There's a reason that we are the last pack left. We are the ones that have survived when all others have failed.
There used to be many other packs that controlled territory in the region, but when the snow started to settle in the weaker ones left, they were better off in the end even though they were teased at first. The ones that thought they were strong enough to survive, well they were wrong as we're the only ones left now. But even so the pack is getting smaller, the weaker ones have died off, so now only the strong are left. But the snow is only getting heavier, and the prey is quickly disappearing so now the pack need to grow or risk dying off. Due to this the alpha has made a tough decision, he will announce at the next pack meeting that he will be assigning mates for the wolves, perhaps they will fall in love and have a litter, this is what he hopes for.

note; even though this roleplay is about the pack breeding to survive there will be absolutely no force breeding! The mates will be chosen, but there will be no pups until they have had a chance to fall for each other and/or both parties are willing.

one- site rules, if you haven't read them go do that
two- forms, reservations & OCC, I am not providing a form and all must go on the discussion thread, as I want to keep the thread neat and tidy. All reservations can be posted on the discussion thread or pmed to me. I reserve the right to reject any from, and I will expect a better quality of form for higher ranks. Please turn off your signatures
three- genders, will be even once slots are filled, but if you are going to make two wolves please make in of each gender, but feel free to only have one wolf.
four- inclusion, please include everyone, if you have a wolf free and someone is asking to roleplay please do as I would prefer if nobody left.
five- semi-literate, this is a semiliterate roleplay so I expect atleast four lines per post, writers block is understandable but not for pages on end
six- flaws, everyone has them, no wolves are perfect, and no Mary Janes etc as this roleplay is about keeping the pack alive.
    seven- have fun!

the alpha wrote:
the alpha [male only] manages the pack, he are the leader and the most important wolf. he does have more control of the wolves within the pack, and even watches for the sensible things; food supplies, health of the wolves, number of pups, ect. he plans battles, takes care of the punishments, making sure that the ranks are showns, ect. his offspring are the usually the healthiest and the most cared for pups, no matter what. the nanny must even consider the alpha's pups before hers if needed.
Greer » four years old » played by `messy

the beta wrote:
the beta [male only] helps the alpha manage the pack. the secondary paws of the alpha, some might say, but he are also important. he attend matters when the alpha is not able to do it and are usually their leader's closest and most trusted wolf. while the alpha plans the battles, the beta's job is to organize hunting parties and it is also his job is to assign wolves to go patrol the borders of their territory. his offspring are usually healthy, but like the other wolves, he too, must sacrifice a little for the alpha's pups
Dusty » 4 years old » played by Corvette

the hunters wrote:
the group is made out of four males and can never be females. due to their strength, the males that are not alpha or beta will be the ones to catch their food. when they aren't hunting, they usually go patrol the border or be with their families. the lead hunter is the one that receives the commands from either the alpha or beta and then tells the other two hunters. the right and left flanks are the wolves that help the lead hunter and like their position names, they are placed on the left or right while the lead hunter is placed int he middle. this helps guarantee a successful hunt, with the follow up hunter at the back
the lead hunter is Cody » 4 years old » played by silent.

the right flank hunter is Boyd » 3 years old » played by Night .

the left flank hunter is Grimsley » 5 years old » played by BritasticGremlin

the follow up hunter is Rhett » 5 years old » played by Night .

the caretakers wrote:
the group is made out of seven females and can never be males. since they are a bit too fragile to hunt large animals and succeed without any injuries most of the time, the she wolves stay behind at camp to help out there as much as they can. the nannies watched after pups that are below the age of six months old, those that cannot be trained by the mentors yet. meanwhile, the mentors trains juveniles [six to eleven months old] to fight and hunt. unlike the two that only work with pups, the healers are the one that has the most knowledge about herbs; treating to the wounded.
      Lacey is a nanny » 3 years old » played by ~The Unknown~

      Una is a nanny » 3 years old » played by `messy

      Valdis is a mentor » 5 years old » played by .::DJ-Wolfie::.

Ranae is a mentor » 4 years old » played by silent.

Sally is a healer » 4 years old » played by Corvette

Cinna is a healer » 3 years old » played by BritasticGremlin

the apprentices wrote:
the little bundles of joy and the growing bundles of joys. the apprentices are all of the pups within the pack. although the alpha's, beta's, and delta's pups are the most important ones in the pack, they are all valued to the grown ups since they are the next generation of the wolves. those that do not fit the quality are raised by the pack and then will be forced to leave the pack, going to find a new one far away from them. they are aged from newborn to eleven months old. when they turn one year old, they are fully mature and will either have a rank in the pack or banished.
closed / produced in the role play

With the first rays of dawn peeking over the horizon and bringing slight degrees of warmth to the chilly winter landscape, it soon became apparent to the sleeping mentor that she had survived another night. Sunlight beamed into Valdis's den - her closed eyes to be more specific - and roused her from her sleep, forcing her to wake up so she could "enjoy" another bitter winter morning. Mumbling grumpily as she slowly opened her eyes, the she-wolf uncurled her body and groggily got to her paws, then stumbled out of her den, shaking bits of frost from her fur as she felt a cold breeze ruffle through her pelt, giving her slight shivers despite having two layers of fur. She used her long limbs to pull herself away from her burrow, then turned in a few tight circles, did a few stretches, and trotted back and forth to get her blood flowing, all the while her yellow eyes scanned the camp for any other early risers. Seeing no one, she huffed and ruffled her coat, ruling out the possibility of distracting herself from the cold with conversation. She'd just have to wait a little longer until another wolf was out and about (preferably her fellow mentor Ranae, for she seemed the easiest to talk to), or until wolves that may already be awake made themselves known to her. Until then, Val was left alone with the weather and her thoughts.

Having joined the pack about a year ago (seven years to a wolf), she was well aware of what this area had been like before this horrid winter came. There had been plenty of neighboring packs- not so many that you would feel threatened, but enough to make you feel like you were a part of a little community, and that was kind of... Comforting. She was just starting to get used to it and the way things worked around here - she even accepted being a mentor instead of a hunter, though she still grumbles about that from time to time - but then winter came, and apparently, it was a considered to be a pretty bad one around here. Weaker packs started leaving this place one by one, and eventually, her pack, this pack, was and still is the only one left. Did it stop there? No. Wolves started dying off here, as well: adults, pups, and elders alike. This dreaded winter started to claim the weak wolves, leaving just a few survivors. In a way, Valdis felt slightly guilty about living while the others died. They were wolves that had been here - had been born and raised here - much longer than she had. This was their home, and it killed them. What about her? She was a stranger from another pack that had just waltzed in and declared herself worthy of living in the home of the dead. That was twice now: twice she had watched others die and lived when she probably shouldn't have. Still, nevertheless, life did still go on, and she needed to focus on living and providing for those that were left. Granted, all the little ones had died, so there was no one to teach, and since females couldn't hunt (she growled as she thought of this), she basically had nothing to do but sit around and chat.

She turned away from the centre of camp, where all of the dens were focused around, then took a seat as she cast her gaze off into the distance, where a forest of powdered trees and blankets of snow greeted her. The rising sun caused the snow to glint and twinkle like it was made up of hundreds of stars, and casted warm golden gradients all around, a sight that would've been beautiful had she not known that this very snow was responsible for the deaths of innocent wolves. It wasn't just a thing of the past either; the threat still lingered and hung over the pack like a dismal and dreadful cloud. She cast a worried glance over her shoulder, her ears laid back and her brows furrowed. How many more would this winter claim? The pack was already small enough, and without any pups, it didn't seem like they had much hope for the future. What was Greer going to do? With that thought in mind, she suddenly realized what she was doing and gave a faint smirk, then turned her gaze away and looked at the ground between her forepaws. Huh... Seven years later and you're still trying to think like an Alpha... Her smirk slowly faded as she felt another icy breeze. Well you're not... It's not your place to dedide anything for the pack. Just... Do as your told. Granted, the very idea of utmost obedience to anyone made her cringe, but she had not choice but to accept it. That was her place now. She was a follower, not a leader.
