He turned red and muttered a vauge excuse about getting gifted a couple today and had just given into haveing one while he waited. He honestly hadn't known there was a no smoking policy on the shelter property so now he wuickly took the last few drags feeling ashamed as he crushed the but into the gravel under his boot.

"Who gave you those? Was it Clayton? He was the only one you were with today?" Lilly asked.
"And you should know not to smoke near a bunch of rescues." She added.

He shook his head lieing to Liky outright now. "Someone from the other shelter, didn't get his name.. Their in and I'm out? .. First offence? Give me something here?" He was getting more defensive but was still acting more hurt and guilty.

[Berenice.]

"Why wou-- Oh, nevermind." Lilly shook her head.
"Just don't smoke here again, buddy." She replied and got in the truck.

Singleton, a 20 year old girl, walked up to her house. Or what she thought was her house. Actually, it was Clayton and Lilly's house. She looked through her pockets to see where she kept her key...it was no where to be found. She was not like every other girl. She was not stupid, although some thought she was. She was an amnesiac and no one understood her. She had forgotten her first name, where she lived, who her family was, and her past.

He got in the truck noding and then hanging his head knowing the stink of the smoke was still on him. What was worse is he alredy badly wanted the other one he still had.

"What is she doing out of state?" She asked unwrapping her hair. And hand drying it "and of course I think you'll do great in it! You have the act for it."

He came out and got into his truck "come on let's go." He said shutting his door and turning on his truck.

"It stinks of smoke in here." Lilly complained, clearly not impressed by the smell at all.

"I can't help it ok!" He punched down hard on the bench seat he was on. Just getting more distressed over the whole thing. He was forcing long deep breaths but it was not helping much

"I can look into it again then, running a small place might not be so bad. Even if I just do the kind of stuff I'm doing for you. .. I kinda like making it most but seeing the stuff I make appreciated and enjoyed feels good too." He hesitated answering anout his mother. She never really told him much about what she did. "She never really tells me. I have long suspected that its shady if not ill illegal but it pays well and she has always come home safe." He flushed at the last part because it was a lie. There were a number of times she had showed up hime beaten and battered looking. Once with a stab wounds. Maybe this would be the time she didn't come back at all? That thought hurt him visably.

"Are you getting stressed?" Lilly teased and grinned. She tried not to laugh, but laughed anyway.
"No, but seriously.. It stinks."
