Jacks stretched and sniffed the air. It was early morning and he was hungry. And he could bet Scout was too. He trotted out of the cave they had slept in that night and sniffed the ground, testing for scents. Another days hike and he would be close to the pack that they had been hunting for. A pack meant safety. Not for him though. Jacks had been a loner all his life, but Scount need a secure place. And so they were heading towards it.

She snuggled down the leaves and sighed. The cool wind whipped and whistled around the cave mouth. She was sorely missing the warm body of Jacks beside her. She borrowed even deeper into the pile and snuffled a bit. She knew he would come back with breakfast. All she has to do was wait.
