Rylin pulled her brunette hair back in a low ponytail so it wouldn't interfere with her helmet later. She glanced at her reflection quickly before sighing and walking out of the bathroom. She'd hardly slept last night; she always had a hard time sleeping in new places. The cabin was nice enough, it just didn't feel like home yet. She pulled on her riding boots and laughed as her Aussie, Tahoe, got up and started dancing excitedly at the door. Boots always meant barn time, which he loved.

She patted him on the head.

"Not today buddy, at least not now. I need to see if there are any rules about dogs in the barn or at the arenas. Stay."

Tahoe's ears drooped but he obediently stayed as she walked out the front door. It wasn't a long walk from the cabin to the barn and as soon as she walked down the aisle she could hear Wicked call and hang his big head over the stall door.

"Hey brat, did you sleep well? I didn't."

She ran her hand down his face as she assessed his stall. His breakfast was gone, he had pooped several times and his muzzle was damp from recently drank water.

"Well I'm glad you're settling well. You always have."

She grabbed his tack from the tack room and quickly brushed and tacked him up in his stall. She preferred that over cross ties in the unfamiliar environment. Once tacked she led him to the mounting block and mounted up. Wicked was curious but well behaved as they walked around looking for an open arena. There was someone jumping in the jump arena, but Rylin had decided on flatwork for their first day. She rode on to the indoor arena where a girl was galloping around on her horse. Rylin decided to wait by the gate until the other rider noticed her before entering the arena.

Jessica grew up with a normal family, lived a normal life, until her 15th birthday, when she was involved in a nearly fatal car accident. It killed her parents, younger brother, and her neice, and she walks with a slight limp. She won't tell anyone, though. Her therapy, however odd it is, is riding horses. Jumping, to be exact, and Western Trail Riding on Adele.
