my characters

"my name is sitka. i'm the king of the black grass herd. i was born 6 years ago alongside my sister mali. one day my mother took me and mali to a place of black grass and told us to stay there and wait for everybody to come back; they never did. me and mali waited in that area for 4 years teaching eachother the things we'd seen the others do so when they came back for us they'd be proud of everything we'd learned. do you know how it feels to wait for what seems like forever and never be rewarded for what youve done? i've been waiting for the feeling of acceptance from that age. thats whats fueling my anger so if i ever lash out its because im always mad. the only person im not mad at is mali and at times i yell at her. she says that everything happens for a reason. but how can she be so accepting of all this. i dont know..i still have things to learn i guess. whenever i find a mate to rule the herd with me hopefully she'll understand."

"im mali. im 6 years old as of a few moons ago. im one of the 2 surviving fawns born to malikei and suri. i have a brother known as sitka who took over my fathers role as king when we were abandoned. id like to say that he is a loving caring brother and sometimes he is; but at others hes not. he has a hard time understanding our situation and i dont really blame him. at times i too am angry but i try to be happy and strong for him. i have to show him that not all things in this life are bad. a few years ago i had a walk in with another buck and we had a fawn. she was beautiful i loved her the few hours she was alive. but she too had to pass on. the male was so depressed about her death he called me broken and i havent seen him since.one day ill find a partner to rule beside.hopefully he'll understand."

hinds
you lift your head at the sound of hooved feet. you tense up as thoughts fly through your head. could it be a group of hinds like yourself, or a group of stags? you think worriedly, hoping it is not the stags. you had been separated from your former group of hinds, and are on your own, which is dangerous. your eyes brighten as you see that they are hinds. you cautiously go closer, and grow bolder as you walk. soon you are right there. one of them greets you and asks where you came from. you tell them you are on your own and they almost immediately ask if you want to join the group. you nod yes and tell them your name, thankful for their kindness. you soon come to know that hind as the leader of the group.

stags
you have left your mother now and are on your own. you miss your mother a little, but are excited to be on an adventure. you look around, taking in your surroundings. when you hear the clink of antlers hitting antlers, you swivel your ears toward the sound and follow it. when you see what is making the sound, you feel nervous, but excited still. you watch the two stags spar, probably practicing. when one of them backs up and looks at you, your nervousness overpowers your excitement. the stag is larger than the others and you assume that he must be the leader. the younger stag that had been sparring with this one turns his head as well. the older one walks towards you and you wait for him to challenge you. but he doesn't. he comes up to you and asks your name. you tell him and he nods. he gives you the option to stay or go, and walks back to the others. will you stay or leave?
