"Tomorrow?! Why did you not tell me about this before?! Tonight, you gotta leave and go somewhere.. Totally not gonna be planning anything.."

"where am I going?" he asked with a questionable look on his face "yeah my birthday is 2 days after yours." he said pulling into a mcdonalds he wanted a sweet tea "do you want anything?" he asked

[Berenice.]

"I don't know where you're going, but you gotta go and come back at midnight." Lilly said.
"Nah, I don't want anything."

he ordered his sweet tea and a little thing of apple slices that came with the kids meals for cupcake "But why?" he asked

[Berenice.]

"No reason.. Can we stop off by the store?.. Like now?" Lilly asked. Cupcake watched Clayton and the apple slices.

"Sure?" he said heading towards the store "but why?" he asked

Clarissa stayed by Owen's side, just as she promised. "I don't mind going to your house. And sure, we can take my car. If you want to drive, go ahead, but I can drive too," she said. She glanced behind her just once, back at the fast flowing river. Trying to clear her head of the thought, she decided she would focus on what Owen was saying and answer his questions and suggestions. "Did you get a car or phone yet?" Clarissa asked, going to change the subject.

"I don't have a car yet.. I was thinking maybe a truck might be more, whats the word? .. Functional? .. is that right? I'm still trying to fit in a bit better around here. There is still so much I don't know. I'm looking forward to you teaching me about training with a whistle... I did get a phone!" He suddenly pulled it from his pocket and handed it to her. "I haven't been able to set it up much yet. Clayton doesn't know that I can't read well yet.. I been hiding it fairly well.. I did make it into high school before I got in too much trouble to stay." He took Clarissa's keys and drove. He had missed driving and he really liked Clarissa's classic car.

"No f-- reason! Trust me.." Lilly replied.

"wow, hostile." he said smiling "that's a first for me to hear." he told her hearing her cuss for the first time

"Get used to it." Lilly laughed.
"I'm sure you curse and stuff." She replied
