"Okay," Lithe replied padding off with him. She walked along seeing the peaceful trees and hearing the sweet chirps and squeaks of the animals.

I raised my nose in the air, smelling a wolf nearby. It could be a wolf from the nearby pack, I thought to myself. Did the wolf know that I was here? Maybe they were just passing by and have no idea that I'm planning on stealing their food. I jumped as someone came up from behind me. I pinned my ears, letting out a small growl. Did they know that I was here to steal their food? Was it a pack wolf? I took a step back, glancing around, trying to see if I had any escape routes. Nala, if you ever get caught by anyone, stand tall. Even at a small size, adult wolves will be taken back if you show your true strength. Show them that you can and will do whatever it takes to stay alive. My father's words rang in my hand, making me stand taller. I raised my tail up, trying to show that I wasn't about to back down. "My name is Lexa," I lied. One thing that my mother taught me was to never give any wolf your real name.
If one was to get your real name, they could easily track you down. A name is what described a wolf, a name is what shapes who you are. My name nala meant gift, according to my parents I was a gift. If I was to get away from this wolf, they could ask around if they had seen me. And if they knew my name, then they would be able to find me. At least that's what my parents always told me.
