She scowled in disappointment at being detected, but in the back of her mind, she knew it was inevitable. She slowly stood up and walked towards the black wolf, her ears forward and her tail half-raised. She felt her muscles stiffen as she got nearer to him, although she wasn't looking to fight. This wolf was large, at least a few inches taller than her, and Aspen could clearly sense his overwhelming strength. She stopped, stiff-legged, a few feet away from him and stayed silent. She wasn't sure if she could trust this male quite yet....
