He worked on cleaning up the stalls and put out the animals into the paddocks so they could graze and enjoy the warm sun. He mostly kept Higgins right at his side only tying him briefly as he took the others outside. He figured one he had the barn tidied up he would take Higgins outside too and they could lay on the grass like they had that first day.

He had made a basket for Chloe and left it in his freezer in the morning he went on his morning five k run returning home to shower before checking his online classes. He kept thinking about getting a cat. The idea just wouldn't leave him even if a dog would be a better running partner.

Clarissa just ignored Lilly, who seemed to be very impatient and irritable. What had they done to get on Lilly's bad side? All they had been was a few minutes late. Surely that couldn't have done that much harm. Shrugging it off, Clarissa walked inside and took care of the dogs, feeding them and filling up the water bowls. She tossed a few toys for the puppies to catch and gave them the attention that they deserved. After she was done with the dogs, she took care of the reptiles and rodents, and last but not least the cats. Time had passed quickly, a lot faster than what she expected. She walked outside and watched Owen in the stable. "Need any help? I might...there are some cats who keep on hissing at me and I can't calm them down," she said.

Higgins watched Owen's every move, not taking his eyes off of him for a second. He barked once at a horse when it made a sudden move, but mostly stayed quiet. He was behaving himself fairly well and would continue to do so as long as he didn't have to go in a kennel.

He was a little surprised at Clarissa's appearance in the barn. Once he felt he had covered the jump scare she had given him he agreed to go check on the cats for her but then looked at Higgins. "I can't exactly take him in with the cats .. Can you keep him with you by the desk?" He figured the cats in question were Hope and Faith bith had been rather grumpy recently but he suspected that would go after Hope had her kittens. Faith he had been told was the older of the two which made him wonder if Hope didn't belong to her. They were both very different cats but it was possible. Clayton had also tried to tell him what to look for when Hope was ready to deliver. He was supposed to call if that happened.

Once things were arranged for Higgins he went in to find Faith freaking out trying to get to her friend and Hope angry and bleeding a little. "Clarissa we need to call Clayton, I think Hope is in distress."
