She leaned her head close to Chell, and gripped the clip of her collar in her teeth and pulled it off. She trotted over to a small bush near Chell's den and hung it on a branch. "This will not be easy to hear, but you have to listen and try to accept it. You're a wild fox now."

Their fur made it hard to see them in the snowy area they had run into. She was scared, but she made sure not to show it.

Eve set the collar down at Chell's paws and looked into her head eyes. "Chell, your owners weren't evil. Humans sometimes have problems with pets, and animals. They can't keep them forever. My mother knew a lot about humans. And she told me many things. "They think they know what's best, and probably couldn't keep up with you anymore. Foxes are not a domesticated species." Eve sat back. "And I think, that once you get used to it, you're going to fall in love with the freedom of the wild." She smiled at Chell. "Keep the collar, but I wouldn't wear it. What if you were running from a hunter or something dangerous and the collar got caught on a branch and wouldn't come free? You would get shot. I'm not judging you, just telling you my honest opinion as your friend."
