He tried not to be alarmed when she greeted him so enthusiastically. Once she was down again he tossed her a sausage. Then poured first the water then the kibble into the three bowls he had brought from the house. So Rex and Higgins didn't feel neglected they each got a saysage too before the remaing three were given to Serene. He lay the last of her three atop what was to be her bowl of kibble. Encouraging her to try what he suspected was a entirly new type of food to her.

History:
Sparky has the story of most failed race-horses, although he never actually saw the track. His history starts with his mother, a promising racehorse with great times and great potential. Sparky's mother was often in the headlines and as always the favourite on the track, her name was Fire in the Sun but everyone called her Sunny. Sunny had her best days behind her after she came down and lamed herself, being valuable, she was used for breeding purposes and had given birth to many great winners. But her owner no-longer had use for her and chucked her into the sales, nobody was going to by a lame broodmare who at the time as pregnant with a foal, who would never see a race track because his father was a fail, so Sunny, the mare who as once loved by all as thrown in the deep end and sold to a slaughter house. She was trucked over in a cattle truck full of many other horses, she watched many horses die on the way and as weak once she arrived at the yards, she had no water or food and as shoved into a small yard crammed full of other horses. Later that night, she gave birth to Sparky, he was small and weak like his mother, but Sunny wanted to get her colt to suckle even though she was now thin. As a few days passed, she was becoming weaker and so was Sparky, lucky for her a horse rescue organisation came to the rescue, they took the old mare and her 3 day old colt and put wait back on her.
They were there for a week or so before Sunny passed away from unknown reasons and Sparky was left an orphan at the rescue center. When he was 6 months old he was put up for adoption. The man who adopted him found him too hard to care for as he was a young colt so he sold Sparky, he didn't ask about where the colt was going or about his living arrangements, he only cared for the money. Sparky was taken to his new home and he immediately felt different about the surroundings, the ground was hard and tough, there was no grass and the horses were mud covered and human scared. Sparky as thrown into the paddock and was almost picked on right away. He later found that sticks were scary things that caused pain and sometimes bleeding. He was abused and forced to pull carriages for tourists to ride in, he was made presentable for this task and his scars were carefully hidden. Finally he was rescued and by this time he as frightened of humans and still is.
