Myra began playing with the grass as she continued talking, "My favorite horse, Blaze ,died only a few months ago. I caught Penny and she's an awesome horse but I do miss Blaze quite a bit. She was a very pretty, kind mare." A smile flickered across her face as she thought of the old mare. "She had been mine for most of my life you know. We were really close. Penny is a great girl but it just..." She trailed off and looked up at the stallion.

Jem cocked his head to the side, listening to her story. His ears were no longer pinned to his head, but flicking forward in interest. He decided that maybe this girl wasn't so bad after all. Slowly, inch by inch, he moved his head towards her, his gaze curious.

"Oh, so now i'm fine again huh?" She asked him, laughing a bit. After wiping her hands of the grass on them, Myra lifted herself off the grass and said. "I believe I'll name you know. The other cowboys haven't really given you a name have they?" She said. All the names that passed through her mind weren't quite good enough until she tumbled upon a really nice one, Jem. Kinda like a jewel but more boyish.

I lifted my head a bit, chewing harshly on a chunk of grass in my mouth. I stretched my hind end out a bit, flicking my ear at the flies buzzing around it. I gave a soft little exhale before shaking my head, listening ot my halter make a bit of noise, my tags clanking together gently. I blinked, looking over the horizon for anything I could see to be a danger.
