Pacatus || Wolf RP || Closed

The Pacatus pack is an unusual one... They are small and live in a secluded forest where rarely anyone goes, except maybe loners or runaways from other lands. So what's unusual about it? They have no leader, when a group of tired, hungry wolves were searching for richer land after a drought had ruined most other forests, they had found what is now the Pacatus territories and they decided to stay. Eventually they had pups, then their pups had pups and so on. However they had never really considered themselves a pack until very recently, they had no one founder and they were all fine without a alpha... Until the other forests started coming to life once more. Soon, there were more loners and they feared there might be other packs starting to form. So they marked themselves as the Pacatus pack. The pack still has no leader, as no one could decide who is most suitable, so they created tests and those whom had no desire to be alpha watched and judged the others.

Soon it will be decided, but when?

Alpha

The alpha is the leader of a pack. They make all important decisions and are in charge of meetings with either their pack or Alphas of another pack. There is an Alpha male and an Alpha female, The alpha of a pack is almost always male, his mate becoming the alpha female. However, in the event that a female is founder of a pack or the male dies, leaving only the female, the alpha may be female with her mate becoming alpha male. the rank of alpha is usually passed down to the oldest son when both the alphas either die or become unable to continue as alpha. If they have not had a son -- or pups at all --, the rank of alpha is to be given to the Beta(s).


Beta
High rank
both male and female equal

The betas may be male or female, there may only be two; the beta and their mate.
They are the second in command. When alpha isn't present, they are in charge.

Elders
High rank

The elders are wolves that are 6 years or older.
They are the wisest of the pack and they are whom the pack -- mainly the alpha(s) and beta(s) -- go to for advice/help.

Healers
High rank

Healers do just what the name implies; heal those who are injured. They are trained in medicine and they nurse anyone in need of help back to health.

Hunters
Lead hunter

The lead hunter is the head of all group hunts and all hunters must listen to them.

The hunters are the ones who go out to find prey to bring back to the pack's food stash.

Scouts

High rank
The lead scout is head of all territory checks, group patrols, etc.
They are to be respected by the rest of the scouts

The scouts are the ones who patrol the border and territory for loners, anything threatening or whatever else might be notable for the alpha(s).
Nursing mothers
This rank isn't high nor low
These are wolves that are either pregnant or have pups younger than 9 weeks.

Caretakers
Regular rank
These are the wolves who watch and are in charge of pups older than 9 weeks when the mothers aren't there.
The mother still takes care of the pups, but after the puppies are 9+ weeks, the mother must go back to her previous duties.

Savannah was laying on a large rock, her mottled black fur standing up from the cold autumn breeze. She had just gotten back from her morning hunt, as she did every morning. Sniffing the air and resting her head on her paws, she sighed. The smell of winter was in the air and even as it was still a while away, it made her feel uneasy. Sav's hunt was rather successful, for this time of year anyway. She utterly despised winter, the prey was scarce and it made her nose numb. Slowly she drifted into a half-asleep state and huffed.

Karma was sitting by the river, a mostly eaten rabbit at her paws. The black and white wolf was still hungry, but she refrained from finishing the rabbit. As she wanted to bury it for when prey was low. Dipping her paw into the river, Karma started drink. She disliked how cold it was, but still she drank. Lifting her head to the breeze and closing her eyes, she picked up the remains of the rabbit and started to pad alongside the river.

James was getting very bored patrolling the territory. He had gone through the central lands twice already,--though the second time was sort of accidental-- and he was only halfway done scouting the borders. The tall, somewhat marbled wolf was mostly glad there were no threats, but part of him was hoping something of interest would happen. There was no one else around so James decided to take a break. He began running through the multitude of brightly coloured leaves that were falling, chasing those that flew off in a breeze. James while being 3 years old, was still very much a pup at heart and enjoyed playing if he ever got the chance.

Misha was staying hidden in some tall grass, stalking a hare. Suddenly, the hare bolted. The large, white wolf dashed after it and continued to pursue his prey for a good while before finally managing to grab it. A quick snap of the neck and it was dead, he yelped and dropped the hare, it's large feet had scratched his muzzle and he began to bleed a bit. He shook it off and picked up his kill, trying to find somewhere he could eat undisturbed.

Oak and Maple were going hunting.Oak teached Maple how to hunt they targeted a rabbit.
Maple jumped on it and bit it and stabbed it with her claws.

She woke up at the morning and she looked outside and her ears flatten as she doesn't like to go outside and so she walked to get some food as she was starving. She walked around but was still in the shadows
