at the farmhouse, before scanning the perimeter for an easy, effortless meal, as he wasn't in the mood for a time consuming chase. He paused, and tilted his head at the pine tree, which stood tall above the large, fenced- in field. He narrowed his eyes, and investigated the trees, as the slight hint of white in the corner of his eye caught his attention. He spread out his wings, and positioned his tail before taking off toward the tree, clearly driven by curiosity. He landed on the shaky, bed of branches and pine needles. He looked at the nest of small, goldfinch eggs, which rested on the surface of the bed. He wattled over to the nest, and leaned his head in, before pecking at the eggs with his sharp beak.

She smiled as the bird left, she sighed Hope I can see him again some birds out here aren't that nice

Charcoal finished pecking at his newly found meal, when a shrill squeak caught his attention again. A small bit of yellow, slimy liquid dripped out of his mouth from his last meal. He shook his head, and his feathers fluffed up. "That squeak. It seems to be a decent distance away, though it would finish off today's meal. After all, I never mentioned I was full." He heard the noise again, it went from a small squeak, to a series of high pitched squeals. " I hope that mouse isn't already taken. I guess I'll go take a look anyway... That's what all of my friends would do... Right? He spread out his black, shiny wings and tail, and put himself in takeoff position, before darting towards the skies. He stopped flapping his wings, and relaxed. He let the winds, and his senses carry him to his destination.

Scarlet turn her head to look at Vienna. "Yeah, right." She rolled her eyes. "Look at her!" She said, glancing over to the hummingbird. "She's screaming!" Leaving Aletta, she flew over to Angel and pulled a few of her feathers. "You're hurting her!" She screeched.

Screech swooped down, grasping a small field mouse in his talons, then flew up to the top of a tree to enjoy his prey.

Guided by his keen senses, Charcoal glided towards a small nest, hidden in the green tops of a fir tree. On the nest was a large owl, who appeared to be finishing off a small, panicked hummingbird, and next to it, was a stubborn flicker pecking, and pulling at its feathers. He glanced at the situation from above, observing it to see if it was okay for him to land, and ask for a bite. Realizing that the owl was most likely too slow to catch him, he swooped down, landing flat in front of the owl, and the small bird. He folded his wings and tail, then tilted his head. He questioned "Whatcha got there... A hummingbird...?" He continued his speech, seeing if he could get the owl to give him the "food". "Those things are very hard to catch, but they're very tasty. I hope you don't mind if I finish it off for you?" He glanced at the hummingbird, and attempted to keep his cool, rather than steal the owl's "meal".

Vienna hurried to follow the Northern Flicker. "She's only crying out to get your attention," she exclaimed. "Don't be fooled, she's very tricky." The magpie forgot about her food and stood next to Angel now, ready to defend Bacon. Well, defend Bacon from being rescued, anyway. Frustration pricked her like a sharp stone. Her search for answers could not be worth so many fights. But just as soon what appeared to be a crow landed near Angel. "We are NOT eating the hummingbird!" Vienna shrieked, her patience wearing thin. Her typically peaceful demeanor vanished as she glared at the intruders.

A smug grin spread across Charcoals face. He spoke, a hint of laughing in his voice. " You've got to be kidding me, right! You put all of that time, and effort catching a very, difficult to capture meal, and you're not even eating it... What a joke!?" He shook himself off, and tried to play cool again. " Alright, alright... You have your way... If I don't get to eat that prize, I guess I'll snack on that other bird instead. She looks like a god meal too." He glared at the small northern flicker, with his cold, blue eyes. " She seems to be prestering your friend over there."

Scarlet stopped, and looked up at the crow, insulted by his words. "How dare you threaten to eat me!" She yelled in his face. "You are so cruel. Anyway, what makes you think you even could? I can put up quite a fight." She glanced back at Vienna. "I believe you, but I'm staying close to make sure you don't change your mind." Turning back to face Charcoal."And you better watch it, or you might fly back to your nest bald." She snapped at the crow, her sharp beak just inches from his face.

Aletta wachted the situation, wondering what she should do. She took a couple more steps twards the crow, her feathers fluffed up. "You will BOTH leave right now, or goat wont be the only thing I am going to eat!" She took a couple more steps foward her talons scraping on the stone.
