The auctioneer awarded lilly with the filly for 1,000$ he handed her a slip of paper to pay for the filly at the desk

"Good job babe." Clayton told her with a smile "first time I have bought a horse from here." He laughed

Lilly took the paper and gave it to Clayton.
"Lets go pay. I need a name for her too." She replied.

"I'm not sure why you gave me the paper to your horse," he chuckled and handed it back they approached the check out.

"Paper please?" The lady asked behind the glass

"Neither do I." Lilly laughed and gave everything the the lady.

Clayton
He paid for the horse 1,000$ out of pocket

"Here you go, coiggins and blood lines." She handed lilly thee papers "she's in pen 10"

[Berenice.]

Lilly took the papers.
"Lead the way Clayton." she said.l and smiled.

"Umm okay come on. 1...2....3..." He counted "10, there she is. " the tall filly laid in the sun in a pink halter "I'm going to get the trailer backed up. " He said walking away

[Berenice.]

"Okay." Lilly said to Clayton, then watched the filly.

"Just hope he usn't mad about it." He still expected people to be angry at him even when he accomplished something. "Sorry I had to get involved Hope, you did a good job.. as did you Clarissa. I couldn't have done it without you. I really mean that." He washed his hands and arms repeatedly in the sinks still feeling unclean.

Hope
Her kittens cleaned and nursing she let no one else near accept Faith. She knew she could trust Faith with her babies. The three seemed to have similar markings but one was far lighter in colour than the others. She nuzzled the first born more often than the others because she knew it had been too still at first and was afraid that might happen again. Faith seemed to be standing guard over them and it made her feel safer in this strange place.

"Why would Clayton be mad at you? You didn't do anything wrong, every kitten survived, and the whole process is over!" Clarissa logically explained. "Personally, I don't think I did anything. You did it all. You're more of a vet than I could ever be!" She leaned on the side of the counter and watched the cats in the other room. They seemed perfectly healthy to her. She made a mental note to try to get Lilly to give Owen a paying job. He was really a dog and cat whisperer.

Higgins walked as far as he could go then turned around and walked back the other way. Restless as he always was, he wondered when Owen would get back. It seemed like forever since he last saw his best friend. And why was he stuck here? Was he returned? Starting to panic, Higgins lunged forward toward the door and barked loudly to try to get someone's attention.

"Because I'm not a vet and I could never do the training to be more than a black market .. I wouldn't even want to do that." He looked in the direction Higgins had been tied in. "I just worry about him being mad is all, and what is Higgins doing?" He started directly in his friends direction. Finding Higgins lunging against the lead he had been secured with. He dropped down to one knee to calm the large dog. "Buddy? What? .. whats buggin' ya?" He still smelled strongly of the cats and new kittins. "I was kept back there longer than you liked was that it?"
