The pit bull walked up to the front doors, sat down, and whined.

The female husky looked down at her peacefully sleeping pups. She shuffled around to get comfortable and laid her head on the ground. She kept her eyes open, not sleeping so she would make sure no one would get near her beautiful puppies.

The young Pit bull was getting tired of waiting and found a way in through the back.
She looked vicious, but she really wasn't.

Mittens smiled, an idea popping into her mind. "Why say 'if we ever' when we can go right now?!" She exclaimed, rising to her paws with an excited bounce. "Surely the shelter won't notice if we're gone for a few hours? We can go hunting!" Her eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "I can almost taste the mouse already! If only I knew what mouse tasted like..."

MacKenzie nodded, pushing a stray lock of hair that was dangling in her face back behind her ear. "What about the w-" She began, before Stephanie quickly moved on to other things. She shrugged to herself, turning around and walking to the front desk. She was going to go outside and double-check that the horses were getting their food. She walked out the door, and headed over to the stables, which were where the horse's food-bags and water troughs were. As she walked to the stables, she looked out to the pasture, where the horses were grazing contentedly, just as Stephanie had said. She entered the stable anyway, just to check that the horses had enough water in there. She entered and went over to the troughs, checking into them. One trough was half-filled, the other was practically empty. She picked up a bucket that was beside the troughs and brought it outside the stable, to the Shelter's Well, where they got fresh water for the Animals. She hooked the bucket up to the pulley, and began pulling the rope so that the bucket would go down. when she felt it grow heavy with water, she began to pull back up. She unhooked the bucket from the machine, and brought it inside the stable. She poured the water from the large bucket into each trough, so that they were filled with only a inch from the water's surface to the brim of the trough. Satisfied with her work, she began to walk around the stable, curious to see if any horses were in here.

Jackie stood up, "That would be amazing, but how? I'm stuck in this cage..." she said, flicking her tail against the cold metal that made up the walls of the cage.

Bentley overheard the conversation. "When it gets a real hot day, the bars become slightly softer..." He said. "But it still takes all night to bust out"

Blueberry slowly approached the toys. "Toys you say?" She stepped on a squeaky toy and jumped, then started growling, barking, and whimpering at the same time. "What was that?!" She stepped back and it squeaked again. "AH! LET ME OUT!" She began scratching at the wall.
