Steel He whinnied softly "it's a water hose, it brings water up from under the ground, it won't bite or hurt you just gives you water. They use it to refill our water bucks." Cody I finished up cleaning his cuts I saw the mate looking at it "thirsty? " I went and grabbed a bucket filled it with water and place it in front of her on the ground a few feet back not wanting her to get nervous of me. I the when to get Steel's cooler I returned with and placed it on him.

I snorted loudly. "That's weird. Why can't they just keep rivers or ponds?" I asked. I then looked to the bucket, flaring my nostrils. Though I eventually moved to stick my nose in, blowing bubbles before lifting my head and drinking silently. When I looked up again I looked at the cooler Cody returned with, flaring my nostrils. "Why is he putting a sheet on you? Can you not just roll and dry in the air?"

"I'm not sure why they dont have ponds and stuff, but I know the can control it temperature so it's not freezing cold like the rivers are.the blanket drys you faster and it keeps you warm. Has the same effect as the dirt, but your coat stays clean."

I put my ears back slightly. "What's the point in that? The dirt hides you from predators better." I bobbed my head, lashing my tail a bit at the flies. I eventually moved to nibble on the cooler sheet, shaking it slightly and gently. "It's weird." I confirmed softly. "And it tastes funny."

"Well, I think it's common courtesy to inform you that that's where the two-leggeds an their tame horses live." He said calmly. "Many a horse has gone over there and they haven't come back. So I would be careful if I were...wanting to go there." He finished.

"I'm sure it's no big deal, two leggeds are too small to do any harm" she said with a toss of her head. "Come on let's go check it out, I need to know what we're 'up against'" she said the last bit sarcastically, she was ready for some adventure, a distraction.

"Oh you'll have no trouble with that" she said to his comment about keeping her safe "I gerentee I can outrun any horse they might be riding, long legs have their advantages" she said with a couple paws at the water. She nudged him back as he passed her and she trotted after him, some of her little barriers having been broken down, but certainly not all.

I don't have to worry about predators as you do. I get to sleep in my stall which is warm dry and has confy bedding to sleep on." He nickered softly at her almost like a chuckle "don't eat it. It's just to help cool you down from a hot days work."Cody I put my hand under his blanket to check him and he had cooled down so I took it off then went to put it away, I came back wit the brushes and I started grooming him with curly comb to loosen up to dirt and sweat then brushed it way with the body brush, after I was don't with that I picked his hooves out checking his ankles and shoes.

"I use to be a tame horse, I was born on a fancy horse barn. My dam is a friesian and my sire is an appaloosa. It burnt the ground and I escape from it, they never found me that was 5 years ago." She pushed "that's why I don't have a herd I kept moving and Theo other wild horses didn't want a tame horse like me to be in there herd."

"Well, it's still quite admirable that you survived out here. There are a lot of dangers for a lone horse all around." Jem stated with something in his bright silver eyes which said that he knew what he was talking about.

She snorted and bobbed her head down a bit. "Yea it is, had close calls a few times. Had pack of wolves corner me once, had me up against a cliff there was water below I jumped off a good 50ft to the water.

I looked to the brush he set down, moving to sniff it, not carrying that Cody was right there, he seemed pretty harmless so far. "All this is just really, really weird." She commented softly. She liffted the brush bristles, biting them and moving ot pick the brush up, shaking it alittle in boredom.
