Capri nudged Thomas. "Let's go then, I'm starving." She tried her best to ignore feelings that lingered deep inside, but it was hard seeing as she had never experienced this before.

"Okay," Thomas said. He followed Capri in the direction of the food court.

The smell of food quickly reached her nose, she quickened her pace and began to drool a bit. "We're close."

Yes, yes, yes! Thomas thought. He smelled the food too. They reached the food court and Thomas stopped, mouth wide open. He'd never seen so much food in one place! Well, accept the pet store. But this had more variety. Fortunately, he knew how to read. He listened whenever the big humans taught the small humans to read. He sounded out some of the names: "Burger King, Chipotle, Paradise Bakery, Dairy Queen...?"

"Come on!" She nudged Thomas and ran forward, leaping onto the counter of Burger King. She pushed aside some rubble and finally found a burger, she gobbled it up in a few famished bites.

Thomas sniffed around until he found something coming from his right. Pizza. He ran through the swinging doors into the Pizza Place and snuffed around until he found a piece of pizza, still warm. He gobbled it up, chewing the hamburger bits and pepperoni. He found another and ate that one too. Then something caught his eye. There was a whole box of the triangular slices sitting in the corner! That would be good to bring back to the others. He dragged it out into the center of the court and called over to Capri, "Let's put everything to bring back to the pack right here!"

Reyna hesitated. She didn't completely trust the newcomer yet. And she certainly didn't want to leave everyone else here alone with the new dogs. But Pan was here. And Merle. "Sure," she said, a bit reluctantly as she followed the ferret outside. The sun coming up from behind a faraway hill.

as the ferret pressed on his head, his head jerked up and he faced her, pain showing in his eyes, “ey!” he growled, slowly, but harshly, pushing himself to his paws. the pain had shallower a bit, but was still there. his legs shook beneath his unsteady legs, and he took a step forward. he jumped at every sound around that time, and listened to the lecture from shoshone. he slowly began to walk-limp around, ears clicking.
